The reason shooting fish in a barrel means easy is because the fish can’t move much because they are stuck in a barrel, it was like spearing fish then it would mean difficult because of the reason dropsy described

Fish in a barrel would be extremely easy to shoot, because they can't move. Hunting Fish with a gun is hard though, due to what Dropsy described. However, Dropsy is wrong in thinking fish in a barrel are hard to hit.

To add to the whole "why shooting fish in a barrel is easy" conversation, you don't actually need to hit a fish with a bullet to kill it. Especially in a barrel the shockwaves of the bullet will be enough to kill depending on the caliber involved. Also dropsy seems to not understand what a living language is. Living languages change the meaning of words all the time as a natural part of language usage. Even if she were correct that it at one time did mean hard (it never did) she could only say something like it being the original meaning, the current meaning would still not be wrong.

The reason fish in a barrel is easy is because when a barrel is full of fish, you shoot and can't miss.

Prior to the modern days of refrigeration, fish were packed and stored in large barrels. The barrels were packed to the rim full of fish. As such, any shot the entered the barrel would be guaranteed to hit at least one of them. This being the case, nothing would be easier than shooting fish in a barrel.

Because trying to shoot at somthing underwater is really hard, most bullets explode or lose enough momentum to not do any real damage

Fish used to be stored in barrels, and were literally like packed in. That’s why it’s a phrase for when somethings easy, anywhere you shoot in the barrel you shoot a fish

8:00 talking about bunk beds. im 21 and when I was in year 4-6(Australia NSW) can't remember what year I was in but one camp me and 5 of my friends were in one room and there were 3 bunk beds and we already choose which bunks we chose so no matter what we couldn't switch and the first day we got there one of my friends started jumping across the top bunks and then a piece of wood holding the matress above my bed broke luckily there were more wood so the matress didn't fall on me while i was sleeping

7:52 on this bunk bed topic, I got punched in the face by the person who was in the bottom bunk and I was above them because my foot touched their bed and he was a neat freak. Also, my ladder was facing the wall in the corner so how else would I get up there
