Aaron Sahlman is the best one as he hasn’t won a xc race thanks to np being so deep and good as a team. He won and broke the record which is a classic win besides the team win. Team wins are harder to come by as no one athlete as good as one might be can win the team title by themselves. Aaron kicked each bill and strategically tuck in behind the group. Very windy and cold and saved himself for that last hill that often destroys the best runners. Have to say hicks did well too as Stillwater record went down on a nasty course. However hicks wasn’t a surprise like Aaron. Most aren’t familiar with np so wasn’t shocked as already knew Aaron 800 and 3000 speed but love that he stepped up when the twins needed him to take that roll. Np also had a record team time for the course. Gotta do a video on np again because they going to do more mind blowing stuff.
@talling
@talling Год назад
@@brentburnett6658 yeah, NP is a phenomenal team and I don’t think we will see another (non recruiting) program as good ever again. I’m excited to see them this spring because Lex and Leo will have a serious chip on their shoulder and Aaron will be more motivated than ever.
@brentburnett6658
@brentburnett6658 Год назад
@@talling never a big word. Predicted np success before it happened. Like saying 4xmile won’t be broken. Np could break that record as last year team didn’t even run that fast relative to their pbs….didn’t really lose Sean as Tanya took over the job and both still involved. Love the twins and all these brothers even the ones from different mothers. Stanford nau and byu going to be interesting. Nau more like np university but Mike smith doing great work along with Stanford rise. Eyestone is crazy good coach and runner at byu. Somehow he has all those utah kids going to the y. Can’t blame them. He knows his stuff. Those three Teams will put on a show. Super excited for Nico and think he has Olympic medal potential. Also on watch Courtney wayment for steeples. She going to Olympics. Kt going to break some records. All these runners are fun to watch.

What's crazy to me is how much higher these athletes are operating than the average human could. I play rugby and have been active all my life, and yet I've always struggled to break even an eight minute mile, including when I ran cross country and played soccer every day. These guys are moving at what I would conservatively call 85-90% of my full-on, flat-out sprinting pace, but they're just casually running ten, thirteen, or twenty six miles! It blows my mind that humans can be capable of that.
@DCDAZA

@R.J. Lewis I also have run all my live trying to run as fast as i can, but never could run as fast as some others did. I think, most people do not know how fast somebody can be. So i never did anything faster than a woman could. And i did a lot of things, like skating, running, biking, triathlon, etc. But i am still going strong! But live is the most important thing.😊
@jimmyjohnson7041
@jimmyjohnson7041 Год назад
@@DCDAZA Ive been a distance runner since age 15. My best marathon ( 26.4 ) was 2 hours and 40 minutes. Even though I considered myself a casual runner.....and never really set my mind to being that much better I was addicted to running ! Many around me thought I ran for health reasons. But when they learned of my diet 10,000 calories per day ( 7 snickers candy bars for breakfest.......cake.... a 12 pack of beer a day.....and more ) they realized there is more to running then making it work ! I loved running....and still do at age 65. My own boys at ages 28 and 30 wont even take me on for two miles. Still to this day.....Ive never been able to do a single " push up " . Go figure.......we are not all built the same ! Im 6ft 5 in. and most distance runners felt I could never run at a 6 mile pace for a marathon. Its all about genetics...environment ( your life condition ) and desire !
@DeedsResearcher
@DeedsResearcher Год назад
@@jimmyjohnson7041 Respectfully, I have to disagree with your comment about genetics. If you believe that you can only run "just this pace", then that is all you will ever run. However, it's also a matter of finding out what you are made of in order to improve your finishing times. If you want to run faster, you will have to train at a faster pace! You will have to do more hill work and more speed-work! You will have to do more cross-training (including pushups!) in order to build overall body muscle. Mind you, this is NOT the type that is done by serious weight-lifters who seemingly grow muscles on top of their muscles! If a person trains to run 50 minutes for a 10K, then he or she is not going to be running faster than that for a marathon! While that time might be okay for some runners, a person finishing in 50 minutes is usually going to be near the middle or back end of the pack. If you are satisfied with that, then it's fine! But if you want to improve as a runner, then you will need to change the way you train. So when will you find out what you are made of? Answer: When you see what it takes to stop you! (Oh, all of the runners I coach avoid most of the stuff you ate for breakfast! Candy bars? Cake? Yes, they are loaded with carbs, but not the sort of carbs that are needed for the long haul! Beer? Out of the question! Make mine Diet Coke or Diet Pepsi....or iced tea!) By the way, a good friend used to wear a fanny pack for marathons, and kept some bite-sized Snickers bars in it. At one marathon he started to get really fatigued at around 20 miles, so he grabbed 2 or 3 Snickers and gulped them down. Within a couple of minutes he got the benefit of the sugar hitting his system, and he felt like he usually did around the 10-mile mark! A good emergency backup plan!) Good luck, and good running to you!
@jimmyjohnson7041
@jimmyjohnson7041 Год назад
@@DeedsResearcher Genetics is a fact of life. As with me....... I could never do a single " push up " to this day I can not even lift myself off the ground trying to do a pushup ! Also......height has a major impact in a runners preformance........just dealing with wind / draft. Joints also play a roll. Some runners experience joint pain all the time. I never did. But.......in my family most of my dads side in the family have new knees at the age of 40. Go figure......mine dont bother me yet....and thats also along with milkin cows / farming. Salt..... if I didnt load my self with salt......potatoe chips and the like......Id never finish a mile ! Same with the junk foods. Everyone is different.....and as stated earlier......I was never into it for the heath reason. I loved running. Nature running.

I'm unsubscribing... I hate the ridiculous times in the thumbnails... and he steals rhetoric and writing from JmxyHighRoller. But Total Running Productions hyperbolic statements get very tiresome very quickly.

So... Kiptum didn't really break any records. "the fastest debut marathon" and "the fastest second half" are interesting statistics, but probably don't warrant "another record falls". I would have thought it far more interesting that he just ran the 4th fastest marathon time outright, and only 12 / 14 seconds slower than the times put in by EK in 2018 and KB in 2019.

More people, better exposure, better training, better coaching, better shoes, more accessible competition. I imagine those things will only get better over time...

Kiptum now holds the second fastest Marathon time ever by winning the London Marathon. He was just 16 seconds off Kipchoge's world record time. We may very well be looking at the man who'll eventually take the world to the Holy Grail of the first legit sub-2:00 Marathon.

All these record breakings are probably due to breakthrough in sport equipment. Basically springy shoes by Adidas and Nike. There is a spring in the shoes. This is the most credible explanation as many athletics records start falling. How can so many records start falling unless something like this is the cause?
