@@cakerins "The people we have lost, or the dreams that have faded... never forget them." I grew up with this game back in 2003 as a teenager, and it is such a special game in my heart. Thank you for sharing your experience and passion with us!
@@cakerins Same as both FFVII Aerith dead scene, Now iam 37 y old and i play FFVII on 1998 and still i cry like a crazy and its make me pain and FFX another... Scenario is PERFECT
Yuna whistling for the life of her on the dock calling for Tidus, and especially "..or the deams that have faded" -line because of Tidus who was a dream, gets me crying every time. Loved this game as a teen, maybe even more now.
Same. Yes FF 6 & 7 are standard classics, but FF X was both my introduction & still my favorite. Yes there's things U can nitpick, but this is an experience, more than just another video game. The music, the characters, the story, the strategies, & the brilliance of this story remains 1 of my all time favorites.
Congratulations on joining the club of those who have been torn apart with this story. For me the greatest FF ever, i have so much to say about it. It is a story about passing, death and its acceptance, as much as about how to cope with the high expectations everybody (the society) has on how you should conduct your life. Great game, always shed a tear with that ending.
Congrats buddy. You've now completed one of the greatest FF games of all time and you now feel the way we all felt when we first played through it. I'm glad you finally got to experience it. I thoroughly enjoyed watching you experience all of the emotions of this wonderful game.
Your genuine kindness is incredible. This game changed my life as a kid and still to this day the story breaks my heart while making me cry. So thank you for providing an incredible experience for my #1 fave! I'll do my best to support you dude. 😊
Been a real privilege watching you play through and experience the ending for the first time. I still get emotional now and I've seen it so many times. Congratulations for beating it :)
I've completed hundreds and hundreds of games in my life maybe even close to a thousand at this point and no game ending has ever hit me like FFX. There is something about those two main characters that are just likeable maybe it's their innocence or maybe because they are genuinely good. But you wanted to see them end up happy which is so bitter sweet and sad to see it end the way it did but it's such a good ending and the best I've ever seen in a game. The FFX ost is the best video game ost I've ever heard I don't remember a single theme from the game that was not amazing in fact I think it's so good that it's anime level good.
I swear Zanarkand is the most powerful piece to ever exist from FFX. From the first songs you hear to the last. The bitter sweet emotions you fully understand by the end just brings back the sorrow and happiness it entails.
Thanks for making me cry man... No but really, I'm a little sad I wasn't able to join you on the journey, but you definitely made my grind a little easier. I finally completed everyone's sphere grids while watching this video (perfect timing) and I just had to watch it all the way to the end. Maybe tomorrow I can get through the ending without crying while getting my final trophy for the game. I've decided to leave Yu Yevon as the final trophy as it just feels right. Thanks for the emotions, both happy and sad and the best of luck with the channel!
You seem a bit confused what happened after the Jecht battle. After your last conversation with Mika, you found out that Yu Yevon is the reason Sin is reborn every time. The reason for this is that Yu Yevon possess the Final Aeon and forms a new Sin out of it. After defeating Jecht, Yu Yevon leaves Braskas Final Aeon (the floating spirit orb thing). The Aeons asked Yuna to summon them during the final battle because Yu Yevon would possess them and make a weaker "Mini Sin" out of them. After all Aeons were defeated and there was no place left to run, Yu Yevon could be directly defeated and the endless cycle was broken.
@cakerins another great detail about that scene that's easy to miss is that Tidus catching Jecht after the fight is a callback to when he first sees Yuna coming out of the cloister and he's too slow to catch her (Kimahri grabs her instead.) It shows how much he's grown from the start of his journey that he's able to catch the person he cares about this time around.
The story of this game gets better the older you get... The overarching themes of the inevitability of death, not getting what you want, the inevitability of sin returning, but the message of hope, to find meaning in moments despite the fundamental despair of life, it's unbelievable storytelling for a fucking video game that came out over 20 years ago. They took the rule book of video games and smashed it to pieces with this run of games. Brilliant
This game is an absolute masterpiece for so many reasons. Still makes me cry buckets every time The only other endings that do this to me are the FF13 trilogy endings. 13-3 ending in particular is arguably better than 10's 13 divided opinion but it's an emotional rollercoaster from start to finish so if you go into it with an open mind you will enjoy it
I think it's really cool that you got to experience this. When I was 9 years old, I sobbed over not getting to see Yuna and Tidus anymore. I still tear up at the ending every time. We cry because it meant something to us. I hope you enjoy the rest of your time with the series.
This game will remain a masterpiece the story to the gameplay. This ending was something special and will always touch the heart of new and returning players for years to come.
When he holds her that one last Time on the Ship... its like he refuses to go and he puts everything into this Hug but he knows he has to go... and so it happens.
Love your geniune reaction to one of the best endings I've ever experienced in Gaming History. If something unites all generations it's gaming. Keep it up and stay healthy
Just finished binging the entire playthrough over the last few days. Thanks for letting us enjoy this experience with you, was a great pleasure to watch. Loved your commentary. Wish I could of caught this earlier so I could of posted as you went but hey-ho. I was thinking you had already played the original final fantasy 7 but was glad to see your comment saying you've only played the remake. Would absolutely love to see you play the original 7, it's a game on par or better than 10 depending who you ask. Again thank you for this series and all the best for you and your family.
I just spent my weekend watching your entire play through. FFX is my all-time favourite FF game and game overall. I played it when I was a kid, probably finished it dozens of times at this point, and I still cry. I love watching others experience my favourite game and see their reactions and emotions. Thanks for sharing your FFX journey with us! c: Will be looking to watch some of your other content next!
Funny thing, Yu Yevon is not immune to Zombie. It can totally hurt itself with its curagas hahaha. Damn good job figuring out the reflect strat super fast either way.
Its emotional when you first beat this game but let me tell you something... nothing compares to the emotion you feel after completing it 100% countless hours put into this game it becomes part of your life. Then your story is finally over. Beautiful game
My heart breaks for Yuna right when she sees Tidus starting to show signs of fading away. She does not want this dream to end after all is said and done. Still a memorable ending for me. Its why I enjoyed X-2 afterwards and get towards that that true ending moment.
Thank you for sharing your reactions. Watching you react with such emotion to the games I love brings me to tears alongside you, no matter how many times I've experienced it myself. Thank you for sharing your thoughts at the end as well. I can't wait to watch the rest of the content you have to offer.
Congratulations on clearing FFX. We recommend purchasing the OST after clearing the game. In particular, it contains a lot of very good music to spend the coming summer!
The way Yuna said "Or the dreams that have faded" always makes me cry ! Especially when you think that Tidus il *litteraly* a dream. Maybe some other people have already said it,but I'm almost certain you would enjoy FFXIV main story, especially the last expansions
this FF.. ah ! it got arguably one of if not the best story of the whole franchise, the best characters as they seem really human and your squad consist of 7 of them and they all seem distinct, the battle system is the most refined and you got soo much content ! like, some complain the game is too linear but there is that point in the story where you get access to the ship's navigation and you can do so much here.. the worldbuilding of Spira, its atmosphere and those beautiful cutscenes and soundtracks... what a package ! glad you experienced it and hope you enjoyed it forgot the sphere grid ! so cool
This game is still incredible. I will never get tired of it, I became an aunt last year and I hope my niece can experience this amazing game and enjoy the story, art, characters, music, etc.
I finished this game on my ps2 when I was 9 years old and I vividly remember bawling my eyes out. Never thought a game could summon such emotions back then. Most of what I had experienced back then was arcade type games. Truly a revolutionary game
I remember finishing this game back in high school senior year. It was a Sunday afternoon. I literally didn't know what to do with myself for the rest of the day. Back then my teenage brain couldn't take it. FF7 will be my fav FF cause it's what introduced me to the series, with FFX being a close second. But had I been introduced to the series with X first it will be easily my fav.
FFX claims another "victim". What a fantastic game, story and ending. So many little details. Its so sad people often dont even notice wakka reaction and how he's losing another brother, he cant even say anything. Also the whistle < 3
I like your reaction with Bahamut kill you when you don't know that the fayths protect you and resuscitate you ahah ! I like following your videos, all natural and without fakes, are you going to do Final Fantasy X-2 ?
Oh you were prepared. The entire game prepared you for that ending scene.💔 This one of the most beautiful story ever told in video game imho. Highly suggest you get the"Ending theme" music on Spotify or other platforms. This is the one. More than 20 years later it still hits as hard as before
I remember very well the first time i saw this. It took me a while because it was my first rpg ever, and some of the Bosses gave me a hard time, so i was really excited after defeating sin. And after losing auron i thought that we were finished suffering, but then the ending vegan. I cried my eyes out. Did not really see that coming. Before that moment there was another one bringing me to tears, that was when tidus found out that yuna would have to die to defeat sin - together with the music it got me. But the end is just perfect. Plot, Camera, music, timing, it has everything. And yunas speech at the very end Hits everyone pretty hard who has lost a beloved person. I had not yet in these days back in 2002, but today there are many, some of them very young like tidus. I gets me on another level today. Never forget them Thank you for sharing your first experience with this masterpiece 😍
FFx and that ending has to be one of the saddest but best endings to a game. Yu Yevon as a boss I went through what you did and then later found out you can beat it with a phoenix down because it has zombie status.
This dang game...I've played it since I was a kid the year it came out...this game really had an impact on my life and I still watch it. I've seen that ending dozens of times and I still tear up a bit even though I know what's going to happen!
I love watching people get emotionally wrecked by this game's ending. Only those who lived through it knows. That "noooooo" when he realize Tidus is going too had me spinning again. The "I love you", the high five with dad, the whistling at the harbor. T_T fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk
I'm always able to keep it together until that very last moment where Yuna says "never forget them" and it leads into Suteki da Ne. Just so expertly edited and cinematic, the perfect cap on a highly investing story. I really do think this is the best FF mainline entry.
No one is ready for this ending during their first playthrough. But even when we know what to expect after seeing it again and again, it’s still an emotional rollercoaster. Zanarkand is my favorite song ever. Nothing beats it to me. This is my favorite ff game.
Played this when I was still in high school, played it again when I was an adult when the remastered version was released... And still cry horribly seeing during the ending as I did when I was a teenager
In response to the frequent "What is this?" And "I have no idea what's happening right now!" The entity you're fighting there at the end is Yu Yevon, the former ruler of Zanarkand from the time of its ancient war with Bevelle. When Bevelle was on the verge of defeating Zanarkand, Yu Yevon gathered his people together and had them transform themselves into Fayth, the statues seen atop of the mountain as you pass into the ruins of Zanarkand. He used the...faith of the fayth to summon an eternal dream world in which they could live forever, appropriately called Dream Zanarkand. Before it was done, though, he did one more thing -- he created Sin. Sin is essentially a kind of living armor that Yu Yevon wears to ensure his immortality. He also gave Sin a set of instructions to destroy any and all settlements over a certain size, and to ensure that any sign of machina technology would also be obliterated on sight. Essentially, no civilization would ever be able to rise in power again without being obliterated by Sin. However, in order to ensure that Sin would not completely wipe out all life, he gave his daughter, Lady Yunalesca, the secret of the Final Summoning, the only way to stop Sin. Through the Final Summoning, a summoner can call into being a powerful Aeon which can "destroy" Sin. However, in doing so, their Final Aeon would always be possessed by Yu Yevon, who again resides within Sin. Yu Yevon would possess the Aeon and use its energies as the new core of Sin, slowly rebuilding the creature over the next 10 years. This period came to be known as The Calm. Sooooooo, what you're seeing here at the end of the game is the party realizing that the only way to TRULY defeat Yu Yevon, is to also destroy all of the Aeons. There cannot be even a single Aeon left alive, or else Yu Yevon would have a form he could possess, a form he could steal to re-create Sin. So Yuna is force to call into being her aeons -- her friends who have helped her through so much -- allow Yu Yevon to possess them, and then destroy them. That wriggly little bug thing you see after they've all been defeated is Yu Yevon's true and final form. Defeating it means defeating him (and Sin) forever.
I was crying like a baby when I finished this game. For me at least it was honestly mixed feelings... why am I crying, I shouldn't be crying, am I allowed to cry? But also thank god I'm crying I'm not a psychopath after all :D But jokes aside. This is one of the best games ever made. Truly masterpiece!
This ending is one of the most heart breaking in video game history. Such a beautiful story. As for what the little scene with Tidus at the end, no spoilers, but you should play FFX-2 ;)
This game is a fundamental part of my life, as foolish as that sounds. I first played this game when I was like 9. I put hundreds of hours into it over the years, but i didn't actually beat it until i left the service after 10 years...I had a couple months of free time so I started it fresh and found myself grinding Omega again....putting off the inevitable end. My bro finally convinced me to beat it and it hit me like a freight train, this game was my go to for peace but the ending; even though i knew what was coming, was so rough. If you enjoyed X and haven't played XV, I would highly recommend a platinum playthrough on FFXV. Alot of the playerbase didn't care for it but the story is really great if you take the time to look at the other media SE made for it.
I've played almost all Final Fantasy games and I love the stories.... many are heartbreaking and you build a connection to the characters, it's like being there live... If you liked final fantasy, please play nier replicant or nier automata... you will like it brother.
One of the greatest games of all time. The ending gets me every time. I still have my Original PlayStation 2 copy of Final Fantasy X and not only that, but I got it signed by James Arnold Taylor (Tidus), Tara Strong (Rikku) and John DiMaggio (Wakka and Kimahri).
Just a tidbit in the original Japanese, instead of saying "I love you" Yuna says in an emotional tone "Thank you." It hits different in it's own unique way.
