I'm an Italian girl, 5 years ago I leave Italy to go live in Switzerland with only my dad who have an extremely open mind. The last year, after passed 3 years in an relationship with my actually fiancé, I decide to become Muslim so one day I did. My father reaction was nice, he accept my decision and now, for the fact that he drink alcohol and he eat haram food, he give so much attention to tell me where he do his haram things. My family in Italy don't know that I become Muslim because I know that they never accept this but one day, In'Sha'Allah, I will tell they that I'm Muslim and I'm proud of that. If Allah puts u through a tough time for instance if ur family doesn’t accept u or abandon you(may Allah not let this happen) then u must put ur courage together and leave everything to Allah and pray that Allah leads ur relatives to the right path following the Sunnah of our Prophet (pbuh)

Zãrã K. Hi! A Muslim from Iran here! You can use convert for any faith or religion. Although, some newly became Muslims prefer using revert because based on a saying from prophet Mohammad, all children are born knowing there is only one God and therefore being kind of Muslim from the beginning. So they prefer using revert as going back to the origin. Of course convert can be used here too, it's just the matter of personal preference (in my opinion).
