I'd love to find that in my local yard. The Xenon lights and heated seat set-up would be coming home with me for sure (lol). Those Santa Monicas normally corrode really badly - the ones on that car are in great shape. Some nice parts there !
If you think this car is beaten up... I've seen a Mk4 GTi 1.8T recently and that thing....was a piece of crap. Faded paint, Bent and flacky wheels, Driver's seat was awfull ,it was clunking and squeaking out of everywhere,the ABS system was broken and the wheel bearings where noisy too... I've never seen a car as bad as that one... I wouldn't have paid more than 600€ for that thing and the guy was initially asking 1200€ for it. You really are LUCKY with this car.
I own a vr5 golf they normally sound like they have a misfire at low rpm that's normal tho because they ar identical to a 2.8 24v vr6 it's just that it's missing a cylinder I'm hoping to see you do a build with the v5 maybe a turbo set up??

Hi I am new to the channel but I thought the 4 motion only ever came with the 2.8 or 3.2 r32 I never knew they made a v5 4 motion I thought they were all front wheel drive
thomas pearson welcome 🎉 and yeah there’s actually a ton of cars here in Germany they put the 4 motion in. V5, Vr6, tdi 4 motion and I even saw a bora with a na 1.8 4 motion.

I'd do some reading on 4 motion swapping an mk4 if I were you. I've seen people do r32 awd swaps in mk4s but it takes a fair bit of cutting and welding in the rear section to get an awd system properly in a car that was originally a fwd. Also the shifting issue could just be at the shift tower linkage adjustment, or check the plastic side to side guide on the shift tower, if that guide is worn or missing, it can make it hard to get I to R, 1-2, & 5-6, had this issue on my vr6 after I installed a short shift. I installed a new plastic slider, readjusted my linkage, and I had all my gears back.

Theres also places here in Germany like donkeytec that will do the 4 motion swap for me so I’ve got options 👍🏼 and yeah the shifter would be totally rebuilt before it ever went back into the car and also would get a dieselgeek short shifter like I have in my vr6

That's an awesome price! I got an older autotech short shift, and EIP side to side shirt shift lever on my 6 speed vr6 for $50, paired with solid aluminum linkage bushings. It's so nice, I don't know how I lived without a short shift for so long lol.
Also, must say, I've been rooting for you to get a v5 for a swap, we didn't get them in the states, and if I could I'd be putting one in my mk2 🤣 they're just so unique, and sound amazing with an exhaust!
Okay f*ck it, even though the V5s aint that reliable... you should definately go for it since it is a 4motion... LOADS OF FUN! Even my 1,9tdi 4motion Mk4 is awesome. This is a car will only be rise in price.
Heino Plays nope it’s getting pulled apart lol the car is super cool but I’ve got no use for another Mk4 and this one car will help build 3 other cars. Also it’s not anything crazy rare I can find them for sale on the Germany all day long also in the bora and Passat. There’s also a lot of Vr6 4 motion and tdi 4 motion cars as well even 1.8 4 motion cars lol it’s a cool spec for sure but here in Germany I wouldn’t say it’s super rare

This mk4 vr5 is a rarity ( 100% worth restoring it ) . I've searched this specific model , but I couldn't find it anywhere . O_O Pls don't ruin it , it could be a new daily car instead of bora.
Fighter Gabriel Don’t need/want another Mk4 lol there’s a bunch for sale on the German eBay I’ve found if you want one. You can find vr6, tdi, and v5 4 motion cars for sale there. Also I need the wagon as the daily because it’s bigger then the golf.
@@Mk3Smith I searched for a mk4 vr5 4motion last year , but I couldn't find anything , neither now ( in my country ) , but at least I found and bought a mk3 gti 16v , maybe next year I'm gonna buy a vr5 4motion from Germany. :)
