The rise of AI poses a looming threat to Hollywood's film and tv industry.🤖 WGA screenwriters are striking against film studios in an attempt to regulate the use of AI in productions.🪧 Today, we are going to test whether AI can write popular television shows better than professional screenwriters.📝 Will AI be able to write compelling script scenes? Can this technology replace Hollywood writers? In this experiment, we'll compare the original pilot scripts of three popular shows, "Wednesday," "Succession," and "White Lotus," to the AI's version.👀 Subscribe, and I hope you enjoy the video!

What did you think of the AI's script scenes?🤖

Very much hoping AI doesn’t take over the screenwriters! The film industry’s future really jeopardized right now. I’m pretty sure it won’t happen, since writers need to be on set to make sure everything is going alright and making the script better. Also, and there are script supervisors that have jobs to do, etc. Hoping you can still become a screenwriter tho!!!❤

@aliusaho7537 the thing is, no matter how advanced or "close" to human intelligence that AI gets, it will never be able to truly replicate empathy. and in the end, empathy is what drives creativity. you can't convert emotions or our innately human understanding of them into ones and zeroes, no matter how much dating apps or chat gpt tried to convince you that they can. our empathy is what separates us from the animals, and now it's what's gonna separate us from AI.

Alright, about AI, how did you create that AI prompt, what context did you put in, and how many times did it run? Also, what version of GPT did you use? It's useful to know. There is a huge difference between GPT 3.5 and GPT 4 - there's a year between them. Probably, In the future, something like a GPT 6 might even write scripts just like a human. But it doesn't mean everyone working with information will be jobless. We'll just have to adapt to this technology. Thanks a lot for video!

I just asked AI this: write me an opening scene to a teen rom-com movie where we open at a high school everyone is normal except a young girl named summer who has a wheelchair and she as to try to navigate her hard life.... This is what they came up with The camera pans across a crowded high school hallway, filled with students laughing, talking, and jostling each other. Everyone seems to be having a great time, except for one girl. Summer is sitting in her wheelchair, watching the other students with a mixture of envy and sadness. She wants to be like them, to be able to run and jump and laugh without a care in the world. But she knows that's not possible. She's been in a wheelchair since she was a little girl, and she's used to being different. Summer sighs and pushes her wheelchair down the hallway. She's on her way to her first class, English. She's not looking forward to it. She knows that the other students will stare at her, and she'll probably be the subject of their whispered conversations. But Summer takes a deep breath and pushes on. She's not going to let her disability define her. She's going to live her life to the fullest, just like everyone else. Summer arrives at English class and takes a seat in the back. The teacher, Mr. Smith, starts talking about the day's lesson, but Summer can't concentrate. She's too busy worrying about what the other students are thinking about her. Suddenly, Summer feels a tap on her shoulder. She turns around and sees a boy standing there. He's tall and handsome, with dark hair and blue eyes. "Hi," the boy says. "I'm Jake. I just wanted to say that I think you're really brave." Summer is taken aback. "Brave?" she asks. "Why?" "Because you're in a wheelchair," Jake says, "and you're still going to school and doing everything that everyone else does. That takes a lot of courage." Summer blushes. "Thanks," she says. "That means a lot." Jake smiles and sits down next to Summer. They start talking, and Summer quickly realizes that Jake is a really nice guy. He's funny and smart, and he makes her feel comfortable. For the first time in a long time, Summer feels like she belongs. She's not just the girl in the wheelchair anymore. She's just a girl, like everyone else. I'm Kinda impressed

The AI wasn't really doing anything. It was entirely dependent on the prompts. Where the IA did well, it was using precise details provided in the prompts. Where it had to come up with something on its own, it was dull, generic, and generally unimpressive. I knew this would be the case before I started watching. I knew in the early 1990s when I first read James Cameron's screenplay for "Aliens." The opening words -- and this is from memory -- are: SPACE. The stars shine like the love of God: cold and remote. One day, AI may be able to set a tone that effectively, that efficiently, but by that time, we'll have to worry about giving it civil rights, and whether or not it will let humanity survive. Employment for writers will be the least of our problems.

I tried to write one paragraph for one of my books with this, because I was stuck with the story. I had to tell it to at least rewrite it 5 times with different instructions each time and then modify it. However it was very useful to get out of that writer's block. I also find it very useful to filter information, that way if you have to make research is easier. I'm not saying it's the only tool you should use, but for example if you know nothing about Ireland and you want to know possible real locations in Ireland for your scene, you might just ask AI to tell you 10 beautiful places and then you check them in other sources to see if that's what you're looking for. I also found AI-generated art useful to have a picture in mind of specific places that don't exist anymore, like kingdoms, mansions, etc., especially if there's not a lot of information out there about that specific time.

I am an astronomer, and in astronomy, AI is used extensively to identify galaxies, stars etc, so I am very familiar with how it works -- I will just say that AI works by human beings "training" it to do so certain things, and then the machine can do that very well . If the scripts produced by current AI is not considered "good" enough, that's because the machine has not been trained with enough "good" scripts, and can't replicate writing those "good" scripts ... ... for the mean time. BTW, I don't think that AI will replace screen-writers, but I do think that screen-writers will learn to use AI to churn out scrips, both good and bad.

Except, everyone who read mine says I'm too "flowery" with my action lines. Despite the fact they were concise. Also, the way the AI wrote these screenplays is what they told me to replicate. I have to mention I got this advice before ChatGPT came around. I have no idea if they were trying to sabotage me or if they didn't know anything about screenwriting at all.

Hey Makayla, I loved the video I thought it was great and brought a new perspective on how impactful and needed writers are in our movie life. I am fully on your side when it comes to this discussion as an AI might be able to write but will never be able to feel and feeling is the one element that an actor needs to portray the best stories, writers are way to valued in this industry to be replaced by a source that cant and will never experience true life, true emotion or even truth in this world. This video has also shown me the importance of the English language and has helped me see what techniques might be useful for the play I need to create in drama. I am very fond of acting and would love to start, thanks to you I have found the wonderful source backstage to help me begin this journey. As I have just took my first few steps into this journey I do not have enough support, supplies or money for necessities like acting classes or good camera quality. So I was wondering if in a new video maybe you could show some great activities and task to help improve our acting abilities kind of like coaching us through a small acting class and showing us things to make us a better actor/actress. Thankyou for all the videos you have made they are all so inspiring and have helped me through small steps of trying to start my acting career, I understand if this idea does not turn into a video I just thought I would tell you because for some reason it feels like I would have your support over a lot of people I know, also I am pretty desperate to get better at acting as being actress is a dream that I don't just want to just feel at night but experience in the day to. I appreciate everything you have done, keep on inspiring people and having fun I will be alongside watching your journey that you share as you have started mine. Thankyou very much Makayla Lysiak. AI is like asking anyone, they can give you really good ideas, characters, and starting points but AI can’t write full scripts that are good or original
@1138prometheus

Thanks for the demonstration! That was cold with just your setup! See you're asking the wrong question. Can AI write well enough to produce with the guidance of a good showrunner TV product people will watch. Not the Emmy award show level but the generic stuff a lot of TV writers pump out as content. This would allow you to produce an average season of TV without the the cost of writers room. I think you only have to look to the writers panic to see that they have answered that question "yes"

I also tested this on ChatGPT and I feel that AI couldn’t replace writers as the script doesn’t have any personality. It also says everything your character is doing when we can see it. I asked for broadway and I only get half of what I asked for. It was horrible and when I said to change it the only thing it would change is the music letter ; I asked it to change the lyrics and that’s what I gave me. The first time I asked it said it was very close to another musical and it would get copy righted. That is a good sign AI won’t replace writers. #WeWriteYouWrong

I got to say, the AI script is kind of making me laugh because it reminds me of Terminator 2 where John points out the way the Terminator talked. I'm a bit disappointed Wednesday didn't say "affirmative" anyway in the script. Also I wonder if the people who speculate that AppleTV movie “Ghosted” might actually have been written by AI because the script reads like something the studios only paid a writer to come up with a idea and base draft, then they just used cheaper AI to actually write the script. Forgot to add: "Spider"

Spider 🕷 The way that the AI wrote the scripts were ok but human writers definitely is more creative. I love watching tv and it wouldn’t be as good of a tv show if an AI wrote it. Thank you for making these videos ❤

To me I think the Original Scripts are perfect as they are Hollywood CEO's shouldn't take advantage on AI Programms to take over their Employer's job because every Media company needs a Screenwriter not an AI Robot behind the Computer screen that's just my Opinion but overall this has to be one of my best favorite videos so far keep up the good work Makayla

In some ways, AI seemed to write more like a novel rather than a script. I think AI could write books well, but not scripts.

This was such a cool exercise!!! I'm writing minutes from a meeting (I'm a paralegal) and this really helped me stay focused typing. 😂 Also, i can definitely see how AI will change SO much in different industries. In Law, a lot of admin/clerks/associates are being cut due to tech and you can tell the quality is poorer. BTW im working on Labor Law which is so appropriate on this topic❤😅

It can't write exactly like a person would, but it can write really fast. A lot faster than a person can. A person can't write a rough draft and outline that fast. It definitely will replace some of the work involved with writing. I don't see why someone wouldn't put their story outline into a writing AI. People with AI will be able to write better than people without AI. The AI script gives material to critique and interject human touches. Like what was done in this video. That's already a technique. AI shortens this process down. You can have it produce several versions of the story you want to write, read through them, and that will help you create a finalized version.
