I just found out that Lusine uses FL and Cubase in studio, and Live for sets. It just soldified for me that it doesn't matter the DAW, use any and all to get what you WANT.
I started on FL. Stayed on it for about 6 yrs. Made the switch to Ableton..... Never looked back. Once you learn it, you'll understand it's significantly faster than FL. Shortcut for shortcut, etc.
I started with FL 12 years ago, then switched to Logix pro X after a couple of years, then over to Cubase for another 3 or 4 years and now I am back in my home daw FL studio. But for recording Instruments and mixing I really like Cubase. If I make beats or electronic music I use also FL. So it is interesting to see what Ableton looks like because I also had it on my computer but never used it :D Have a nice weekend
I like Ableton but i've heard they're both good just depends on your workflow. Some people like to switch back n forth depending on their mood like decap
I'm sure a ableton is great but the GUI what made me choose FL and the lifetime free updates and the fact you can also make videos ...and ableton is great for live music on stage ...pick whichever everyone's got their preference
Same here, I hate the arrangement setup of FL studio but you pay once and get lifetime free updates with UNLIMITED EVERYTHING. Abelton you technically pay to play based on your level of production. For $50 with FLS you can have everything you need vs abelton and their 16 tracks only. Pro Logic and FLS for life for me
I've tried them all over the years... Reaper, Pro Tools, Logic, Garageband, Cakewalk, FL Studio, etc... I prefer Ableton. They're all great and it's nice there is a variety in my opinion. It's totally subjective but for my workflow Ableton works best.
A lot of people base there preferences off of the fact that alot of producers use Alberton. I know fl has come a long way and it's getting better each year with free upgrades. Basically it's whatever your preference is. I won't pick something because everyone is using it I will pick something that I know will works for me best in the end. FL STUDIO FOR LIFE.
There is no such thing as "Accidentally" 😂. It's okay if you want to switch from FL Studio to Ableton though. I remember my first time using Ableton, I was scared for life. Imo it has a very intimidating interface if you come from a different DAW. But also has some dope tools and workflow I really miss in FL
One thing I love with it that fl doesn't do is when day your using automation on on an LFO on a synth , the automation says the value so you know it's at 1/4 or whatever without having to go back and look at the settings
Great experience... The learing curve was too much for me too. But I love how you routed your inputs through those pedals. Makes cookups more fun. Are you still using the Ryzen 9 build?
@@SIKKYBEATS Im sure that will go a long way. Everything else was overkill at that time. At least now GPU prices are going down. Great choice with case though. Fits in well with the background.
These DAWSare tools. Use whatever you want. FL has FL Studio VSTi that allows you to use FL Studio with other DAWs, so use both at the same time if you want!
the main thing that made me switch to ableton was that i was doing a lot of recording and it sucks in fl its so messy. the only thing i miss from fl is the piano roll because i used to use the tools alot but ive gotten pretty comfy doing drums in ableton
Are you using Edison for recording? You can record multiple takes on a loop in 1 go and then replay each of them and keep the ones you like without ever leaving Edison. No hassle saving a bunch of files, dragging them onto tracks or anything like that.
Actually ableton has its own drum sequencer as an instrument🥲and you can just click in the drum pattern. You just need to figure things out. I use both fl and ableton though😌ableton has a faster work flow
I'm a very fond fl studio but no doubt ableton is the go to option when it comes to sampling, using loops to do stuff and the automation is just far better in ableton than any of the daw I have seen. Also, ableton is just good when it comes to big house or like those club type genre musics I use the best from both of the worlds :)
Interesting video...i would say : use what you feel comfortable with. But i really engage everyone to be fluent with many DAWs. Because FL studio is very popular but is not an industry standard, you will benefit switching between DAWs. I guess it also depends the type of music tou make. If its loops based with just a little bit of midi and not a lot of modulation, pick FL Studio, its not worth it to pay for constant upgrades when you have this for free on FL. But if you compose more complex melodies, requiring a lot of FX and modulations, less problem for files sharing and with a huge community who already made all of the FX Chain and racks that you need, Ableton and other DAWs might make your life easier on many level. Yet you can achieve the same things on both most of the time, FL has its own way of doing things and its not always the easiest way. If you are new to music production, it really depends if you are on a tight budget. I would advise to directly use software such as Ableton, Logic, Bitwig etc if you can...for many reasons. But if you are on a budget go for FL and if you feel like it, maybe later you'll learn other DAWs 🙃
Why didn't you use the Drum Machine? Making a bit on Ableton (and Bitwig) is much easier actually than FL Studio. You think there is no drum sequencer...well, not the FL way, which is actually a pretty unusual way to make beats. But the grid in a midi clip on Ableton (and Bitwig) has 2 modes...included one for the drums.
Switched to Ableton a couple of months ago after 9 years with FL studio, and literally made more progress in those couple months than I did in 9 years.... Ableton is just so much more professional DAW with outstanding workflow, and it's less RAM and CPU hungry as well. It was an eye opening experience and I'm definitely not coming back to FL studio
Whatever you’re comfortable with. I think I need to use both to get the best balance for my sound. Thanks for sharing, love hearing the community stories like this man!
@@Xandersgalleryplease choose ableton it’s way more fun and fl studio will literally hurt you even tho you’ve used it for years it looks like a toy everything is just everywhere and you gotta find it but in ableton it’s just in one place
I use Fl Studio since "Fruity Loops" but Ableton is easier with external gear. But i get myself if something is not working i switch to FL. It is and will be the best Software ever. Hope you understood what i mean. Its been a while since the english class in school😃. Greetings from germany
nice try, thanks for it! So my 2 cents if you own an Akai MPC Live, One or Studio Hardware you'll have the Software too, combine it as a VST PlugIn inside FL Studio. Nothing can stop this joint venture. Legendary beats straight from the hardware side by side with the mother of all DAWs :) - give it a try !
I have been using FL for about 10 years but decided to give Ableton a go and I'm torn between the two , I prefer the work flow of fl but Im also a scratch dj and record alot and I'm really liking recording on Ableton as its wraps what I do and the loop recorder section is dope I just don't like if production wise , I have live lite and Im trying 90 day demo and I reckon I'm gonna use both but just get the intro version of Abelton as 16 tracks is enough and when I'm making mixtapes there isn't much after production work all FX I do through my mixer as I'm playing.. I'm gonna see how I get on until trial is done ....right now though FL is way better ... But if they both fucked each other and made a baby daw that was them both in one it would be perfect
I’m in the same boat. I feel like studio one is their love child, but I just don’t like S1 that much, I’ve made dope tracks in it but it’s interface is mmmeehh compared to fl.
Abletons prices arent that bad once you realise that the education edition is 60% off at all times putting the suite price from $700 to $300 if you have a student id
I always hear FL Studio is the most "Popular" DAW but not the most "Powerful". Ableton is more powerful if you're being honest, FL studio is more "get in and get the works done" in my opinion. Ableton is a playground I struggle to work in. I've got more done in logic pro. Guess less is more in my case. Maybe this metaphor makes sense: FL studio is like chiseling stone, it aint easy but with every chip you chisel, you're getting closer to the finished product. Ableton like chiseling stone in the middle of an arcade full of pinball machines, street fighter 2 classic, and a bunch of those 4 player old arcade games like TMNT and Simpsons. Good fucking luck trying to chisel that stone.
Cool Video 👍Sikky u can use XO by XLN Audio for the drum sequencing part but i agree FL is better in that aspect. Also FL's Piano Roll is the best in any DAW.
@@SIKKYBEATS they copied a little bit, at least u can use the scale in midi mode and some random settings. But these settings are not created very good. 😅
check out @EdTalenti, Mr.Bill is dope. found this other dude dnksauce or something the other day that was crazy with it too. Oversampled is sick. man too many dope creators on ableton fr fr
Don't get Ableton if you are a beginner. It's super unintuitive and confusing to use. Also with your Intro version (bundle version with some Arturia hardware) you only get to work with up to 8 channels (which can be MIDI or Audio, up to you) and that's not enough to try it out. Way too much mouse clicking required, the whole idea of "first put your draft in Session View, then click 5 places with the mouse to be sure all is armed and ready, then press record and THEN you can do additional work in Arrangement View" is overcomplicated nonsense. I don't care if it have better capabilities for professional or what ever it is, just saying that for beginners it's demotivating to go through hours and hours of info before been able to play with it. I've managed to make a full (simple) track in FL Studio in around 5 hours after my first use, compared to Ableton where I had to watch over 10 hours of RU-vid beginner guide videos and still feel stuck on how to start assembling everything, it's overwhelming.
Just because it was confusing for you doesnt mean that it will be confusing for others. And you have to do a lot of mouse clicking with Fl Studio as well so i dont get your point.
