They tend to screw some pokemon upon release. It will eventually get a move update, we know this. They do stuff like this possibly not to disturb the meta or some things in game if they gave the pokemon an optimal move set upon release. It has access to a lot of stuff. Some in POGO already some maybe they will add as a special thing. It's probably going to get rock slide for flying coverage. Body Slam for spam or some off coverage move like Grass Knott or Gunk Shot LOL

They're both Simian pokemon, related to apes, monkeys, mandrills, Baboons and such. The starter Grookey is a simian, Oranguru is and Oranguru is right before Passimian on Sword Shield Pokedex. Seems like they wanted to add a lot of simian type pokemon in Sword and Shield. Galar is based on Great Britain so maybe they wanted to add them because Britain and Europe in General does have monkeys in the wild in places.

And negate all of the time & resources players have put into building their PvP pokémon roster, yeah that's not going to happen ... Niantic chose to base PoGo's combat stats system on the CP system/formula as a simplified version of the 7IV system used by the main series games, and trying to rework the system at this stage is just going to break a whole lot more than it would ever fix. Powerful mons with high base stat totals (think legendaries, mythicals, pseudo legendaries, Ultra Beasts etc) often don't work as well in the lower CP great & ultra league formats because they have to be at a much lower level to squeeze under the CP cap compared to comparatively weaker/lower base stat total mons. There are some mons that do work best in Great & Ultra Leagues as high/hundo IV, but generally Master League is where you need all the high/IV mons (and that means maxed out to level 50 with the full investment of XL candies)
