I had this conversation once with a married coworker. We actually were not friends at the time, but rumors were circulating that he was having an affair with a few girls at work and he did seem pretty flirtatious with them. However, after careful observation I noticed the flirting was more on the side of the females and the guy genuinely just seemed to be trying to be nice. So I cornered him one day and told him that while he probably thought he was just being a “nice guy,” these girls were flirting and out for blood. He looked like a deer in the headlights. His wife messaged me on FB not long after and asked if the rumors were true and I told her that she needed to talk to her husband. They ended up getting a divorce because SHE was having an affair!! But he and I actually did become friends because I was able to have an honest conversation with him- 12 years later, he’s remarried and I love her!! Please have the hard conversations with people, but also don’t gossip. 🙏🙏

@shaepettit8233 I think you did the right thing. I wish someone would have confronted my husband at his job. He had an affair and his friends at work new about it. They were close friends and I was close with them as well and I would even make dinner for them and one of his friends were close enough to him he would come to my family's homes with us. He never told me anything. And when things hit the fan and I found out in the worst way I asked him why he didn't tell me? At the least just tell me to talk to my husband because things weren't right. But he did none of that and literally blocked me on social media. It was the most dark time for me. But I think if you are close enough to a person there is ways to let them know without inserting yourself completely. I am glad that your friend was able to remarry and be in a better place. ❤❤

@@coriettapadilla9977I’ve been the friend in this situation. Honestly I lost respect for that friend, but it’s also the ultimate betrayal for me to spill the beans to her on what he was doing. It may have been different if I was friends with her, but I just knew her through him. I did feel icky with myself when he would invite me to his house for whatever function they were throwing.

She doesn't even know if there is an actual affair going on, maybe they are good friends. She needs to mind her own business. If this person is a friend of hers why hasn't she already expressed her concern? Now a huge amount of people are discussing it. Again, if this were her friend she should not go onto a public forum and broadcast something she's not sure is actually happening.

Normally I would agree. However, she is a professing Christian, and if I understand correctly, the boss is also a Christian, and possibly the person he is spending time with. If he is a professing Christian and yet acting in a manner that is not Christlike, it is our duty as Christians to call out that behavior. Not because we have some moral superiority. But because they are claiming to follow Christ, and yet are acting the opposite. If the other parties were not ChristIan, I would agree, leave it alone and don’t get involved.

I have a christian friend that joined the fire department and immediately quit due to the amount of men that were being unfaithful in their marriage, he eventually ended in another station and it was the same story, he genuinely felt disgusted, he now has a more “regular job” but is much happier and ive kind of taught him he has to disconnect from workplace people and not get to close specially if he knows hes very in touch with his religion etc

The first caller is textbook codependent. These are two adults, unrelated to her, leading their own lives how they want to. It has *nothing* to do with her. Mind your business. I would recommend a book called *Codependent No More* for her to see how she's displaying symptoms of codependency. Often people do this to avoid facing the glaring issues in their own lives. I guarantee you the caller is either super single and alone, or in a relationship she's unhappy with.

Is he/she her boss? How does this person’s integrity or lack there of effect her? How does she know they are dieting together? He/she is married but is he separated? Think it’s ok to tell her friend how it looks but otherwise leave them alone. I once had an employee who was married and seemed to be carrying on with another employee. Turns out that her husband had already left her for another woman and filed for divorce. She was to embarrassed to tell anyone at work. So glad that I didn’t confront her with what I saw AND was certainly within my rights as the employer, I was paying both of their salaries. We were a Christian company, even closed on the Sabbath.

About 25 yrs ago I was working at a Pizza Hut and the closing driver told me he suspected the mngr and another driver were having an affair. He hid a tape recorder in the back office and caught them. It was something I didn't really want to know about. I never told anyone else because the boss and I weren't friends and I didn't know those ppl. Lol

“some” Female coworkers who are not married are a problem ! Let’s be real. A lot of affairs happen because the man is weak and the single female is lonely. The man who loves attention will ruin a 20 yr marriage. I have dealt with one. She’s overly nice, text my husband after hours, and he erases them. Why? Bc he was hiding something. It was definitely an emotional affair. he made her feel comfortable enough to do so apparently. Men need to know what boundaries are and that we will move on! I am younger , he is older. He will regret it. any women who can take your man is doing you a HUGE favor.

For the first caller (about the possible affair), I don't get the feeling she actually wants to sit down and have a hard conversation - something in the way she kept saying "umh-hm" felt like she already had a plan, and I think it's HR. Just remember ONE thing about HR. They are there to protect the company, never the employee - and if you go to them, even if it's not your issue, it may mean the end of your employment.

I totally understand that however at the end of the day it’s still none of your business. They are adults. They know what they should and should not do. I am totally against an extra marital relationship however the only one that I need to worry about is my husband not coworkers especially my boss. You are playing with fire. I have feedback after having watched many of your videos which are informative and very interesting. Why does she care? Is favoritism happening that has resulted in her being passed up for a promotion or she’s getting more work than the other chick? Is she seeing real implications in the office that impact operations? If not, mind your business. If these two are really having an affair, it will come out without this woman telling on them or confronting them. If she sees it, HR sees it. Let them handle it. I don’t know, I would probably just mind my business if it were me, but I can also understand why for some people it would feel very uncomfortable to sit there and watch two people acting in a way that indicates they’re violating social norms and common morality, and you shouldn’t have to feel that way in a work environment. I do think the best advice would be to tell HR though, not bring it to them directly…

This is why I have strict boundaries with coworkers. They are not our friends. I don’t accept their requests on social media and I refuse to go into much of my personal life, nor do I care to ask them about theirs. It may seem cold but it makes life so much easier. Don’t allow work and drama from it seep into your soul.

My wife and I met at work. We were both single. I remember there was a female coworker who was EXTREMELY jealous of our relationship and would follow us around town when we would go out to lunch or leave work at the end of the day. I honestly think this woman is jealous and needs to let it go… Although the boss shouldn’t be cheating on his wife but that’s a different story.

Concerning the first story, let m give you a story of my own... I'm female and single and had a female supervisor, "Jane", who was married. We spent a lot of time together, working evenings, lunches and weekends. We were often seen laughing as though we were good friends, but we never spent any personal time together. Just did the job. We had a budget of over $100 million and a staff of about 240 employees so the financial numbers were always moving and often. Many times throughout the year, we spent more time than usual together--quarterly reports, end -of-year closeout, etc. Once she retired, her job was back filled with a male, "John", who was also married. Then the talk began. We were doing and working the same together as I had worked with "Jane", but suddenly people thought it odd that "John" and I were seen laughing in the halls. We weren't interested in each other and he very much loved his wife. So when one of my coworkers approached me about what others were saying and questioning whether we were having an affair, all I could say was "What/Why?" I was stunned that people were talking about such behind my back when none of it was true. I also became concerned that if this got back to his wife, would this cause problems in their marriage. I told her that if they worked on improving themselves, they'd have little time to gossip about others. So about this story like in my personal career, people need to mind their own business and let things play out as they will. Meddling will not ingratiate yourself to others.

Worked at a private company where everyone was dating or married. I quit within 1 year. It was too "close" if you know what I mean. If it bothers you, leave. Other than that, mind your business. Also, don't continue friendships with people that lack basic morality. Co-workers are not friends.

A boss being involved with a subordinate sets the company up to be sued. If the subordinate gets promoted it will be seen as favoritism. The subordinate could also easily claim that they were sexually harassed by someone who had more power than them. You thinking that the caller should be concerned about getting a reference when the boss would likely be fired is wild considering most companies have policies that prohibit these relationships.

I’m shocked by the amount of people who are saying the first caller is “jealous” or she should “mind her own business”. I don’t think you should turn a blind eye to a situation that could potentially ruin the lives of someone else, there is absolutely no harm in pulling her aside and letting her know how the relationship is coming from the outside. If it’s nothing then great it’s nothing and they can all move on but there is also a chance that a coworker is sleeping with not only her boss but a married man and as someone who is in a relationship and has a job I’d absolutely be bothered by both the cheating and a coworker sleeping to get ahead. I would absolutely want someone to pull me aside if my behavior looked as though it was crossing line from the outside wtf

Vanessa's story is mine. My ex broke me too. Our whole marriage was about being there for him. But when my dad got sick and was terminal with cancer, he wouldn't or couldn't be there for me. He actually got mad and held it against me that I chose my dad above him. That was the end. This is so heartbreaking.

that second caller kept saying she’s “lucky”. idk if working from home is better for your kids. I’ve seen kids be delayed developmentally because the mom was home working but she was only accessible through a glass door. lol and she “knows” everything that happens but didn’t even ask the grandma what happened or if she hit the kid? and then kids are kids, can we stop with this, my kid is this and he’s lying etc. like we never told lies growing up. you just have to parent.

I would mind my own business as well, but I will add this tidbit. If both women are on the same team, and both report directly to the man in question, there could be a case of favoritism between one team member over another. These situations are so delicate, because the optics don’t look good. I’m in the camp of not saying anything to either party. I’m only speaking of the situation from a standpoint of both women report directly to this man (boss).

The one having an affair with the boss will have to go above and beyond and will never get recognized for her or his hard work. It will eventually cause resentment. The caller is jealous and needs to focus on her job. Her boss doesn't want her. His boss can do his job without her assistance. She doesn't realize how bad it will make his wife look and feel for being neglectful, her boss's boss. That person's boss. You have nothing to do it. Stay out and get a life. Worry about your own husband and don't neglect him.
