In my opinion, Aj's challenge was a lot harder than Mr beast's version, since he was locked and his friends were annoying him and that in a way kept him entertained. Aj literally had no human contact the entire time and actually wasnt locked in the room so it hit him harder mentally since he could leave any time he wanted. Big up to both youtubers tho.
I think the biggest thing was actually MrBeast having a timer to see how long he had left. Not knowing if its day or night or how long its been must be so disorienting
@@danielvanommeren3968 The headache is probably what convinced me that AJ had it really bad. Still, Vsauce was in there quite a bit longer, even with the little peek he did at some point.
honestly, even when niko was there to celebrate aj hitting 1mil subs niko was over the moon like he was the one who hit that milestone. we all need a friend like niko!

The torture comes from the idea that there is no escape for people who are actually put in that scenario which causes the brain to start believing that it's over. What helped AJ push through was the ability to escape and the knowledge that the only thing keeping him there was himself. Respect tho cause it takes a level of mental strength not many have.

it's really interesting to see how much control AJ needs to have. I know i would thrive in this type of environment. not having to worry about anything and I'm used to living in small spaces/ being in my room away from roomates etc. It's cool to see how different people react in a situation like this

Its crazy that even though only 48 hours can be considered detrimental, people like Albert Woodfox have been kept almost continuously in a tiny cell for nearly 43 years by authorities. Imagine what that could do, or has done to those people.

AJ knowing he’s there for max 50 hours kind of takes away from the time disassociation that comes with the “torture method”. Which is a very big factor in messing up the minds of people who get to be in this position. Wish they had just sent him in there without giving him a specific time of when he would be released.
I've been in prison for the past 14 years. Been in solitary for the first 32 months of this sentence I'm serving. Unfortunately it effects some people in a horrible way. People develope all types of psychological disorders. Stay out of trouble... Stay safe
@@mountainof7 imma say yes now it is. At first it was rough but one thing u have to have here is patience. Patience with staff and patience with other people in this predicament. For a person who hasn't done time 50 hours is definitely a lot
32 months is rough! I did “only” 30 days in solitary and i totally agree with your statement! First few days were kinda easy since it takes a while to acknowledge where you really are, then it hits like running against a brick wall and that’s when the mind starts playing games. @@Violence4fun fortunately I've been utilizing my time wisely. I came in at 25yrs old and now at 40, I've accomplished more than people would imagine. Of course I hit some snags and bumps on this road but tbh this place has effected my mind and heart immensely. Unfortunately I'm numb to violence and Gore because it's a constant cycle in my chaotic environment. I've been in the middle of riots, stabbings and I've defused plenty of situations that could've became fatal. I've looked into people's eyes and literally watched the light leave their bodies before they die from a stabbing or an altercation. If you reading this and u think u thuggin or gang banging.... Just stop and renew your mind. This place plays serious tricks on ya mind. Stay blessed everyone.

I’ve done this. When I was sent to Winnebago Mental Heath Institute, I had to spend a WEEK, In isolation from everyone and everything because I had tested positive for Covid, I was only there for that one week bc I had called my mother and begged her to bring me home and she called and got me out, I was only allowed to have contact with anyone for less than a minute since it was only for them to hand me my food thru the door slot, and when I was done I just put it back out the door and later when I was sleeping they would come take it. Honestly, the isolation made me really self aware and it really freaked me out.
