Written for the 2015 musical project 'Lend Me Your Heart', as well as in her book Savior & Sustenance, Julie Carrick, along with collaboration including Doug Slater, this song shares the beauty of two of the words Christ spoke from the cross before His death. 'I Thirst.' The Photograph used in this video is by J. Michael McNamara of the crucifix at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Las Cruces, NM. From Julie: "Realizing the extreme hunger and thirst Christ felt during His passion my heart is moved to know that he was also thirsting for all mankind to receive His merciful love. In the book 'Savior & Sustenance, this song is included in the chapter inviting everyone to take a new look at Fasting. As Christ hungered and thirsted as He died to take away our sins, we can learn to embrace regular Fasting, and especially to embrace it before the reception of the Holy Eucharist. ~ I love the words of St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta in regard to how much Christ thirsts for sinners to come to Him....."
