Plus... Uno LOVED all the attention he got at the airport (but his human@thekatcurtisHATED all the attention she got at TSA 😹) FEATURED: Uno: @one_eared_uno Kat: @thekatcurtis Cat Carrier: @YourCatBackpack
Many years ago I took my cat, Happy, on the plane with me. He absolutely loved it and put his paws on the window sill and watch the clouds go by. Of course he ended up being the star of the show on the plane. Still miss him and love him after all these years.
Get high, meet new and interesting humans. Get more treats, some from other humans, still high watch the dogs get crammed under the metal tube. Hang out with all the humans in comfort. All in all a good day for a cat.
Great comment, I actually let out an audible chuckle, if you knew me you would realize you had just accomplished what others considered impossible. Well done.
many cats do that with gaba because it tastes bad. the liquid one we got in clinic when I was still in vet med was some sort of fruity grape flavor. you can always get it compounded through a third party pharmacy with a much milder and more accepted flavor if you're using it often enough/willing to pay a usually small cost difference.
Uno is one chill kitty! I love my cat, but he would not like any part of going on a trip like this. He hates the carrier and I have no idea what he would do if I let him out of it in a public space.
I took my cat Stripe maybe over a decade ago on the plane with me. He hated it. I didn’t give him any drugs, didn’t feed 8hrs before to avoid dealing with vomit. He cried pitifully the whole time. When it came time for the TSA, they insisted I let him out of his carrier. I warned them that he wouldn’t like it. Let’s just say as a result, Stripe became my hat. I continued to go about my belongings to prove I wasn’t hiding anything. Since my new hat kept crying, a passenger asked if I needed help, while the TSA agent looked as if she felt sorry for me, but didn’t offer help. Other passengers looked on in amazement as I kept my cool and hoped I wasn’t bleeding onto the floor. I think I will definitely try drugs next time.
That is going to depend lately on the cat's demeanor. The variance in demeanor is wide from one cat to another. It's more common for a cat to need something to calm down than not in a stressful situation.
A lot vets do not co-sign to giving pets meds before a flight. Did you not have anything like feliway spray or to give Him? Maybe look at those options, coz meds are not always the best choice, and can be harmful 👍🏾. Just saying.
That's my only worry about animals on planes. I love the idea in theory, but then I remember how red and swollen my sister's eyes were after being in a room with a cat.... and I don't know anymore. I guess the air filters would help, but what If the cat is sitting near you or there's more than one?
My human had to pay a fee for me to be on the airplane. If a passenger discloses they have a cat allergy to the airlines, they'll either seat them far away from us (or potentially allow them to switch their flight)
Kids scream all the time on planes and cats and dogs barely scream at all if they're well behaved like uno, yet airlines still really dont like when pets are on planes
Pets are unpredictable. This one time a lady was sitting next to a grizzly bear and without any warning he attacked her. Fortunately, there were experts nearby and she survived.
