The best part about the “boy goggles” part is I remember how much hype this movie had as a kid when the 3D movies was starting. They actually had different 3D goggles the boys got shark and the girls would get the pink lavagirl ones. That was a deep memory that just came up.

I think I heard somewhere that the Director got this idea from one of his kids, like they mainly pitched the idea and he wrote it into a script. I think that's why this movie has such a weird fever dream quality to it, and this came out after Spy Kids 3: Game Over, which also featured a lot of not great CGI that was made for 3-D glasses. He had a good budget and went for it it seems

I once had a copy of this movie... actually two, but I'll get to that later. The first copy I saw so many times that I broke the DVD. It was so broken that the english subtitles soon came up by default. Before eventually only the line "Fudge" was visible, all orange. Years later, I got a new DVD of the movie, and that's when I figured out my first one was likely a bootleg. My new copy had an animated Main Menu whereas the other one's menu was static. My new copy not only had a 'Glasses On' screen featuring toboR before the movie started, but was actually in 3D. My original was entirely 2D. But the biggest giveaway was the back of the case. I saw two things wrong. My original called it a "Family Entertainment" as in a singular family entertainment. My new copy rated it the accurate (and genuine) PG, while the original rated it PG-13. And, by the way, that PG-13 did *_not_* look like it came from the MPAA. But regardless of which copy, I find it harder to see that movie even _with_ rose-tinted-goggles on (no, I don't mean 3D glasses).
