I know people are going to say "Well the world's longest flight is to JFK" so that is why I proved it was actually longer flying out of Newark! Also I highly recommend Singapore Airlines + The worlds longest flight😁
Please note that an Airbus A320 had metal parts come off after takeoff.... The incident occurred on July 2nd, 2024 at JFK airport. So... Boeing is now not the only one I guess? (I know that Boeing have more incidents than Airbus, you don't need to tell me that.)
Fun fact: The reason why the EWR and JFK route times differ each day and time is because of the route the plane takes. Sometimes they go east over europe and Asia, they can go over the north pole, or sometimes west over canada and the pacific making one slightly longer than the other. Great video!
My 5 year old is obsessed by your channel! We flew Aer Lingus yesterday and he was doing comfort tests, commenting on the wear and tear and the tray tables as if he was you!
Dang, 19 hours. You're a trooper! When the entertainment system glitched it reminded me of years when we flew long haul in 747s with absolutely zero entertainment or maybe, maybe a film (yes, a film) would be projected on one screen per cabin and everyone had to watch the same movie. Flying from LAX to Hong Kong for the first time in 1986, that all just was normal for us. Argh! Some things have gotten better!
Hello Erick, just caught the video. It was so amazing. I love these videos, keep up the great work! I wish I can joined ya or tried it for my self. I love the hard effect you put in. Keep up the great hard and strong work.
I've actually done this flight! I went from Newark to Singapore! The first time, I was going to India to see my grandparents. When I was heading to Singapore, I was in premium economy. Not the best legroom, but I was able to do it for 19 hours. Then, we went to India. Coming back from Singapore to Newark, we got business class seats! So it was a lot more bearable. Great airline, 10/10. You said there was a ton of room on your seat, but for mine there wasn't a lot lol.
Love it. I do this route 4 rounds per year. SQ makes it easy. Interesting you didn't mention about the leg rest. But book the chef is the way to go, there are way more options going from Singapore to NY. Oh yea, you can order refreshments like instant noodles and etc anytime throughout the flight. They keep you fed. The "Q" in SQ stands for "Quality". No joke, so not many airline compares up to SQ. The shitty part is when you have to fly another carrier,m especially like AC and you instantly realized how far behind they are.
I wonder if Singapore Airlines will order a more premium-heavy version of the Project Sunrise planes, which will allow economy to be added as well as a small first class section (essentially replacing their B77W fleet).
LOVE THESE VIDEOS SO MUCH!!! They’re so amazing!! Can’t believe you’ve gotten so far, I remember watching your first airline video! maybe you can do Flysafair or a South African airline one day? Idm either way all your videos are amazing!
So, earlier this july, i flew my first long haul flight from salt lake City to Paris on delta airlines. Approximately 9 hours in the air plus 15 minutes on a not busy taxiway because our gate was occupied, and i genuinely was surprised at how alive i felt, considering my previous longest flight wasnt even half that length. The food was also amazing (this occurred after the passenger got sick from the chicken) and i walked around almost every hour or so (i didn't sleep in an effort to combat jet lag - it worked) Honestly a great experience overall and am excited to see how klm compares on a similar length flight out of Amsterdam
Singapore airlines for me has always been amazing! I fly economy from Australia to Singapore, Singapore to Frankfurt and from there to Sweden where I’m from. Singapore airlines has always given everyone a warm towel, snacks, and you can always ask for more. They are always happy to help you and you always feel like they care and take care of you. And the food is not to bad either 🥰 I have heard they might start a 22h + flight from Sydney to America 😅
Tip for long haul flights: wake up as early as possible on the morning of the flight and then just fall asleep naturally due to exhaustion on the plane then you’ll sleep for about 2 hours and then wake up and fall asleep about 6 hours later continue that cycle until you land
Fun fact: When Singapore Airlines started this service, they initially used the A340-500. This would easily make the trip, but would chew through fuel and make it difficult for Singapore to make a profit. They switched their 5 A340s to Business class only, which did help, but not everyone would be able to take the flight. Furthermore, increased fuel prices got so bad, that Singapore Airlines had to pause the World's longest flight. When they restarted the service, the A350-900ULR took over from the A340, and has been that way ever since.
I really enjoy these review Eric because of the truthfulness and Funniness added into the video. Thanks for the great vids, Eric. Also, can you review the Canadian VIA train route that goes from Union to Vancouver vs the Rocky Mountaineer? Its the worst vs best long haul train rides in Canada. It will be great if you can try to do this vid. ❤❤
You're a trooper! Ever since I moved to Australia I've been testing a lot of these "longest flights ever", almost 16h from San Francisco to Sydney, I had time to watch the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy. Not to mention that flying over the date line and travelling through time is incredibly impressive lol
I’m from Singapore, sat this long haul flight to and fro while visiting my relatives in the US. Only drawback was JFK airport broke my luggage twice while other domestic airports within the US didn’t. That makes me want to try EWR next time.
Great video…another tip about “Book The Cook” - there are WAY more options if you use that feature. I’m flying to SIN from LAX in October in Premium Economy (a little over 17 hours) and there were 17 options, at least, when I booked my meals - all categorized by geographic region. The selections were amazing!!! I always feel bad for folks that have trouble adjusting their body clocks…I can basically fall asleep on a plane whether the sun is shining, whatever time it is, at least if I’m not in a cramped regular economy seat. Once I’m on a plane I just tell my body it’s the time of my destination, totally forget about what time it is at home, and sleep as much as I can on the flight. Once, I’m at my destination, I’m good…rarely have any jet lag issues. I realize I’m fortunate in this regard, but I do think it helps to force yourself to stop thinking about what “time it is at home.”
I flew SIN to JFK last year with Singapore business. In September, I’m flying IAH-MAN-SIN also with Singapore business. The experience with Singapore was so good, I don’t mind being the sky that long!
I'm convinced Eric has personal beef with Boeing. He says he doesn't need a safety card if its an airbus because it's not a Boeing. Great videos keep it up!
In the Arctic and Antarctic you can tell whether it’s day or night by the season. If it’s Summer in the north, you’ll have 24hrs day and 24hrs of night in the south. If you’re in Spring or Autumn, you can see a normal regulating pattern of day and night
I love Singapore airlines I want to get longest flight with my family two years ago or something and I love them because of their employees. Their crew is just so nice and it was a great experience. I love their music when you're gonna land and it's great overall.
I’ve been on a long flight before, my longest flight was from Sydney, Australia to Los Angeles, CA and it was nice. I took American Airlines. That was a connecting flight before heading back to my home, Chicago, IL. I did spend the day at Los Angeles.
It is not the only airplane that is capable of flying this route, they flew it before that plane was even on the market, but I forgot wich model they used before.
Trapped in a metal tube for almost a day? Lucky. I just got off a flight from Delhi to JFK, however due to a medical emergency we had to divert to London. The plane ride ended up being 22 hrs+ for that one flight and my entire return trip almost 40 hrs.
The warm welcome towels happen in economy aswell. About four days ago I flew with singapore airlines from singapore to auckland which is almost twelve hours and they gave us warm welcome towels. I think the towels are suppost to get rid of germs. If you go to the back of the plane they give you free drinks and free food! Be carefull with those warm wecome towels. They are really hot!
Hey man, I recently flew from new zealand to singaplore and i noticed that the premium economy was quite dissapointing in comparison with what I had flow, lesser space and I think you should give them a fair chance by flying a newer premium economy as its truly amazing in comparison.
Next you should do the shortest flight like London Ontario to Toronto Ontario (YXU-YYZ) or Victoria BC to Vancouver BC (YYJ-YVR). Both flights are around 15-25 minutes. But those are in Canada. Maybe use one of those routes to test air Canada express?
Just flew a 18 hour flight all the way from India to LAX. In normal economy seats. It was actually not that bad since I slept most of the time. Anyways I do this almost every other year so it wasn’t that bad.
This is the flight that I've been telling myself that I want to try! 19 hours seems intimidating, so I', surprised you said it was a pretty fast/easy flight. Hopefully I can do this within the next couple years!
The longest flight (from what i know) is actually about 36-50 hours. Its a flight from one smth to smth and i think those “smths” are probably Turkey to Jeddah Turkey to Bangladesh Bangladesh to Jeddah those places are all in Asia, if there is anything wrong or smth abt this comment tell me!
