One method for dealing with the bad snow is you can put carpet on top of it to walk on safely. And there was carpet in the igloo you made your home. You can pick the carpet back up as you traverse large patches. In regular MineCraft I’ll take at least a stack of white carpet into the mountains so I can traverse safely without messing up how the environment looks.
