I teach Avery how to cut and glue 

In this video Avery is two-years old and I bought a little set of cut and glue projects suitable for 2-year olds. I had to teach Avery how to hold scissors and make a straight cutting motion. I also purchased a large glue stick instead of white glue or paste to help her stay neat as she applied the glue. The plastic scissors were not the highest quality and would only cut if held at a perfect angle and the paper stayed at a 90 degrees to the scissors. This could be frustrating to Avery and I would help her on occasion to keep the scissors straight or the paper straight. She became very good at identifying the cutting lines and cutting each piece out. She had a little trouble handling the glue stick and keeping the glue off of her fingers. The projects were well within her abilities and they came out very cute when they were completed. She really enjoyed learning how to cut and glue.
