Thank you for watching! Don't forget to check my description box for links and important information. 😊
Here are some links to Permanent Makeup Tattoo Pens similar to the ones I use. The Pink one is the last one that I ordered. However, like I say in the video, it's hard to find a reliable source for these pens. 2 out of 4 pens that I have ordered in the past came missing something necessary to make it work. And not all pens are created the same, so the parts are not universal.
Silver Tattoo Pen (BEST): amzn.to/3gVCiDF
Needles: amzn.to/3gUo5Hk
Permanent Makeup Ink: I used darkest brown mixed with Medium Ash for my eyebrows. I also added a few drops of a Medium Brown
Darkest Brown : amzn.to/2z8jGHS
Dark Brown : amzn.to/2xGeJdh
Medium Ash: amzn.to/2ghNjCT
Light Brown: amzn.to/2yo9f5L
Light Taupe : amzn.to/2yo9f5L
Things You Should Know/Rules to Follow:
⦁ Steralize, Steralize, Sterlize. You don't ever want to use anything twice. A needle or the applicator that holds the needle in place. It's just not safe and you risk infection
⦁ Do not tweeze eyebrows 2 days prior to tattooing, the ink will settle into those holes
⦁ Do not use tap water to clean anything!! If you are going to use a water solution to clean while you're going along, use purified water! You risk infection if you use tap water.
⦁ I would stay away from anything with the color black in it. If you have really dark eyebrows like I do, I would go with a dark brown. Black tends to change colors under the skin and you don't want to end up with shades of green, blue or gray. I've seen it, and it's not easy to fix.
After Care:
⦁ Expect the color to look SUPER intense and the area around the edges to look pink, the skin has been traumatized
⦁ Clean your eyebrows one last time and apply an ointment to keep them moist (I use vaseline).
⦁ When your eyebrows are healing you should keep them moist at all time, but you want them to be able to breath. They are essentially open wounds on your face, so they do need oxygen and they do need to breath in order to heal properly. If you use something like vaseline, you risk trapping dirt or bacteria near the wound and it becomes a nice moist breeding ground for infection. There is so much debate on what the best ointment is to apply to your freshly tattooed eyebrows so I would just do some research and make a informed decision.
⦁ Itching is normal, do not scatch. Scratching off a scab or crust can take some of the pigment with it.
⦁ Don't plan on washing your hair for a few days. You don't want water running onto the area that you permanently tattooed. You risk infection, and you risk not allowing your permenent makeup to heal properly
⦁ If you take a shower, you should apply Vaseline to protect your tattoo. However, you should remove it once you get out and apply a breathable ointment
⦁ Do not scratch off any scabs

Oh, my gosh! I LOVE this video. Thank you so much. And I love how you mentioned about how trends come and go. These thick, caterpillar eyebrows will be out of style in 5 years. :) Also, like you, I am a post-90's overplucker. And, along with taking meds for my RA, my brows have thinned and fallen out. I have been wanting to do my own brows for so long, this video is exactly what I needed. Thank you!!

Rhonda Quintero I agree! I feel like I’m already seeing less emphasis on super thick brows. All it takes is one popular celebrity to sport a thinner brow and it will become the latest trend. Lol! 🤪😘

I just found your channel and I’m loving all of your videos. I am 42 and also suffer with hypothyroidism. You are so brave to do this on your own!! I had microblading and don’t like it at all. Fortunately, it has faded considerably in the last couple of years and is hardly noticeable. Keep making videos. You are a joy to watch!!

Great info and if you feel confident doing it yourself and you have had good results, then by all means keep doing it! I recommend going thicker...adding volume to the top of the brow, especially at the ends.

I don't have a need for this, but watched the whole thing lol. I found it so interesting and you're so brave. You do a fantastic job! You should start your own in home eyebrow tattoo business. I know that would even be more scarier doing other people's eyebrows though. You look beautiful with your eyebrow shape, works great on your face and I agree eyebrow thickness changes so quickly on what is in style. Lots of love❤~Holly

I agree with you completely about when someone else makes the mistake (and you're paying), verses you doing it. I have been cutting my own hair since a huge botch job a year ago. Also, I had my brows tatooed and paid a pretty penny and all I have to show for it is scar tissue and out of a lot of money. I have no color and no hair barely grows now! Sucks

You are one BRAVE lady. I had my eyebrows tatooed about 14 years ago and I HATED them. They turned a purple-gray color and I had to have them touched up almost yearly. I've always thought to myself...why don't they do individual strokes that replicate hair and last year I found someone that does just that. She tried to correct the color fade out first then overlayed with strokes and widened them just enough that I love them now. I still touch up with powder as the color from the years and years of the wrong color still show through. I can at least live with them now. Yours look amazing...good job!
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty 7 лет назад
So glad you like them now 😊 Out of curiosity what was wrong with the color? Like I said in the video, I would always avoid colors with the word "black" in them. Black tends to change colors (green, blue, gray).
@cathyinmt
@cathyinmt 7 лет назад
Since I was at the mercy of the artist...and I use that term loosely...I don't know what color they used. I have to say that in all those years of touchups I went to probably 3 different people. So that being said...I wasn't in on the color choices. The color is so ingrained I don't think they will ever NOT be gray. Oh well...hopefully someone reads this and does their research well.

Sarah Stroud I had mine done about a month ago and it was scary! With me I had barely any and it was quite a change. It was also darker than what I imagined. But over 2 weeks the brows healed and the color was at half what it was when applied. I am going for my touch up in about a week and I am very happy with them.
@Katya2U
@Katya2U 4 года назад
Hi there, Sarah. Soooo...I had my eyebrows tattooed (not microbladed) several times and microbladed once. Here's what I think: even they used a tattoo pen or gun, if you wish, the tattoo lasted SO much longer. And it was SOOOO much less painful than microblading. Microblading was very painful, even with a numbing cream on and being applied through out the procedure and you could hear that scratching noise (😱😳) and they didn't last looking good (the eyebrows) for more than a year and half, I'd say. Soooo NOT with the pain and money. If you have your eyebrows tattooed a hair stroke technique, that's what I did, they'll look beautiful for I'd say at least 4 years, before you'd need any touch up. Also do NOT be scared to hiiiii much much darker AND I'd say at least twice wider than what you'd want your eyebrows to look like after they heal. Trust me. I could send you couple pictures of what mine looked like RIGHT after and like 10 days later. Hope this helped. So no to microblading👎 YES to a tattoo👍

@Beauty101byLisa
@Beauty101byLisa 7 лет назад
I have 3 artificial prodisc implants in my neck and low back. Any person with total joint replacement or artificial heart valve needs to be premedicated for even a dental cleaning. We are at higher risk for infection because bacteria could travel in the blood to the site of a prosthetic device. I told my surgeon that I was going to get a tattoo to cover the scar on my belly and he said, "Not a good idea to risk your life for a tattoo." I am glad I told him because I would never have known :-) I have always wanted to get permanent makeup tattoos so I will just live vicariously through you XOXO

Jenifer, the answer is yes to all of them. I had mine done by one of the pioneers of permanent makeup. His work was truly amazing! I had my eyebrows, some eyeshadow, top & bottom eyeliner and full lips done. The only one I personally would recommend (and would do again if needed) is the eyeliner, mine still looks like it was just done except the color is more blue then black. Love my eyeliner! The rest, especially the eyebrows, I wish I had never done but that's just me. You did a great job on yours as you followed your natural brow shape. Also, you can keep up with it and adjust it as you age because you can do it yourself.

I had it done in july, and the refill a month and a half later. The refill is standard procedures, and next time will be about a year, the lady in the salon said. It will fade out gradually, so I have no idea how soon it actually will dissapper. Anyhow, it is so worth it, not have to do all the eyebrow makeup in the morning, and save me a lot of time. And best of all, knowing my brows look good and 'in place' throughout the day 😄How often do you have to do touch up?

I think you did a great job just be careful with the oils, it's just best to use petroleum / A&D jelly because some oils that penetrate can cause migration of color, and that color can bleed into other parts of the dermis. You can add a little bit of an ashy green (olive pure pigment) base to get rid of that reddish tone. I'm a certified semi permanent make-up artist.

You did a really good job: the shape suits your face and I think the color matches great. However, I would make your eyebrows a bit longer at the ends. Thanks for doing this demonstration!

A&D! & Don't, never ever touch the scab, it WILL take ink with it! mostly, let us not forget "numbing cream"! I too have Hashimotos thyroiditis, it's so cruel and a mega bummer! We woman know what we want, diy is the best! Thank you doll..!

You did amazing, Jenifer! I got my brows microbladed and it took me sooooo long to find someone I trusted, long story short, she was in an accident and has not been able to do provide the service anymore. Not sure if I'll be getting any touch ups for a while. So I'm stuck now LOL.

Thank you Brooke! 💗 That's terrible that she was in an accident! It's also terrible that you're going to have to find someone new to go to. It's not easy to find someone you trust will do things exactly like you want them to. Hope you're having a wonderful weekend!

You can use a dr pen/ derma pen! They make 1r 3r 5r etc size needles for them. If you have a dr pen already just get needles, if you don’t then the tattoo pen is cheaper but if you get a dr pen /derma pen you can use it for microneedling your face!! So it’s not a one time use thing and they last a long time! Also the cheapest place to get them is eBay! If in the USA then make sure it’s a us seller!

Bactericide is a medication you need to keep infection away. Also, cleaning everything with watered down bleach is better than alcohol. If using alcohol, use 90% alcohol. If using water to dilute, always use distilled to avoid bacteria. 🙏🏻

Thanks for all the helpful information. I have done this before but by hand. I was wondering about a machine and think I may invest in one. Next time you do a touchup, try using manuka honey (with the highest bio activity score you can find) to keep your eyebrows moist. As I mentioned, I did mine by hand and used the honey. I healed faster and my brows stayed nice and moist without looking super greasy. Thanks again!

You’ve got guts for trying this but I feel that it’s something I could do as well. I actually got mine done about a year ago and had them powder tattoo’d. I did a lot of research before I settled on the gal who did mine and I have to say that she’s absolutely amazing. They look like my own brows but just taken up a notch and I can go without any products in mine but like you choose to add something as well. Heck, they look so natural that my husband hasn’t even noticed! If you look back on my old videos or search it you’ll see my first time and then a second video after I had my touchup. I think that when it comes to reviews that you read it’s the people who are unhappy that tend to leave a review and the happy ones just go on with life. I thought I wanted the microbladed brows at first but after seeing her work, I fell in love with her style of tattooing. If any one lives in the Portland, Oregon area look up Jein King and you’ll see what I mean. She’s booked up in advance too so be prepared for a wait. Again I’m at that one year mark and I don’t feel like I need to go in anytime soon to get them touched up but I do love them. Now you have me thinking about trying it myself since I can just fill them in.
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty 7 лет назад
Oh that's awesome! If I were going to get them professionally done I would've gotten the powder tattoo technique as well. I think the hair stroke microblading technique looks incredible, but I've read that it requires a lot of touch ups to keep it looking like individual hair strokes. I think you're right about the disgruntled being more likely to express themselves online. I'm going to go check out your videos! I'm so glad you're happy with the results! 😊

Is there any way to tell before you actually apply it if the color has red or orangey undertone? I def need an ash with NO red undertone. That is my biggest fear. Is there any way to know before applying?
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty 7 лет назад
I'm really not sure to be totally honest. However, I've seen artists here on youtube, apply some swatches to the skin above the eyebrows to allow the client to choose a color that they feel best suits them. Again though, I would stay away from any ink color that has the word "black" in it. Black tends to change to shades of green, blue or gray over time. Not sure why, but I've seen it on other people.

I was literally about to start touching mine up but I seen your video and I’ve never seen an electric device. I have a simple hand held one that you just apply the ink and start stroking but I’m now interested in purchasing a device like yours because I think it will be much more effective. Your brows look amazing btw! I’ve dumped over $700 into my brows and I’m so over paying money every year to touch them up, so I’m going to do it myself😏

I've had 2 bad experiences with other people doing my brows so I've wanted to do it myself for years! I've just never taken the plunge! I'm one of those people- I learned (at an accredited school) to do acrylics, gel nails because I was sick of the hacks in most salons & will basically learn to do anything that I need done so that I don't have to rely on other people who may not be good at their job or even just having a bad day (cos you can guarantee that that's the day I will walk in!). Like you, I don't want to do anything drastic, I just want to fill in the sparse hairs so that I can go without doing some sort of makeup every damn day! Lol! I have a friend who is an amazingly talented tattooist so I've also considered asking him to do it for me. I know that he has a lot more experience (he's been tattooing all day, every day for 15-20 years) than these beauticians who took a quick course.
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty 7 лет назад
Oh no! I'm curious to know what you didn't like about your past experiences. But that's exactly why I took matters into my own hands. I was too afraid someone else wouldn't get my "vision" or understand that I wanted to keep my natural shape and not do their own thing, or do whatever is trending at the moment. Lord knows we've ALL had a bad haircut at some point for those reasons. And although it was really scary (because it's permanent) and a little painful, I had so much room for error, I wasn't too worried about messing things up. 😊 I bet your tattoo artist friend could do a fantastic job! But just be sure you use ink that is meant for the face. 💗

I'm so impressed, that you are tattooing (is this a usable verb????) your eyebrows by yourself. I admire this!! And you managed it, that the brows are both the same!!! How often do you have to repeat this procedure? Perhaps you mentioned it in your video but i have so much to concentrate myself to understand all sentences. But 95 % i understand/i'm able to translate it. And again: please excuse my poor english and the simple words i'm using! I'm always looking forward to your next video(s)!💗💗💗💗
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty
@JeniferJenkinsBeauty 7 лет назад
The first time I did this was 4 yrs ago and each year I have gone one line thicker. Lol! I'm not sure how often this would need to be repeated. The only reason I continue to do it year after year is because I want to go thicker, not because the color has faded. But I have gone over areas that I've done in the past, only because I wasn't happy with the color I chose the first couple times. I just didn't feel it was a good match to my natural color, so I went darker. 💗

You Rock!! I have a question. I tried doing my eyebrows at home and for some reason the ink didn’t take it. I did it with black ink. At first I used L1 needle but I feel like it was not showing the outline so I used MR3. That works better. Still after it crack. The whole ink came off with it. What do you think I did wrong?
