0:52 Lofi panda is what I reach for when I want just “a sound” and am consciously working to not grab my go to. Like “Piano, okay. Let’s open Alicia’s K- no WAIT!” Then I try to use something from a plugin I - like you - have but haven’t explored. Now, I don’t START with an obscure pack. I reach for it when I want something obscure in a beat I’m making.
At 1:22 you played a chord and it's the exact same as the opening chord from "Quiet and Falling" from the Celeste OST. The same key, same voicing, even similar sound. It caught me so off guard! It is indeed SUCH a beautiful chord tho!
Bro i'm begging you to make some of these samples into ambient beats inspired by Aphex twin because you're right on the brink of it I can just hear it.
I have two approaches to plugins. A) minimalist: to force myself to improve on engineering fundamentals. B) fuck it: chances are this one can do the shit I’ve been trying to figure out between several basic plugs.
16:16 arturia is what I reach for IMMEDIATELY if I need 80’s sounds. Not only do they have a ton of convincing vintage emulations like this all throughout their main bundle, they also have the emulated stock presets plus some others that was used legendarily by some folks. So when I’m on RU-vid and they are breaking down what say, Prince did or Michael Jackson or Genesis, I can play along. It doesn’t just SOUND like it, it LOOKS like it with a gui that lets you follow the music documentary. Pretty fire. And their onboard marketplace is hella fire too. You can buy presets from other random users.
Umm.... Ed!!!! You are not gonna just speed past that vocal chain bruh! Those vocals were fire!!!! We need the chain sir 😌 lol ...... thanks for great content as always.
14:01 okay, I know a kid who has a PhD (Dr. Harris) in like Germanic opera or something. Also sound and kind of look like John legend when he wants to. Wanted to work with him and he ghosted me. He dropped an album and one of the songs is a negro spiritual called Good News. So I took that and did a poor man’s granular synth using a tuning plugin and Serato Sample 1.5. In Serato, I grabbed random snippets of 1-3 wave cycles - really short. Threw it in keyboard mode and hit C3 on my midi keyboard. Resembled that, opened melodyne and made sure it was dead on C3. Each time, it sounded like a different instrument but it was just his educated fancy book lurnin operatic voice. 🤣 the organs, the strings, the plucks - all him. Then I chopped him up saying “Aiiin’t uh that GOOD NEWWWWWS” all Jim Crow/Fisk Jubilee Singers sounding. Then I made a trap beat out of Dr. Harris. Called it “Harris News”. It’s on my SoundCloud under the same name I have here. Not gonna spam y’all. But THIS??!? This plugin HERE? It seems to sample different segments of different granularities and in different ways in real time to create pad-like ambiance’s in lieu of just verb impulses. I also have this in a bundle, I think. When I recover my drive I lost, I’m finna try it.
Infinity EQ is my go-to EQ. Functionality-wise Fabfilter is still better but for just EQing out a certain frequency infeq is just the best EQ I've ever had
I've tried Efx Fragments and I got overwhelmed (same with Efx Motions which is kinda similar but different) but I like the idea of taming it with the mix control.
@@aspiringjoker2883 Oh yeah I can hear that too, but if you want to know what we're talking about, the dark fantasy ai trend on tiktok is nearly 80% identical without the drums
You cannot make this shit up, dude! Ed, do you believe in coincidences? I do not. Welcome onboard, sailor. This message is part of history, period. I'll explain why in the future. Suffice to say, Ed was "dada-dada-dada-dadading" to the rhythm of the song of a Dragon. I know, it sounds like crazy talk, but I am bold enough to tell you that this post will blow the lid off the internet more than just one single day. This is sending a shivering feeling down the back of this human body! 😮
The icing on the cake, guys, (especially for those among you who always doubted my words - hey there, naysayers 👋 😂👍 🖕 😆👍), the most mind-blowing this has is the timing. Hint: the time shown in the video 😮😮😮🤯 This is basically a very strong meme, if you will. If you want to know more about this, and how to do the same, look into this further. This is all so Divine, so amazing!
Hey, I want you to make my dream song with all the things I like: I hate vocals I love tech music with I pretty nice electronic synthesizer Add a bass for the beat and 808s With a futuristic feel.😃
