I really can't stand people that just latch on to "their aim sucks so they're terrible at the game" like dude even top 500 players can always improve on their own aim and this is gold so no shit they aren't gonna have flawless aim. Good aim might help you win a fight, but good positioning will help you win the game. I applaud the person that submitted this because I love those days when I'm really dialed in with widow but I never have had the confidence to play her in ranked and even on my better characters I'd never have the confidence to submit a game for Emongg to review so they have my respect for having vastly more confidence than I do.

1 - love this idea of proving people can improve and that Elo hell can be conquered. 2 - love that rant when the random person was complaining about the aim. And your 100% right cause even cheats will cap out elo where you game sense is. 3 - this wholesome idea gave me a really good idea, can we promote people saying "where can I find my support" instead of "where's my support at" because it sounds much less aggressive & they can respond with their location which is actually helpful and constructive to team play.

the troll was talking missed shots when they played.... mei..... you WILL miss most icicles, they move slow and have a weird shooting mechanic where they fire a second AFTER you hit the fire button, so its VERY hard to aim icicles and land hits at range

i do really appreciate the defense on their aim. people in lower ranks tend to say "oh well their aim is bad, therefore THEY are bad and thatll fix all their problems". overwatch is a very complex game in the sense that having great aim wont automatically put you in high rank. even people in t500 miss their shots every now and again

Aim comes with time. It just does. It’s a practice thing. But being told not to do a specific play in a situation so that they survive is something far quicker to implement. You can’t just be like “ah aim better”, because you will with time and practice. That’s all you can use. Plus their aim was great. Wasn’t top 500 but nothing to scoff at, they did great that game.

if ya think about it, by improving your positioning you can live alot longer resulting in more active playtime therefore giving you more time to learn the mechanics and become better at the game, getting off more ultimates, having more chances for counterplay/reducing the effectiveness of the enemy teams plays

Change your grapple sensitivity. It seems to often behave in a way you don't expect. The default settings for grapple suck.

Problem I noticed is the reason they were LOS or distanced from their sups was because they were pumping all their heals straight up their tanks ass all game. If they swapped to a more brawly hero (like when they were on mei) they would have moved with their tank and the supports would also be there naturally

That random user trashing the Widow’s aim is exactly how it is. I’m a Bronze DPS and my aim isn’t consistent in the slightest. I struggle with getting overwhelmed (it’s obvious people target Widow, but I keep getting dogpiled playing Sojourn as well) and it’s hard to keep up aim under pressure. I remember in my first few hours of the game (not playing comp, just Unranked), I would get yelled at and called useless by my teammates playing Widow Bcs I was struggling with the basics of the game. Emongg is right in that there’s so much more to the game than aim. I mean, look at characters like Lucio and Moira. Aim isn’t important on those characters as much as their impact on the game. And there’s plenty of top 500 Moiras and Lucios out there.

As someone who is practicing Widow, this is invaluable. I have the worst time telling where I can grapple and where I can't. Also the panic when people get in your face is very real

One thing I don’t see vid coachings talk about is pinging enemies. Especially if the person doesn’t use comms, it’s so useful. Things like flanks or sombra’s are easier foiled with a simple ping. Also, when you feel like you’re not getting healed, switch off and adapt to something that’s better self sustaining or mobiled lol

Wild improvement, does better than me on widow, and the climb is CRAZY to see in just 6 months. The entire thing is quite a glow-up in terms of all-around gameplay. I absolutely loved to see this. I hope this user continues the climb ❤❤

I enjoy this whole aim talk lol I thought it was my aim so i went and trained that. I hit just about every shot i take but it means nothing if i don't know how to play with my team or position well. Love the videos!!!!! Honestly so enjoyable and you've helped me feel better about the game in general and improve as an Overwatch player XD

And when you said that you'll have some round where you can hit lots of your shots and some where you just miss them all, I felt that cause I have rounds like that all the time! Where and how you take fights can be improved easily and immediately. Aim takes time and practice (which you get every game all game). Positioning gives you easier shots and more time/room to think. It's not a mountain. It's a labyrinth. Progress is around a corner.

tbh i think their aim is fine, I think what holds them back is their sights because it seems universal among their dps and with widow I find that just using a center dot helps a lot more

i dont think their aim is bad per se. i think they just have shit sensitivity with a really small mousepad combo. look for example 14:45 how their crosshair is moving like a constrained space for the wrist is the issue. they just need to smooth that out and they will, in combination with good positioning and awareness, climb even more

Like lots of others said, I love that you're defending the aim. There's literally people that use aimbot and still can't play worth a crap, consistently losing games. You can have the best aim, but that doesn't automatically translate to you being good at overwatch lol.

The person continuously bitching about Aim is 100% in the rank they're in ONLY because of their aim. They probably have the WORST positioning, understanding of mechanics, ult timings, etc. You can have aimbot levels of aim, but you can still lose if you run in like an idiot and die immediately because you don't understand what to do, when to do it, and where you should be. Also, their aim is fine, literally 100% better than most of my teammates in QP games.

Sorry I have the music off in overwatch and the fact this is the first time I have heard the overtime music and I was so confused to where it where coming from…

Emongg's glorious positivity is a double-edged sword here. Aim aside, I think there's merit to giving the feedback that he shouldn't have been playing Widow. If his goal is strictly to improve his Widow play, then sure, you give feedback where you can and assume aim will improve. But his goal is clearly to win and climb, which was illustrated by the fact he swapped to Mei on defense. This feels like an instance where a player is forcing Widow because they occasionally hit shots and feel good about it. Widow's job is to get fight opening or fight ending picks, but he was mostly getting elims in fights that were already won or lost. There are so many heroes that have a similar playstyle to Widow that could have provided exponentially more value to his team, and that's worth acknowledging if you really want to climb.

The “just get better aim” crowd on overwatch is so loud when aim is not even top 3 most important skills on this game

I would 100% rather have a teammate know their positioning and understand whats going on in team fights, then someone who is just playing tdm worried about "accuracy" aka kills. I was in silver recently now plat1 and only because I realized evading is 90% of the game. I wouldn't mind submitting a video, id love to hear what I'm doing wrong. I quite often have more then double the healing, half the deaths than the other healer, not that I'm trying to diss it, but it's about every other game where our tank says things like "this lw is a god" and I pair well with tanks that acknowledge a healer desperately trying to save them lol...

Well when he was widow he could have used mines a bit more for his own defense specially if sombra is there, honestly the swap was a bit too fast to evaluate him on defense on attack well, same problem, also i wouldnt pick widow regardless of the map if they have a lot of divers because i know that like him i wont have a good time

this guy isn't bad, ik alot of the comments can be nasty. but tbf learning a sniper isn't easy. i mean mei is pretty easy lol but her right click does have some learning curve to it since it's a projectile. but like i normally play lucio only, only recently started playing dps and i've picked up hanzo just because his arrows seem to be similar to lucio's gun so it's a lil easier to adapt, i mean yes his arrows fire a little faster.

their aim, yes it's something to improve on, but it's already really good, it's better than mine to be completely honest and i have 30-35% accuracy with widowmaker so :/

yes, aim is important, but i have seen people who're pretty damn impressive aimers stuck in plat because overwatch is not their main game and they don't do anything to try to improve their gamesense

If you main Widow your swap character should be Sojourn/Cassidy not Mei. Just play Sojourn really, can basically one trick her she's good in everything.

As a support main I can't seem to hot key my emote message to say "come to me for healing". I usually have to ping the injured party which doesn't seem to matter if I'm talking to a specific individual I just need to be seen as a healing beacon so they can come to me. I can see them just fine I more often then not just need that sweet sweet LOS. Let's meet halfway. xD What I DO have hotkeyed for my supports are "Fall back" and "On my way". I use the latter when I get sent back to spawn and when someone is hurt but notably in a bad/far position. Healing a Widow that's far in the back is not my highest priority so yes PING ME for healing. One health pack is not always enough and sometimes you're only next to a mini so I get it. If I'm playing Mercy I only "pocket" when the opportunity arises. I trust you have the DMG to get that Elim. They'll be looking a me cuz I keep reviving people. xD

Better aim is much harder to train than positioning.... Your chat understands that mechanics need work, but when the guy playing is missing 80% of their shots, that's the most serious issue.
