People can have whatever opinion of Tectone they want, but I don't think anybody can deny that having podcasts where gacha content creators can talk and vibe is a fantastic idea. I was giga hyped for the episode with Smack, Volkin, etc. because I'd only ever seen that in the gacha space with people who were already friends and typically collab with each other. I hope he keeps this going, maybe once every other patch or so to talk about new characters. Then the pvp tournament happened (which I don't believe had anything to do with Tectone) and it was amazing! Anyway, loving this talk so far (roughly 10 minutes in). Thanks for sharing, Pokke!

The whole contoversy with Tectone began years ago because he reacted badly to a video simply debunking his take on Provence, a unit from Arknights. He thought he was being personally attacked, when the other creator was just trying to demonstrate a different opinion about the character. There's been a lot of negative bias and things since then that has further made his image worse (some of which was probably unjustified, but not all of it), but that's what started it.
The meme edits on tectones comments throught this video were rly funny...I'd love to see more collaborations...maybe a cn vs western takes meta wise with guoba or smack or both in a similar style video...but regardless great work...also a random idea I'd like to see is maybe some off meta videos from your perspective and I think I'd would rly interesting but regardless keep up the good work 👍

I'm a f2p with (almost) 50% crit chance and 124% crit dmg on my E2 Yukong. I got some pretty lucky rolls on some relics but yea the crit chance/dmg grind is rough. That's why I pulled on Kafka banner because DoT characters are easier to build and don't require crit chance/dmg.

I think the primary reason for why people dislike him so much can boiled down to 3 things he says a lot (or variations of those things): - "If you do [XYZ], you're a fucking idiot." This is where the anger starts. - "Can we all agree that [XYZ]?" This makes him believe he's never in the wrong, so he doesn't reflect on why people are angry. Minor disagreements are shoved under the rug, since people just move with the crowd. - "Look at all these people that are unreasonably angry at me. They're overreacting." He did nothing wrong, so people that are angry at him must be overreacting. He's basically publicly shaming them, making a spectacle out of it, and trying to gaslight them into thinking their anger is unjustified. And that just makes people angrier. The bucket has been full for a long time, but he keeps pissing in it. You can go look at basically any of his content, you'll see these 3 things repeated almost everywhere. It seems fine in a one-on-one conversation, and since his overall personality is generally quite likable it's easy to overlook these small things. I'm also genuinely willing to believe he's not doing these things on purpose and that's simply how he is. But as a content creator, he reaches a lot of people, and if even 1% of those people are angry because of what he said, that's still hundreds or even thousands of people. Whether that anger is unreasonable really depends on how long their buckets have been overflowing because of the things he's said.
Don't get me wrong, I tend to quite like his stuff. He's an overall good person to the people around him, and the things he does for the community are great. The only real gripe I have with him is the things I mentioned, and I really wish he would stop those

He keeps making fun of ppl, stirring up unnecessary drama within the community, leeching to other content creators, etc. And he promised to do better but in the end of the day he always back to his old ways. So far, he has not really done anything stupid in HSR and as long as he keeps it that way, he will be fine.

Tectone's stats on Seele are better than what I have on almost all of my characters. Only my Blade might have slightly better crit damage. My poor Jing Yuan and Dan IL are only at about 57/88 and 70/84 crit ratio respectively T_T I've been farming the quantum domain the last few days for my QQ and in preparation for Fu Xuan, and I've been getting absolute trash, with hardly a crit substat to be found. I don't understand how people get some of the crit ratios I've seen 🤷♀ To anyone reading this who has good crit stats on their characters, how long did it take you? And how many Fuels? I stopped refueling at 20 Fuels left because I'd rather save them so I can quickly level up whichever character I end up getting next.
I have a growing hate with single hit single target hunt unit, they are very punishing even with 70-80% crit rate + they are very squishy, thats why I wont pull for single target hunt again, Destruction all the way here.
I would say Tectone used to be very toxic and kinda of argued and harassed other content creators unintendedly. But I would say that recently, he has become much better now and I'm glad that he is.

And I watched one of the postcast with other content creators, and I saw him put in the effort to respect others' opinion. His content is not my cup of tea, so I'm not going to watch him. But I do acknowledge the effort that he made in order to change.

As someone who used to stream gacha, I think it's fair enough to say that the games leaned into that 'NO INTERACT UNLESS X' mentality. But that was also because the majority of gacha games were/still are PvP focused, even looking at the staples like Summoners war, clash of clans, epic seven and the things it stemmed from like Maplestory/Elsword etc where being the 'best' was a cause of rng and how much you spent to get the best gear, or how much you spent buying pulls for the latest OP unit or rerolling energy for gear daily or how much you spent on energy recording the perfect run etc.. (Sure you can make this weapon good by leveling it to +12 but you better give us $600 to do so, you can make the boss RNG behave the way you want and not insta kill you on the 3rd try etc.) It was in those days that you surely would never interact with someone who wasn't on the tier of whaling that you were, you could never trust the opinion of someone who didn't have THE BEST runes or THE BEST units, doing so would just be wrong because the guy who has the new thing said so. This shit was even YEARS before they tried to make stuff into an Esport.
