most brands of period cups have different shapes and sizes!! i would recommend getting a different size and researching companies a little bit- i know there are a lot who will send youtubers free cups for sponsored videos, and then your viewers could also get a discount code! :)

I’ve heard you need to get a bigger or different shaped menstrual cup sometimes after birth.
@Nick-ei8lt
@Nick-ei8lt 4 года назад
Nicole Ziegler yea not all the time. I’ve had two children and I need to use the smallest size bc I’m a very small woman. I’m 5 foot and about 100lbs. My 12 year old is bigger than I am. I hate that the companies don’t mention that if you’re a tiny woman and have had kids then the bigger size may not work for you. The largest size and the normal size were both so big and uncomfortable. The tween one was perfect for me.

Not postpartum, but I've always had issues with my menstrual cup for the first day or so of my cycle. Have you tried reusable pads?? Cup + reusable pad = perfection. I picked up a pack and I wash them with my laundry and it's a game changer for that super heavy day of my cycle! They absorb super well, and I don't find it gross or weird or anything like that (I actually find them much more comfortable than disposable pads). Definitely worth looking into!
@katieshin969

CulpFiction Vlogs this!! I’m also not postpartum, but I’ve been using cup+reusable pads for years and I find them less irritating, and they even help with odour control! I sometimes hand wash them w laundry soap and cold water and it works great. I understand it might seem weird at first, but definitely worth a try :)

If your cup no longer catches everything or has never fully worked then it is not the right size for you body shape. This is VERY common after having kids (most companies sell two sizes because of this). There are online quizzes you can take that will suggest the best fit for you. Also, reusable pads/liners are amazing!

I’m thinking of changing into cup and reusable pads. But what do you do when you’re out and about? What do you do with the used pads? The idea of having a bloody pad in my purse kinda stopes me from doing it 😅

My menstrual cup that I used before having my daughter was the small Lena Sensitive, but after having her it would leak and just not stay in right. I messaged the company and they sent me a size large in the same cup for free! Works 100 times better for me! Also since I cloth diaper my daughter I decided why not get cloth menstrual pads for myself?? It’s not that much more gross lol. I LOVE them! Sounds gross but it’s cheaper and way better for the environment.

Hannah Bugajski I was just about to say the same thing. Diva cup comes in two sizes and you might just need the larger size now. You could also use period underwear (like Thinx) or reusable panty liners if you are concerned about having to use more disposable products. It’s easy enough to find this online as far as info and also buying it. Good luck!

Some of the period cups have different sizes depending on if you have delivered a baby vaginally or not. I upgraded to the post vaginal delivery cup and it made a big difference! The other one felt like it was falling out 🤦🏻‍♀️ I also use reusable fabric pantiliners almost daily, especially while I’m pregnant. If I leaked around the menstrual cup I would use one with that as well. If you don’t have a problem washing poopy cloth diapers, you shouldn’t have a problem washing menstrual blood! It’s all normal bodily functions 😊
@benedettascarpari1466
@benedettascarpari1466 4 года назад
I recommend that you try the Mooncup: there are just two sizes (A for mums that had vaginal deliveries) (B for everybody else). It saves you from having to go through different sizes and styles. I have been using it for more than 5 years now and loving it! ALSO I use reusable mini panty liners together with the cup for the first heavier days. Pretty much same materials as cloth diapers, SO soft and so cute 🙃

Love that you're becoming more conscious of the environment and going on the journey of using less plastic! Instead of throwing away the plastic bags after you use them once, you should try to waste them and reuse them until you can't use them anymore (I realize that can be a hassle but if you can it's a really great option!). I've never had kids but you could look into the brand She Thinx for some underwear that are specifically for periods. I haven't tried them but I want to so bad so let us know if you try them and if you like them! A reusable pad also works great! Love what you're doing!!

I also use a menstrual cup but I haven’t given birth and mine still leaks!! I love my cup lol I don’t ever run out of tampons or make my bathroom stink from throwing them away. I use a small cup and because I’m so small it doesn’t extend all the way every time and leaks! It has to be in the right position to expand which hurts in my opinion. I would suggest looking for a larger size cup or different shape for you. But unfortunately I will continue to destroy all my underwear 😭

So worth the money, they last forever and they are SO comfortable. I bought mine off of Etsy from MamaMillerSews. I’ve had two kids and need a tween cup. The one for those that have had children’s was massive and hurt so badly so did the original size. Just bc you’ve had kids doesn’t mean you need such a big size. Not all of us lose muscle tone in our vagina and pelvis. You should start pelvic floor exercises to help strengthen your walls. I did mine all through pregnancy and right after birth. My gyno was like what is going on it’s like you haven’t had kids lol. Yup it works.

In Belgium there a 2 sizes menstrual cups, the smaller size is for women or girls who got a light to normal flow. And the bigger size is for women who got pregnant before or just got a bigger flow. Maybe you should get the bigger size so you don't leak and need pads, you can find it in your local pharmacy 🙂

You could remeasure your cervix height you may need a different cup. Or try Eva absorbent underwear from Amazon or thinx underwear to catch leakage

I highly recommend reusable menstrual products . I didn't discover them till I turned 40 and wow, im so sorry I didn't find them sooner . Pads work awesome and are so thin you don't feel like your wearing a diaper and are super absorbent.

A lot of menstrual cup brands offer two sizes. A smaller one for lighter flows or someone who hasn't given birth vaginally and a larger one for people with heavy flow or who have given birth. You'll probably just have to purchase a larger cup.

Not sure if you’re still looking for another reusable period option but I’ve heard great things about period underwear

You should try the Thinx period underwear, they work great and I just wash them with my normal laundry. They are a little pricey to start, but overtime they are worth it. You never need to buy period stuff again. Oh! And they are great for postpartum!

I loved that you showed a drawer with notebooks. I need to badly reorganise. We moved a few weeks ago and with 4 little ones im only just getting the house in order now...... i need inspo to get on top of it. And ps i like seeing how slim you are. I need to lose my extea 10 or so kilos and youre inspiring me!! I was your weight until baby 3.... then i ate terribly. It is so hard. Now im reducing my food a great deal and seeing slow but sure results. Thanks for sharing all of this in your he stuff xxx

Can you elaborate more on the cornstarch thing for Theo? Did you make it yourself or did you buy it? How do you use it? I've been pouring some on my baby's butt but it gets messy, I'd like to know some alternate ways to use it.

I’m sure it’s been recommended already (and I don’t actually know from experience) but getting a larger sized cup after parity is a good idea. Also I recommend using period underwear instead of panty liners as an additional protection ☺️

For the period cup you should go a size up! You just stretched out, so the smaller cup is kinda too small. I would recommend searching a slightly bigger one!

As many people have mentioned you can get different sizes of menstrual cups which may help. Also you could get a few cloth pads - I love them and you can just pop them in the wash with towels or your cloth nappies or whatever really. They're so much nicer than disposable ones and are of course better for the environment.

Cloth liners are great!! They come in really pretty prints as well. Just hop onto etsy and have a look at some (Plus support small biz and eco friendly). Great option. Cloth pads are also great but some people are grossed out by them (Hannahpads are a good all rounder company that do pads and liners)
