💯 yeah sampling is interesting in that way that if you look back far enough, you'll find that somebody at some point in time was maybe the second or third plus person to be inspired by a piece of music. Whether it was Beethoven being inspired by Mozart's compositions and even directly modeling his compositions after Mozart's work. Who also modeled his works after Bach who was before him. Or whether it was Maxwell covering Kate Bush's "This Woman's Work", But every Maxwell fan thinking that that was his original piece. There's also a very distinct difference between covering a song and sampling the sonic elements of a song and calling those elements our own. Its an interesting topic as it relates to many types of art like collage art or food or music. I guess in a way I like to look at the music industry as if it has discovered microwaved meals or fast food. People still create original recipes today, but the convenience of a microwavable meal or fastfood is too enticing and has become more and more popular to a majority because of that convenience. But just like the microwavable meal or fastfood, people can begin to grow tired of it. They may want a fresh cooked meal with a fresh recipe and they may come up with a fresh recipe but that recipe, in some way shape or form, is going to be inspired from somewhere. Essentially, Just like food, music will never stop being consumed of course. So I think the world comes up with new/different ways to consume each of the two, both food and music, to try to sort of keep the palate interested I think,🤔😅. But an original recipe can't be beaten that is a fact🥣🎶🙏
By far one of the most intelligent comments on the debate period. This is what I’m trying to point out to people. You have to think and look deeper than just the famous producers opinion. So much knowledge in your comment that I myself can learn from. See when people are not butt hurt and wanna take shots at the messenger you can achieve this. Man thank sooooo much for this man. I hope to see you around moving forward because we need that balance on the topic.
@@jaixiviii No definitely not🤣💯, that is until that restaurant worker is foundout to have a full-blown food truck business and chef school degree on the side and can actually throw down🤣THEN maybe that restaurant worker carrying the title of sous chef is justified😄
@@oO5Dynasty Thank you🙏 I'm definitely passionate about music and a student to it all in general, as I'm sure all of us here are, but I've definitely sat and wondered about things like Ai music, Track Lib, Arcade by Output and similar programs and just everything in general that's happening to music to make it "easier". I've even heard people say that Ai will be their "golden ticket". People are free to do what they will, however, true artistry will stand the test of time.💯
Good thing it’s a skip on here. You almost wasted 20 minutes of my time. I thought you was gonna show how easy it is. With the MPC right there, you just talked. Smh
You said that comment for what reason? You are wasting time in life in general in my humble opinion! You can show your accolades anytime I will be waiting!
What i took from this video is that you’re envious of talented producers who can sample it’s an art to it you’re literally creating a collage from original records & making it make it sense, go listen to Amerie Why don’t we fall in love that sampling is art
I have the same opinion as you but the sad thing is that in the future music will only consist of stealing. Every note will have been played before, every sound will have already existed, so it will all come down to sampling and stealing. As soon as no one is allowed to steal anymore, music is dead.
Man such great information to be honest. I totally respect your thoughts about the future. You have a great mind that thinks ahead and that is special! I hope you stick around and drop more knowledge on my videos. Your philosophy is needed in this world. Great comment! ❤️🙏👍
@@oO5Dynasty I was watching a video of top level pianist who plays gospel. He would play a gospel song and then play the rnb verison..then he would play a classical song and then play the same song in country music...He showed that many songs are the same and sound the same plus or minus some chords or the cadence. What he showed was similar to your video did where you were breaking down songs ..yours was the samples his was the chords. (I'm not disagreeing I'm adding to the perspective but showing you another dimension of it that even playing things yourself doesn't mean it's totally original because any chord you play has been played before and many times the same way you played it....creativity is the great divider that makes it all sound different.
Yes the mother of my children was sleeping and I have respect for my family! Your point? Did you have anything educational to add to the debate or the child In you came to play games?
sampling can be easy or hard pause, ive seen 9th match up samples from totally different parts and records, making originals can be easy or hard too so depending on how crazy you tryna get
Making something your own based on sampling really is an art form. its a HUGE part of hip-hop, and modern music in general. that being said, finding a good sample and making the chops and adding drums and bass is pretty easy. but also, making a 4 bar chord progression based loop with drums and bass is actually pretty easy as well. whats actually hard is making something really REALLY good. fresh, exciting, new. in whatever medium. is a collage maker less of an artist than a painter? its all art. it sucks when people are lazy, or when someone's hard work is ripped off without acknowledgement, but at the same time, its just part of the game. I like making sample based beats, but i usually don't because i don't want to deal with the legal issues. so, I mostly make stuff from scratch. I like to make my own everything, even sound patches, but that's because its fun. but a lot of the best beats ive made have been sampled too. in a way its sort of a collaboration, cause its taking something great and making it greater. maybe its like a producers way of doing a musical cover? who knows. I wouldnt let it bother you though.
You said a lot and some of this I agree with. But I’m not letting sampling bother me I was bothered by 9th wonder disrespecting original producers. My favorite producer of all time is a sample based producer. The problem I’m seeing is people are not understanding the debate. Thank you for your comment because I do agree with some of your point’s.
@@oO5Dynasty fair enough, haha. I think you're kinda right it's not harder. I feel like they are both equally difficult. But it's kinda an obvious cope he's doing. Like 'sampling isn't easy, it's actually harder' lol
That is a very logical and educational point. That is exactly my point! I love sampled beats, and I love the art created with it. I just had to speak up for the producer who has it equally hard to create from scratch. Loved what you said here no lie! #respect
None of you have any idea what ur talking about....sampling is amazing because u don't understand how it translates to a bigger audience that wouldn't have ever listened or been exposed to.....and the sampling techniques and how far they digg....there's never a ceiling of how much music is actually out there.....u can't even speak let alone talk about shit u don't know about....
You’re so bothered about sampling man you sound like you’re about to cry. Why have you got so much hate for sampling hahaha 😂 I have no stake in this I’ve literally just started watching videos about beats so don’t start saying I’m on either side you’re just crazy bro 😂
@@dootwoot says the person who left multiple comments crying on my channel! You sound and look like you’re hella invested. Please don’t lie on me tho I will say that. I never said I hate sampling and if you wanna challenge what I’m saying go make a video and post it for your subscribers.
Damn you're so long winded and trying to sound like you know a lot. If Kellz wasn't pressed and got his money and credit I don't see the problem. Everything isn't supposed to be an elaborate chop/rearrangement. Sometimes a 4 or 8 bar loop with some banging drums under it is all you need.
@@oO5Dynasty It would help your case to show that you can redo 9ths chops instead of just talking about it. It’s clear you can hear where he chopped it, why not show it practically? Just a thought🤷🏽♂️
@RodChiefs maybe you don’t understand what is going on here! You might wanna check the playlist of the videos talking about this. I’m not trying to build any case vs anybody. If you wanna hear what I was referring too, I state it in the video for you to go and do so. This is a talking video with talking points! So please don’t assume my intentions for my video and really listen to my words and understand what I’m saying in my video! 🤷♂️
You took too long to get to the point. furthermore, producers is not claiming sampling is hard. There’s too many tutorials of producers showing you how it’s done. So what is your true point🤔🤷🏻♀️🤷🏻♂️🤷🏽
Make something half as good as 9th Wonders worst. You’re looking at it top down not bottom up. It’s always easy to say “the sample chop is so easy” once someone has already done it. Until some one does it, no one has done it. On top of that’s you’re overlooking drum choices, sonics and drum grooves.
So attacking me will get you where exactly? The rest of your paragraph is easy to debunk. I will let you have your assumptions because you do not understand my knowledge etc.
Your envy bleeds through the screen, thinking a sampling producer is more close to someone who plays the instrument vs a conductor who arranges and creates a pallet for a rapper to spit, go listen to tribe called quest or something music is not subject to one form of creation that’s so close minded and sad you gotta expand your mind
In other words find a better hill to die on then “sampling is easy and takes no skill” because most of hip hops greatest songs are samples in 20 years people will know these songs because they were sampled not the other way around you think to in the now
You know, you must don't know what the conversation is about. (missed the original video I'm assuming) I will let you be because it is clear that you have an agenda. If your musical career is doing great right now, you do not have to speak to me. You, good my G
I'd like to see what you come up with, flip the same sample in your own style. If you enjoy making original compositions, that's fine for you, it's never been the basis for sampling. You're acting like the original producers on A Woman's Threat weren't properly compensated or something. You are hyperventilating through most of video, while claiming everyone else is overreacting because they like something that you don't.
First off, you have to have the ear to know what to sample. That's a art in itself and it's easy to say you know how to do something once it's already been done and you just copy what they did LOL. What are you talking about? You have never even thought to sample it in the first place. That's the difference
I hear the hurt emotions over there man. So if you did your homework 9th wonder didn’t even think of the song a woman’s threat. It was Jay-z who told him to flip it. Man oh man, it is easy to sample and you mad because the truth is being spoken. Who doesn’t have the ear to sample, you hear a song you like and you say I wanna sample from it. How hard is that? Lmao! Is it hard to sample a melody one shot and loop it on your pads! Man please stop it man lol. 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 you really made me laugh. Dam thank you for this comment brought a smile to my face! Dam 😆
@@oO5Dynasty where are your beats? It doesn't matter if it was Jay-Z's idea. 9th was still the one who did it thinking of something and actually doing it are two different things. Anybody can have the idea to cook chicken but that doesn't necessarily mean it's going to come out to be a gourmet meal.. If everybody could make beats like 9th then they would be doing it including yourself.
@@seldomsceen So are you trying to challenge me or something? Let me know what is your point of trying to attack me about music production. Was I the person who disrespected original producers or was it 9th Wonder. So your logic is because somebody is famous they have the only say in the matter. That is a brainwashed soul that cannot think for themselves. You let a famous person do the thinking for you. I have nothing to hide my dude! You on my channel right, we’ll use your mouse or fingers and go to my main page. You can find my beats my full songs rhyming and my freestyles. You can see me live streaming music production from scratch. Oh and I’m ready for your hating comments so please let them fly. More content for me! So run along and since you asked go look at my content! Or just google me, and I hope your accolades are better than mine!
An emotional comment lol! That is an easy task my friend, but can he or you create one of the songs he sampled from scratch? Can you creating the song a woman’s threat from scratch? See when you talk just to talk off your emotions cause you upset at what I’m saying, you sound you know what. But I challenge you to make an original song like one of the songs he sampled. Now do that and I will promote what you did to a million people. I’m not even saying this to be disrespectful, I’m sincerely asking. Thanks for your comment by the way, you gave me another talking point.
I agree, but 9th Wonder was disrespecting producers who create original content. I’m giving my opinion on that topic. But I get what you are saying tho. I actually love sampled beats but people can’t see past their hate for my opinion. Thanks for your comment and not disrespecting like the rest!
@@1425osint Can you give me more context on what I said that sparked your question? Your last sentence tells me you did not see the first video on this topic.
