I used my Goccopro QS200 to expose several screeens today so I could practice screen printing and I think I got it down pretty good. Let me know what you think

tip * when your doing flash printing you should warm up the shirts under flash before first print to get if any moisture and shrinkage to go off before you lay first layer of ink , and also stirring the ink well and having it also on the warmer side will flow better , and for final curing i used old t-shirts cut in to longer 5 inch strips to lay across the top of the shirt and over the collar because it will start to burn or discolour when your trying to fully cure , and for the adhesive , try using mist spray and target the print area not the whole area with adhesive , and biggest advise is to look into a Rototex printer , this one you have will never hold registration over a long print job , side clamps are a must in manual printing , i mean if your targeting small one colour jobs ok , but when I roll 2, 300 pcs 4 colour jobs they need to be spot on every time and this is a small job , i think you will be attracting huge numbers that this set up cant handle sorry i rambled but that's my comment. peace peoples

You can get the two sided platen protection tape and once you put it on you just peel off two part and shirt will stick.

@@adubbproductions yea especially when you're learning because trust me I had a few shirt's I had to replace lol thinking I was a pro but flooding while holding the screen up will prevent any mistakes of accidentally pushing to hard and touching the shirt when flooding. But other than that you got it down 👏

Looks great btw. I originally got my gocco pro to make wall art but I’m leveling up to screen printing I’ve designing my graphics for days now I have to start printing.

I'm confused what you mean by your leveling up to screen printing. The gocopro produces screens so you can screen print. The gocopro is part of the process. The press is the part where you screen print. That's not leveling up that's changing the method. You are actually regressing because now you have to burn screens the traditional way and it takes way longer. Either way it doesn't matter as long as you get to produce your stuff the way you want.

Also consider doing like me build a square platform 4x4 sq. Ft and as high as 18" That will help you with your back had to increase the height of my screen printing machine too

Like said when you flood the screen hold it up so it's not touching the tshirt. Next the adhesive glue you don't need that much on their in sure you know that more. Also after you do that let it sit under the flash dryer for a few seconds to it gets kinda tacky. Next for the pallet tape get a razor blade and cut the excess off by following the platen. Print stroke use more angle like 45° with a firm stroke. That machine looks cool but what about registering 4 colors. As for the screens I prefer using the thicker aluminum frames instead of the thin ones due to registration issue. Also get a conveyor and not just a flash dryer. I made transfer for about 4yrs then stopped cuz it was not consistent with the adhesive powder. Had people mad and wanted me to replace the shirts that messed up cuz of the powder not sticking or over curing the transfer. Also had that same press for about 8yrs riley hopkins jr 4x4. I would advise against restretching screens unless you have the tension meter.

You don’t. You cut them out and Re stretch them with the roll of mesh. It’s super easy. I’ll make a video.

To truly judge screen printing, it’s not what it looks like when done…but what it looks like after a couple washes. I have countless tees from trips and sporting events….by “liscenced” distributors that crack after a couple washes. Complete trash. And I have a few screen printed shirts and sweat pants from college 20 years ago that have been washed over and over and still havent cracked. It’s VERY hard to make a quality screen printed item. If that drying isn’t on point, it just won’t last and is way less durable than even cheap vinyl….

I’m new to your videos. I’m assuming you have a new business. I have the gocco pro also with no concrete plans it was an impulse buy I have printed one thing on it. But my question is where are you getting your business or where did you get your first business?

I can’t. I would have to send the entire screen with the mesh on it but with this process you Re stretch the screens when you change the design. It’s super easy. But the screens are significantly more expensive than traditional screens.

how would you rate that riley hopkins 250 press? i am debating between the 6 with 4 planets or 6 with 2 platens. Would you say the 4 platens is a must for sure and would you say this is a good press to use as far as quality goes?
