After 24 years in the US Navy I gotta tell ya, you're a bit spoiled. That looks freakin fantastic for 45 bucks. Grab a few buddies, get fed and a private room and get to go hang in the Bahamas for a bit... Yeah man, I'm in. And the staff seemed awesome.
For the light you said didn’t work, that’s for if an emergency happens, and it flashes red. Having to pay for WiFi is also normal on most cruises. Royal Caribbean makes you pay $20 a day. (In my opinion, that light switch is also in the perfect spot)
I honestly feel bad for the ships crew, captain, and owner for at least buying a whole cruise ship or 2 and then getting known as the worlds worst crew
I think the problem is they tried going for the cheap tactic on a commonly luxurious line of business, so people ended up getting high expectations without realizing they're just getting what they paid for.

I've been on this cruise before and nothing bad happend... Expect for me and my family getting stuck in a elevator for 30 minutes but still the cruise was amazing

Food alone would be more than 45 dollars, not to mention the type of hotel room you would get for 10 - 15 dollars per night. Even if you found a hotel room you would be begging for food every day. Clearly his opinions are flawed.
The room is actually $180 if he stayed in it alone. If you see the pricing page it says $45 per person for 4 people. I took a cruise and they calculate pricing like that. So if two people are in the room it would be $90 each, etc.
I just got done watching this video and naturally I had to check out this cruise. After my wife and kids all turned me down. I was able to talk an old Army buddy into sailing on this magnificent boat with me. We booked a 2 night trip to the Bahamas for an unbelievable price of only $75 a person. Of course, there was some extra fees and taxes But that’s the cheapest price I’ve ever paid for a cruise. All aboard this October!!! I can’t wait.
That's dirt cheap... you couldn't sleep on the deck for that price on any other cruise line! I'd take this cruise any day to escape for a couple of days!
It's a purchase I happily will forgo. I take cruises to unplug and move at my own pace. But I will not be taking this cruise, although it had little to do with this review. (The review didn't help though!)
Even in disney cruises, I think it was around 40 dollars per day if you want to have full internet, and around 20 dollars per day for normal browsing on the disney wish
For 45 bucks, it isn't bad at all. You actually got a whole room. I've seen the cheapest rooms on a Carnival Cruise and its like half that size including the bathroom. They are so small, you can't even walk around. So yeah I think what you paid for is pretty good.
If you look at the fee screen you can see it says $45 per person for a 4 person room ($45 pp), that means the room actually costs $180 a night if he stayed there alone. That's how the fees worked when I went on a cruise, it's just misleading pricing so that it looks cheap when you start looking into pricing. So if two people stayed they actually pay $90 each, etc.
Took this cruise last year, definitely pretty good! The shaking of the ship is also a normal thing. Usually happens when the ship docks or just a normal thing if you in the aft on a lower deck near or just above the engines.
@@lyricleopard you may be an "enthusiast," but that doesn't mean you're a frequent cruiser. Shaking is normal on a cruise, especially during departure and arrival. Google "is shaking normal on a cruise" if you'd like to learn more.
@@lyricleopard, the ship vibrating well docking and undocking is completely normal, especially when your on a lower deck near the aft of the ship. Now if the ship is shaking and vibrating very violently out of the blue, than yah, that’s not normal.
None of the incidents at the start of the video were from that ship, or even that cruise line. There has never been evacuation orders of onboard fires on this cruise line. I also feel like you only sought out the bad on this cruise. This is no way any disrespect to your channel. I was on this ship earlier this year, and I loved it! Would totally do it again!
I feel the same way. He was going to give a negative review no matter what. Wfi is never free on a cruise. The bottled water is never free. And this was his first cruise so what does he have to compare it with? This is an inexpensive cruise and you get what you pay for. I felt this review was one big whine!
I have been on this cruise twice, going again in November. He left out a lot, he didn't mention the different restaurants on board if you don't want to do the buffet, he didn't mention the different stations at the buffet that actually has a cook there to cook you a fresh hamlet, hamburger or pasta dish, I usually have a fresh vegetable pasta or shrimp pasta prepared while I wait, there is also a paini station, he intentionally left out a lot because all of those are in the buffet area, I went in 2022 and 2023
I think for $45 you can’t complain! It probably cost them more than that in fuel and overheads to keep the lights on and the food warm! Clearly just a company that’s had some bad luck and needs some publicity to get them back in the game! Missed an opportunity there because a cruise company makes millions when they are busy! And I’m sure they would have rewarded a RU-vidr who gave them the publicity to get busy again a very healthy reward
I feel like the saving Grace is the staff. The cruise company needs to really play into their awesome staff, do repairs and renovations as they can, and try to rebuild reputation. There is still charm here.
The reason why this ship is so worn torn broken etc and why there was an Italian dictionary even though the ship is sailing from florida to the Bahamas is because the ship was owned by an Italian company before, the ship was owned by the Costa compqny and they do Mediterranean cruises and the ship youre on now was built in 1990. There were plans to extend the ship but the company that shouldve extended the ship kinda went bankrupt whilst its renovation. Sorry for such a long comment
I was on a Royal Caribbean cruise this summer, it was amazing. No mould no bed bugs no horrible food, epic entertainment. I would try Royal if I was you, it is an unforgettable experience. And also, the boat shaking is when the boat is turning into the dock! I was shook when that first happened to me! :)
No joke, I was on this ship when it still was the "Costa Classica" and it had a engine failour in Hong Kong. Nearly crashed into the shoreline, you could see people literally running away. 10/10
I remember the Costa Concordia disaster,the captain went too close to the island and damaged the hull and she began to sink,and the captain literally just abandoned the ship and left people to fend for themselves, 32 people died 💀😢
They're doing a first responder deal where you basically pay for your guest and you get to go for free. Half the people on my shift have been looking into this to just go some time this summer. Would be interesting an honestly doesn't look that bad.
You do realize if there was a deck officer who had a reputation for crashing into things he would no longer be a deck officer. You also sell clips from random ships, so it were not this ship.
First it depends on what room you got but there are rooms on every cruise ship that do not have windows, you have to pay for a wifi package on every cruise ship, every cruise has you paying for what is in the mini bar even company's like Carnival and Royal Caribbean the couple of things that are weird is you have to pay to "chill" it could be in one place like a special lounge, the mold and the conditions of the ship but it could js be old.
@rohan7759 you are totally right but I think that carnival cruise line is by far in the ranking like virgin and royal I went on my first cruise in June 2023 and had amazing service and got free room service with no extra cost to everything except sushi which was cheap. It was a ship about 16 decks but still had a ton of great entertainment just like Royal Caribbean cruise. I hope one day to take a cruise on the icon of the seas some time soon.
Damn for £45 that’s amazing! Amazing that opportunities like this exist, I’m actually going to Costa Rica from NY in Feb and payed just shy of £300 for the flight so £45 plus everything that your getting as well as a new experience is amazing!
I’ve been on multiple cruises and I can confirm that the ships do shake much like that especially if the waters are rough. Nothing to do with crashing or engine issues.

This is one of those cruise lines that is trying to make it. Once upon a time I believe they were called the Celebration Cruise Line. I remember being a kid on the Princess Sun and looking across the seaport in Fort Lauderdale and seeing that little ship they had. Eventually they were replaced by the Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line who replaced that old ship with the Original Carnival Celebration. Then they bought the Costa Classica. Then Covid hit which resulted in them scrapping the old Celebration. Covid also made them change their brand name to Margaritaville at Sea.
Keep in mind they bought that ship from Costa lines which is part of the carnival group the ship was already a Junker when they got It and in 2025 it will lose its certification to carry passengers cause of its age. That's why they bought a newership that has lots of balconies I think it was built like in 2005 so it should be a lot better than the rattle trap ship that they have right now
Basically every year my moms company that she works for goes on a cruise here and this was the first year I went and it was pretty fun they had a “fancy” dinner.
Go for the disney cruise next time, i had the BEST expeirence and have allready booked my next one! the staff is incredible, the food and entertainment is incredible! its just all around an amazing time.
If you ever want to go on a real and good cruise, I would suggest royal carribean, msc, or disney cruise line. Great video!!!! Btw the shaking is the rudder when the boat was docking early in in the morning.
I have been on Carnvial, there is free food, the cruise ship is nice. The only thing I didnt enjoy was the water slides, the queue was too big.@@Kai-Gamer
I went on this cruise it was not that bad beacues we went with my moms work and had plans but the funniest part was the Bahamas and going with my friend THAT WAS IT- but all of iT is true
I went on a cruise last year in September, and it was perfect. Beautiful view of the ocean, the rooms even had a deck so you could be outside looking at the ocean. The buffet was perfect, the pool was clean, and lots of great experiences.
