Once you get to your spot,replace half your shiner water with water from the canal,you gave to acclimate them to the temp change.

Live Shinners on a free line is fish on ur hook 4 sure...artificial lures is a waste of time...even live Shrimp is really productive in fresh water..down by Homestead I caught a big P-Cock bass on a live Shrimp
