We've been discussing the possibility of buying her a new bicycle over the last year, but never pulled the trigger due to both financial concerns and also not being sure which bike we should get (road bike, gravel bike, commuter bike, mountain bike, etc..).
Fortunately, on Christmas day my paycheck and winter bonus arrived so I decided to pull the trigger and surprise Thuong with a bike that I think she can enjoy the most this upcoming year. Her current bike is a used road bike I got years ago as an experiment. I wanted to make sure she enjoyed cycling before investing too much money into a new bike, so a used bike was a great option. It still works great, but there's nothing quite like the feeling of a new bicycle, which she got to experience for the first time.
She also said this was her best present ever, so this one is going to be hard to beat next year 😅
