Very Inspiring Charlie!!! Reminds me when Joey Muthengi compared USA with Kenya and said, USA is an ocean full of extremely talented people that even had better looks while Kenya is a small fish pond and found the small pond working better for her.
Hey Charlie ,I have no right to say this ,but I'm gonna just put it out there and I hope this helps.... Soberly speaking we were created with different purposes in life and anytime we are living outside our purpose we become sad and depressed, you are amazingly talented , you have a spot in this country of ours Kenya , a very golden one , it's not too late to come back and it won't be embarrassing to come back ( you could actually make a movie from your story ) , come back before it's too late , come back and live that dream here , companies like netflix are buying scripts from people like Abel Mutua, those companies are coming to Kenya to invest , so please don't go against the current they are working on , come back soonest because you will do great things and the generation that relates to you is going to actively support you before you become unrelatable to another generation.....that's my honest truth.
How are you doing, Charlie? My name is Henry, and your story really resonates with mine. I also did the family reunion thing. The difference is that I am in Germany, but a lot of things are the same. I would like for us to chat or even just catch up. I moved 5 months ago and i see all that you are talking about.
I regret coming here as a masters student. I wasted 10s of thousands dollars. Maybe i should have come here on visitor visa and use my savings on other things. Education is nolonger valued here.
godamn. I have always had the notion that if I was to get out of this country for Europe or Canada Im going straight into construction. suits ni za kushtua kijiji tu kenya
Dude is on point!...United States can reduce you to nothing with all your degrees and accolades plus experience accrued over a period of time!..Just immigrate with less expectations and work your way up!
About the question on money. I will definitely choose the money first coz it gives you choices. Hopefully the passion part will be facilitated by the money i get. My two cents.
The education and work experience especially from Africa is not recognized in the west. You have to totally start over. You have to go back to school and start by working minimal jobs. 🙂🙃
I think people forget there are other qualified experienced people already here. The competition is stiff you always have to be realistic when you come here no one knows you. Also the experience bit is not totally true depends on your job and industry. I know enough people getting six figures. The entertainment space is different.
