It took me forever to get this video done since I had to get a hold on a ton of CPUs, and had to re-test every single one of them with the new RX 7900 XTX I recently purchased for my test system. 😪🥱😴 I hope you appreciate my efforts. 😁
Great review. All I have to say about the i9 or any CPU is that Desktop CPUs should not consume more than 140W stock period. XD We had standard for CPUs not to consume over 140W and GPUs over 230-250W for over a decade, which made cooling them easy and and allowed the GPUs to be small and light. Otherwise this is basically a rerelease from intel.
Thank you very much! :) Yes, I, too, wish PC hardware would consume less power overall. While we are getting higher performance parts, the power draw does increase, as well. Nowadays you're easily drawing 350 - 700W while gaming for instance, depending on the setup.
Good review no non-sense BS. I have to admit i9-14900k is an OVEN, inside a box. I hope there will be more tutorials on how to UNDERVOLT and make this CPU more efficient for most users. It's ridiculous that my electricity bill will go skyrocket just doing regular workloads on this. Thanks Intel.
@@Nicolas11x12English I just finished building my PC, i9-14900k with an RTX 4080 Noctua Edition watercooled by Arctic Liquid Freezer 360 III, and 32 GB RAM with 2 TB M.2 and 480 SSD SATA 3. After watching this video, I felt a little disappointed that Intel did this to the 14th gen, however with proper cooling and undervolting/tuning, I'm sure there is a way to get this thing to run properly. I also know that most motherboard brands has enabled max settings for this CPU which is why it runs hotter and consumes more power than the stock TDP that Intel mentioned in their specs. Will see how it goes after Tuning mine later.
Extremely Detailed overview Nicolas! Shame somehow it got way to small amount of views :( What do you think is it worth upgrading from 7950x to 7800x3D or should i wait for next gen ? Been using 7950x almost since launch and it was heavily discounted 549$ more than year ago, 3D wasn't even out yet. Now thinking about ditching 7950x because even with tuned 6000mhzcl30 memory, undervolt sweetspot of negative 25 and turning off HT, it still nowhere near x3D part. I purely play warzone, wished you had it on your charts too :)
I have seen so many reviews of intel vs AMD. At the end of the day Intel pretty much smashes AMD in everything except for FPS which it then loses in some games by 5% possibly 10% on some rare examples. I would rather have the dependability of Intel and lose a little on FPS which can be rectified with a better graphics card any day.
How am i to take Intel seriously anymore? The old joke of Furnace CPU that eats a lot of Watts is now where their current CPU`s SIT. They can overheat. They can easily eat a lot of power. Its just sad. Lets hope they don`t butcher the ARC GPU series.....
Well, I sure hope for better CPUs in the future. I still have hope... :D But right now the power draw is way too high given the performance we're being offered.
