Story 1: Yeah, this is inevitable! At some point, OP will have to make a choice: suck it up and have some form of relationship with her son and grandkid, or leave her! Story 2: Ignoring the negative will eventually get so much worse in time that it'll destroy him, not just emotional, but also his health and might commit to 'other methods' of ignoring the problems (I'd say what the others are, but I'd rather not)! If it starts affecting OP, it needs to be forced! Story 3: Or because of how Beth was mentioned about rushing out, she can't believe that Sarah would do this! Beth probably wouldn't mention anything, but at least OP must've felt some sort of relief talking about it! Story 4: Yeah, that guy has so much more entitlement than you might think! Story 5: This needs another serious talk, and OP needs to bring up his concerns and issues, as well as any proof of the long-term problems (be it medically or other proof)! I do feel like that a breakup might happen if she doesn't stop!

Story 5: OP says she "could not and would not date an alcoholic". My heart goes out to you, OP, but from what you've described, you already are. Your GF's alcohol consumption has gone from occasional to every night to every night plus periodically during the day. At the rate she's going, it's only a matter of time before it jeopardizes her employment. You've told her how her drinking affects you, and she's choosing alcohol over you. She's answering you with all the standard alcoholic's cliches, indicating that she's in denial. These are all classic symptoms. I'm truly sorry to say this, because there are people close to me who were affected by loved ones' addictions, so I have an idea of what you're going through, but you really need to be taking this to Al-Anon, not Reddit. I can't advise you as to whether or not to stay with this person, but some time with Al-Anon will help you decide what's best for you.
I really think it should be mandatory to get therapy after a relationship or marriage ends because this is just projection.. why does he automatically think this woman wants him to take care of her grandbaby?
When will women realize the reason men don't open up and get emotional to them is because if they do the moment she gets even slightly annoyed about anything for any reason what-so-ever whatever he said will be weaponized against him, most likely loudly, quite possibly in public. It's a defense mechanism.
I agree some women do that but as a woman myself if a guy ever opens up to me im gonna listen. Personally im bad at communicating emotionally but if someone opens up to me I will gladly help them. I wouldn't say all women are like this though so I...half agree? yeah half agree
That's not women, that's shitty partners in general. I have 100% seen men do this to their girlfriends. Some women certainly do this, sure, but it's not really gendered.
