I love the cycle of Tommy coming back to this mod, having such optimism, appreciating the mod, raging at the difficulty, calling it bullshit and quitting, then repeating the cycle.
@@xeon39688 he went in there with only marines and cas, nothing else like no shit he wouldn't be able to break the UK's coastal defense if he wanted to break that shit he should of at least got some amphib tanks and gotten strat bombers to bomb out the forts
@@xeon39688I mean it’s probably the most well fortified coastline in the entire world, and it’s also defended at this point by the concentrated force of the UK army. You have to pull some weird shenanigans to successfully D-Day like landing in Scotland or Ireland, but then supply is difficult.
Hey tommy, the current version of black ice is outdated, you need to play the test version that doesnt crash like it happened to you, also if you really want to go head on against cities you need railway artillery as support company (it isnt like in vanilla) also your marines needs better equipment for amphibious invasion, like pack artillery and marine support companies that can be researched, also you need to bomb the costal forts first if you want to get in, i hope you play more of this mod, ever since i played i cant go back to vanilla this is just better
@@drunkenhobo8020 Especially when there's nothing wrong with the default UI. I never understood modders forcing people to use their UI. Just leave it as default. If someone wants to mod the UI, they can, but leave it at default for the average user. If a mod has a blindingly bright neon UI, I'm just not gonna play it lmao
you should play on the _test_ version instead of the base mod version, it fixes the broken pop-ups, and also doesnt crash. the reason for the difficult english invasion was that they had a shit ton of forts, you can bomb them, which makes it a lot easier
@@patriciogiani7229 Make sure that it hasnt updated. As in, If the mod updates, you cant keep playing on the same savefile, and you will have to create a new save. Iirc, the mod updated yesterday. A bit annoying, but the updates often fix a lot, and updating the mod through a savefile makes things worse
So true, its gets to the point of silliness, because the limitations of it being a mod for a pretty old game combined with the unachievable aspirations this mod has with it trying too hard to be realistic makes it more "needlessly complicated" rather than "fun complicated" as well as the artificial difficulty from the constant debuffs and negative penalties. I understand that the mod wants the extreme historical authenticity but at one point they probably got so preoccupied with whether they could, and never stopped to think if they should.
well people have preferences, i think i prefer this because it offers an actual challenge and it is the only way i can enjoy the game, its also pretty fun once you get used to it
Bokoen has done Black Ice a couple of times for multiplayer and it seemed like everyone was constantly overloaded with stuff they needed to do even with co-ops so it’s probably not a mod you’d want to play in MP
