Until the scenes with Val when she had multiple personality disorder and Gary found her working as Verna - a waitress in Tennessee. The chemistry was off the chart in those scenes between Gary and Val.
That's what made her realistic. Some of those TV villains are so evil they are cartoonish. But Abby had depth; especially during the storyline when Olivia got hooked on cocaine. People were rooting for her and wanted her to be tough.
@@robertscott8344 She never let anyone see her shed a tear. The writers were brilliant in how they would pull her back when she was at her worst and redeem her somewhat.
I just seen almost the whole series last year. Hooked, it's all i did for days!..anyhow Yes! Something must have been up that year. Start aligned? Different writers or?? No idea, but this season was Amazing!

Why won't they make the dvds already? They do not make shows like that anymore. Very organic very real...well...that is until the show got famous, in the mid to late 80's/90's then it was all done in studio fake sets and all :(
ATLAN I was just saying that the other day, they have two seasons out there, but they won't release the rest I don't understand. There's enough people who want it. I think even Dallas has all their DVDs out there. Why not Knots Landing? I was a huge fan, still am.
Greed. No one wants to pay the music royalty fees owed to the writers, producers and Lisa Hartman. And there is no way they can cut around Ciji's music because the entire season was built around her - including scenes where her singing underscores what is going on in story. For example, when Karen dumps Mac, she sits sobbing at Daniels' as Ciji sings, "If Love Must Go," which closes the episode. You can't get rid of that. For the Cathy Geary years, it would be easier since she mostly sang cover songs at a bar, but in season 6/7, when Joshua dies, what pushes him over the edge is Cathy's taking over his show and singing gospel and then rock songs - which again would be hard to cut out of the show since they propelled that storyline. I loved Ciji, and Cathy too, so it's too bad it's all HER fault we can't watch more seasons on DVD.

Hi, yes Gary did mourn Bobby's death heavily in KNOTS LANDING (1985-1986) seventh season, DALLAS ninth season. But soon after both seasons were done, the shows had to seperate because Valerie had twins, Bobby had returned in DALLAS tenth season, then Valerie's twins were not born, the twins storyline was enormously popular and heartfelt, the viewers did not want twins gone from show, both shows had to be divided. KNOTS LANDING (1986-1987) eighth season and DALLAS tenth season were now completely separate into different shows and never mention each other or characters starting this seasons and never again.
@@riveranormanf.8770 But the dream season didn't happen so how could it reflect on ether show Val still could have named the twin boy Bobby after his uncle cause the writers still wrote Bobby name in as their uncle.
@robertscott8344 It did happened but after KNOTS LANDING Seventh Season, they separated the shows. KNOTS LANDING Eighth Season DALLAS Tenth Season the shows separated. There was no mention of it.
They still mentioned the other. Well Dallas did anyway. During the BD Calhoun story. Bobby and JR flew to California with Pam and Sue Ellen. Gary was mentioned then. Then they both appeared in Season 14 finale
