Your makeup looks wonderful and the color of your top definitely compliments you!! Thank you for all your videos; love them and they are so enjoyable to watch🥰
Oooo I have the Pastel Journey Tarot and love it!!! I had to have it because it's a deck with brown girls who have lavender hair, which I am as well! It also has a sapphic feeling about it, though in a very femme way. 💖💖💖
Thanks, Lisa . . . I always love your anti-hauls, but on this one in particular I was happy when you gushed about the Oak, Ash and Thorn mimi-deck. Especially when you went into detail about the cardstock. I love the original OA&T deck EXCEPT for the cardstock, which I can't stand. I know a lot of people love it, but I can't riffle-shuffle it (small hands), and the cards clump together when I shuffle hand-over-hand. Plus, the cardstock is simply too thick IMO. If the mini-deck has the same thinner cardstock as your prototype, I will consider picking it up if only to have a version of the deck that I can actually shuffle!
Stephanie confirmed the cardstock of the mini will be the same as the prototype! The only change from proto to final version is that the colors are a bit more saturated in the final version. I think you'll find this size and thickness to be much more comfy to shuffle!!! It's easier to shuffle than my US Games tinned decks but doesn't feel flimsy to me at all.
Thanks again, Lisa--great to have that confirmation about the cardstock being the same. You've just shifted this into the "definitely will buy" category for me. Because I love the deck, and it's also been the most requested deck among the (admittedly few) people I've read for other than myself. Gracias!
Beautiful...you're channeling Molly Ringwald with those eyes today. 🔥 LOVE your take on leaning in to what you've already got. We would all do well to follow that example. Here's to learning how not to buy at first sight. Thanks, Lisa. What a great share! ❤💜💙
My first time stumbling upon your channel! Let me know when you make that fantastic chakra deck I've been searching for a good one as well! I actually use Alana Fairchilds Mandala Oracle but it's not a chakra deck
My copy of Trippin Waite Stars Edition is currently on its way to me. So excited!!!!🧡💚🌟 ⭐ IF OAT mini would have been borderless I would have totally wanted it.
I must say you look gorgeous 🧁 your makeup and outfit is #onfleek .! Just wanted to say that despite all, you should try the Pastel Journeys tarot deck.! 30min before klickin on your video 🎬 I've just used it. It's one of my fav decks of all times. The material and energy of the cards is beyond amazing 💕 it's special in its own way and always tells a story 🌈 Would love to see you use it 😊 Xoxo Usagi 🐰💕
I actually have backed the Littlebug oracle - it'll be my first ever JN deck! But I'm getting at the level that comes with the travel-sized Monstarot, too, because I've been curious about it for ages. I don't know if I'll gel with it, or if I want it because I want to love it the way you love it, but I'm excited to find out! I think (hope) the Littlebug will go nicely with my Little Odd, Dark Mansion and Shadowlands tarots.
I haven’t seen all the cards in When My Soul Whispers but I’m wondering if you can turn them into Lenormands? My charka deck is Self Love Oracle by Akal Pritam. The moon witch reminds me of Moon Root Tarot that I love so much.
I’m so glad I introduced myself to your channel, I’m so entertained by your reflections on your decks! It inspires my own practice. As far as deck trimming goes, do you trim all of them manually (cut the sides, round the corners)? Or do you go to a local paper/art shop and have someone else do them to ensure that they’re even?
Welcome aboard! :D I use Dawn of Boho Tarot's method - using a guillotine trimmer, and rulers to frame where each card goes to ensure each card is trimmed exactly the same (or as close to it as I can get) and I use a corner rounding tool to do the corners. :) It never occurred t o me you could have a print shop do it for you lol When I FIRST started trimming, though, I did it by hand with scissors - it worked but wasn't nearly as even as the current way I do it! :)
I can't wait for your Chakra deck. I backed the Trippin Wait and I cannot wait for it. It made my hippie heart happy. And I am so excited to study with it.
I know it's an anti-haul video, but omg so many tempting decks in this one! And I'll have to check out Reflections sometime when I'm in the area! Do you have any other suggestions on shops that sell second hand decks? Thank you 💛
Gutted that I have missed the Trippin Waite stars ed, my borderless Trippin Waite is one of my most used, most requested decks for readings, I love using it. I'll buy a back up copy eventually. I don't see the Wooden Tarot on this list, so hoping that is a sign you might cave one day! I channeled my deck lust into helping a friend in the U.S get a vintage Balbi that I can post on which satisfied my shopping urge without increasing my collection. I did bid on a 2nd hand Tarot of the Vampyres after seeing your video though.
I have been wanting Oak Ash and Thorn Tarot came close in purchasing it before. But I will wait for the mini since I have small hands and I have hard time ripple shuffle regular size cards. L😂
I love your makeup! I agree with everything you talk about here because it just makes sense. I don't have most of these so I really don't have a bone to throw into the pot but I really enjoy this series because it grounds my spending habits and points to alternatives. Thank you ❤
I always look for videos by you when I am interested in a deck. I also really appreciate these videos where you encourage mindfulness in deck aquisition.
Oh if I'd have the monstarot and littlebug oracle I would love to use them in a more free flowing reading. Like everytime I'd get a tarot card featuring those little bugs I'd pull a oracle to see what they are trying to tell me
I have 10 decks that I am very bonded with - suddenly I am not tempted by other decks. I like Oak, Ash & Thorn's artwork but I am in US. I'm afraid to spend that much on a deck I'm just not sure I'd use. Deep down I think what I really want is another guidebook like Hidden Realm. That deck/book just set the bar so high for me - it hard to find something else. I own both Barbra Moore's Mystic Faerie & Shadowscapes. Shadowscape's art was so tiny - I never worked with it. But I want to read the book before I move it on. In July I am going to focus on the Faerie deck & book. So if anyone knows of a book (even if it's just a book) that has that literary journey feel as Hidden Realm let me know please. : )
If you enjoyed the Hidden Realm.... and are looking for a gorgeous animal deck... have you checked out the Pacific Northwest Tarot?? I think I have a walkthrough up here! Has a beautiful narrative style in the (admittedly smaller) guidebook!
I love my Monstarot and own other decks from Joanna but....... the Little Bugs oracle is so so cute 💙 but my love of the Monstarot is in the personality that shines through on the faces of the characters and for me the oracle just doesn't have that magic as gorgeous as it is.
Really enjoyed this! I'd love to see a walkthrough/deep-dive of that new chakra deck! Were you ever drawn to Shamanic Healing Oracle (by the same creator) or just Empathic Oracle? Oh dear, all the shine and cuteness on that Maruco deck, painful temptation! I wonder if in person that Pastel Journey Tarot would be too limited in color palette for you (SO much pink, followed by purple and teal). Rainbow Heart is how I resisted Trippin' Waite also! I thought I would be safe from temptation with that mini OAT, but the cardstock and...I want it! I don't mind quite a bit of overlap in a certain category if I love all the decks. But I don't want to end up with decks I don't *really* love (surprisingly easy to do), and I also don't want to blow the budget (like I've been doing lately). So thank you for this content!
Love that blouse, and you just generally look very well put together. I hadn’t notice that Mimit was a different system, now I’m even more excited for it. 😁 At some point, I am going to have to start decluttering decks, but my dragon heart doesn’t *want* to!
I keep talking myself out of the Maruco Animal and Food Tarot, but the Swords as baguettes keep pulling me back in! I know using it will just make me hungry. Thank you Lisa for another great video.
i'm so excited for the mini OAT! i generally prefer mini decks, they're 'normal size' for me usually since i have small hands. definitely signing up for their emails. excited about the dragon deck too.
I already backed the Earth & Bone oracle and the MIMIT tarot after seeing your hot takes 😊I feel like E&B will go really well with my darker Halloween/winter decks, and the trionfi system of the mouse deck intrigues me as I'm interested in historical Italian decks like the Tarocco Bolognese. The mini OAT looks very cute, but I think I'm going to hold out for the oracle they're working on (famous last words!)
Ah dang I missed Reflections! I was visiting Catherine on the island in the spring and we tried a couple of metaphysical shops in and around Victoria but I didn't get to spend any time in actual mainland Vancouver area :-(
holy smokes, did you get a better camera for your videos? Im not sure if thats the case or youtube finally started auto going to 1080 HD which prior they kept putting me down to 360 unsure why since my computer can handle it lol You look great today!!
Thanks!! Hehehe same camera I've been using for a while - but I did start filming from this angle only recently ;) YT sometimes drops me down too - it auto adjust sometimes if your internet is seeming slow and then sometimes it gets stuck there until you manually change it!
Thank you!! As for going all out - that's hilarious - because this was one of my speedier makeup looks LOL! It is the first time in a long time I've done an eyeshadow look with two shades only! Definitely a look I'll repeat - and it was so easy and fast! Yah Maruca is pricey for sure but it's absolutely gorgeous.... just don't think I need it - and sounds like you have the same 'scratch the itch' decks I do! ;)
New subscriber, here! You're very engaging and I loved listening to your thought process on which decks and why you've decided to keep / get rid of. I'm getting back into my own tarot studies, looking for a bit of inspiration, so thank you! Also, there are so many wonderful new decks out there since I last looked!
Well about the "feeling bad about not backing new deck of your favourite creator" - you can always back it anyway with the option just backing and not actually getting the deck...?
I've done that in the past for projects I wanted to ensure would meet their funding goal! :) I wasn't feeling guilty, just awkward. :D This one did make it's goal pretty quickly!
Surprisingly your anti-haul of the MiMit deck ended up reassuring me about getting it because now it’ll be my only trionfi deck and will have no competition in my library 🥰 so now I can get it feeling guilt free
I just wanted to say that you do a fantastic job with these videos! ❤️ I really enjoyed this, and it inspired me to hold off on a few decks that I don't really need. ❤️👍👍
ahhhh but the Maruco Art animal and food tarot is so good XD Also, thanks for making me want the Pastel Journey too! But I do love the intentional nature of a "deck library".
I almost backed that adorable mouse deck, but saw it was a system I don’t know at all. I still considered it just to have, but held back 💸 maybe it will be MM one day and I’ll reconsider!
@@Lisa_Papez your anti-hauls really help discourage my rose colors tarot glasses. It has really helped me learn how to really think through the use of a deck in my library. Even the purchases I make for collecting/aesthetic reasons only are more mindful.
The new hay house cardstock is bad because… I kid you not … it’s without a core. I noticed this while filming my review for the guardian angel messages tarot by radleigh, and I was at a loss for words when I could literally see through the cards. That should not be a thing.
Yep. You're absolutely correct. Now coreless can still be heavenly if done right though aka Oak Ash & Thorn! But Hay House's coreless is.... just not good at all.
This is the first video I’ve found of your channel and I absolutely love your energy! We enjoy similar deck themes so I particularly enjoyed this video! I’m so excited for all your future uploads. ✨
