With just a week to go until my wedding, I discovered I'd made an oopsie. What followed was a last-minute Greyhound trip to visit my beloved in Boston, thanks to friend of the channel Miles in Transit! It turned out to be the perfect opportunity to answer your questions.

You know what I just realized was that Miles and Classy 🐳 both have girl friends from the other city
@AverytheCubanAmerican
That Greyhound driver was priceless, I understand her patience dealing with New Jersey drivers. Miles’s subway tie is killer! I definitely need that! I think the coolest tie I have is a wooden bow tie with the NYC skyline, I got cool ties because of my time in high school Model UN! That wedding photo is so great! Out of the light-rail systems, the HBLR is my favorite system. All the development that has popped up because of it, all the connections to ferries, PATH, and commuter rail, building an elevator right off the Palisades at 9th/Congress, 8th Street station being built in the same style as the CNJ station that came before it, overall a very cool system that continues to unify the western Hudson communities.

Man you guys really speedran the marriage process

Miles in his nyc tie and complaining is hard to take seriously?

Thank you so much for sharing your adventurous journey in the snow to Boston. It was great that you used the classic American coach company, Greyhound to start with before moving onto the newcomer, Flixbus. Their green coaches look good with the orange details on them, the coaches around here are allover green and look a little boring in comparison but like the one you used, work well. We are absolutely delighted that you showed us a part of your wedding day, we feel like we have been on a journey with you and it has been great to be part of this too. We are absolutely delighted for you both.
@alexwithclipboard
This is a good backup for if you can't get the Amtrak sponsorship.

Kalkidan sounds like a city on the Indian subcontinents
@sammymarrco2
LOVE the miles cameo!
@stephenkeever6029
Congratulations! You took a transit problem and made it into interesting trip, added a Miles inebriated cameo, and showed off Kalkidan's wonderful voice! May your marriage be long and beautiful.

This feels like the epitome of a Classy Whale video:

Kalkidan has such a wonderful singing voice! You are both incredibly talented and wholesome, so you make the perfect couple! For the questions you answered, I know for others Amtrak service to Ronkonkoma sounds silly, but I too am supportive of it. I view it as true NYC regional rail, being able to go from LI to New Jersey without having to switch trains! They don't have to deal with freight railways since the MTA owns the tracks, and they need to balance out the extra regionals going to Virginia and they're limited by how many they can run on the NHL section, so branching out to Ronkonkoma makes sense! The Ronkonkoma Branch is the LIRR's crown jewel with the Main Line being triple-tracked, easternmost electrified LIRR branch, and has led to TOD like Wyandanch and Ronkonkoma. As long as the local bus system continues to improve, progress is very much possible on Long Island.

Before the PABT, Greyhound had its own facility by Penn Station, the B&O Railroad had a bus terminal on Lexington Ave (with coach service to Communipaw Terminal via ferry), and there was another terminal closer to Times Square at the notorious Hotel Carter. The hotel opened as the Hotel Dixie in 1930 with the Central Union Bus Terminal. Buses entered beside the hotel’s entrance on West 43rd and proceeded underground where there was a 35-foot turntable (the B&O's bus terminal also had a turntable) which rotated to lead the buses to their berths. The terminal closed in 1957 because after the PABT opened in 1950, it just simply couldn't compete with it. They made it a parking garage, and the turntable and waiting room floor remained for decades.

@Tolya1979
Congratulations, Caleb and Kalkidan! Best of luck to you.
@NYer8301
Congratulations!!
@peterelvery
Hi Caleb. I'm sure it's no surprise to you that Kalky has a great singing voice, with both clarity and character (which rarely go together) and her pitch control is superb.
@Leonard_Wilson
You should have a crossover episode with Miles where you, him, Kalkidan, and Aleena go railfanning.
