He's very easy tho. He only beat me once and even then it was just because of my own carelessness (got caught on a pile bunker) and not because he's strong.
Kind of interesting that Nightfall Raven has the same RaD build we start with other than the head. Probably made the impersonation a lot easier lore wise.
@@Ezekiel_Alliumbecause Walter only recently got established on Rubicon during the events of the game, and he got established because of the mission 617 completed in the story trailer, nightfall leaked information about coral before that because the corporations had been fighting for a decent amount of time by the start of the game.
@@Monkeylighthouse Okay, but what makes you so certain the "he got established because of the mission 617 completed in the story trailer" ? How can you be confident that isn't the same incident as the leak? Again, we have no context for the timeline of the trailer. I think it's possible it could have happened long before you think it did, imo. We already know Walter is actively lying to us about his relationship to Rubicon, and I think it's interesting that overseer's logo is a tree and the hacker group raven's with is called branch.
The OG Nightfall is honestly not a bad build if you just update the internals. Pilebunker and Songbirds do 90% of the work anyway. The AR can be surprisingly useful, I just think the flanking missiles are shit
I really hate the flanking missiles but they could still work fine for hitting with like 1 or 2 missiles each time. I just switched the gen and booster and the missiles to 6 cell and the AR to the Turner cause it looks nicer. Other than that nightfall is super fun set up, quintessential armored core
Arms & legs: Melander C3 Rifle: Harris Missiles: 8-cell verticals Booster: P06SPD FCS: Talbot Generator: Ming Tang Everything else is the same as the original I tried to stick as close to the original concept as possible, which was a high-mobility medium biped, while making improvements where possible. Felt quite good to call it NIGHTFALL MK.2
Actually seems pretty doable, obviously cant just have the gun arms sadly, but the 12 cell vertical missile launcher and grenade cannon is pretty easy to replicate. I think there are some similar enough frame parts on it as well. I'll work on it a bit and see if I cant get a video out about in a few days since it seems like it could be a fun build.
There are a lot of different versions of Nineball, and the closest I've been able to replicate is the original Armored Core 1 Nineball. The only thing that is different is the main energy weapon, but the dual missiles, grenade launcher, and moonlight blade are all the same. Actual parts are just look-alikes. To be fair, any assortment of weapon arms in VI would be a fantastic addition and it makes me sad that there aren't any. Thankfully there isn't anything to do with Kojima Particles!
Honestly, I've gotten pretty fixated on the nexus version since it gives me a great excuse to use the earshot grenade cannon so I'm probably going to do a build based on that. Worried about being overburdened quite a bit though, the big missile launcher, earshot, and two rifles? Gonna be HEAVY
Spent some more time thinking about and just decided to make a version that pulls from all the different versions and take a few creative liberties with it, Nineball has changed a lot over the games anyways so it seems a bit unnecessary to get fixated on just one version.
I'm planning to build AC similar to Nightfall raven for my NG++ playthrough and I just realized 621 and Nighfall raven are almost identical. the only parts different are the head and weapons...
the pile bunker fake out is a blast though if you have good melee boosters. Boost in, fake out maybe another fake out, hit 'em with the sweet sixteen. nothing better than that
It's really fun doing challenge pve run that solely based your build on the starter/Nightfall gears, a good handicap that balanced out some of the meta weaponries and all the OS tunings that you've gotten after NG+2
I changed the legs to wreckers 3000, missle launcher to plasma launchers, curtis linear rifle and gave him the light coral generator with upgraded boosters. Looks like a mk II version
I considered changing the legs to the wreckers too, main reason I decided against it was that the top half of the legs is so wide I felt like it just didn't match well with it.
I would argue the VP-422 legs are better for a mk II, they maintain the same shape of the 2C-2000 Crawler. In fact the entire VP series of frame parts works well aesthetically with the Nightfall loadout.
Ooh, I hadn't considered that, I'll have to do that too lol. I'm actually getting quite a back log of ACs I want to do the campaign with that I'm worried I'll be playing this game until old before I get through them.
I went in a very different direction with a spiritual successor build. It keeps the headpiece but uses the Hal legs, Alba body, and VP 460 arms. The right hand weapon is a Curtis rifle, although that can easily be traded out as needed. In the left hand it uses the laser dagger for consistency, which is paired with assault burst during ACS break to replace pile bunker damage. The shoulders include a songbird and the 6-pod missile system, mostly because it's quick to reload and attain target lock. This leaves room for a VP-20C generator with weight to spare, and depending on your booster, it can approach 350 boost speed. The idea is that the large generator, laser dagger, and assault armour are all mutually supportive elements in closer quarters. The remaining weapons allow fighting at medium range, with the Curtis' charge shot sort of standing in for a shotgun under some circumstances; otherwise, it can just push out shots to maintain stability pressure. Slap on a battle-damaged, greyish aesthetic and you're good to go. Personally, I like this build as a way to train skill in lighter generalist setups, but due to the open weight and energy on the build, it can be flexibly built upon to serve other roles. Just be aware that it dives to around 300 boost speed very quickly as you add heavier pieces.
You know I always felt weird about all of this "Character Build bad" statement. These build are not meant to be Op, they are here telling a story, to show a character's face without actually human face
Ming-Tang will always be my default generator. I certainly dont make the most of energy weapons, my EN output isn't insane and I can't go crazy with QBs but god damn that energy recharge is nothing to scoff at. Any lightweight-midweight build with low EN requirements loves that generator.
Personally I love the big coral generator, boosting around with that thing on a light build and hitting those assault armors on a staggered opponent just feels right
I too made some improvements to Nightfall as a build. What I decided to do is to encapsulate the spirit of a true raven while retaining key parts. Meaning, I kept the Head, core, arms the same but I swapped the legs out for Spring Chicken for better jump height and increased QB distance. Next I also swapped the Assault rifle for the larger handgun. Kept Pile bunker because that's his iconic weapon, then I used the bigger coral generator, FCS-G2/SLT FCS, and the Gridwalker for its slightly better Melee thrust and style points. Back mounts I use the Stun Needle launcher, and BML-G2/P19SPL-12. I added glossy black accents, Nightfall's emblem, and now I call it ('cuz I'm a gundam nerd), Nightfall Amazing. The build is brutal, can consistently land pile bunker hits, and even if I'm too far out of range I can stun needle punish. the split missiles are shot from the air while closing in and they do pretty awesome impact buildup and can contribute to ACS so long as you keep pressure with the handgun. It's also worth it to kick, and jab with the 'bunker and also to dart up into the air to make counterplay and melee counters more difficult for enemy AC's. That's how I chose to fly on borrowed wings. It's still not perfect, but hey, it looks cool and performs better than average now so win I guess lol.
Before getting to your changes my opinion is that the assault rifle fits since it builds a little stagger and song birds sings the tune leading to the bunker coming in and missile support as well great for forcing a dodge or small mts The internals ill agree with thoucan be better
That's actually a cool idea. I just beat AC6 1st playthrough. I'll start on NG+ after I get all the parts I can get. I would go 100% energy weapon build on this one.
parts substitions that i think have similar proportions and themes while offering higher performance head: you can't change this, it's the most iconic part arms: Nachtreiher 46E torso: VP-40S legs: VP-422 another thing to note is that if you want the best possible quickboost performance, you need to pay attention to "QB Reload Ideal Weight" and compare it to your Total Weight - the build in this video goes over the ideal weight of the Alula thrusters. i don't have any concrete evidence of how much worse this makes your performance but yeah
You can actually see in his stats that the impact isn't actually that big. The boosters have a base quick boost cooldown of 0.35. If you look at his stats his current cooldown is 0.38, so only a difference of .03. This is the only thing that going over weight affects besides a heavier build moving slower in general.
Going a little overweight on the thrusters isn't a huge deal. Its when you go way over by 15k or more that you start seeing substantial degradation. Always good to compare your expanded thruster stats to other options when building for that reason.
As Seinglede said, it only makes a small difference in this case but I did actually consider using the gills for this exact reason. The reason I went for the alulas instead is for the higher boost speed, which I find helps strafe out of bullet/missile fire quite a bit as well as making it easier to get in close for the pile bunker hits.
I dont mind the Scudder assault rifle. The rapid fire is nice and allows you to keep the trigger down without it charging some special attack. Its impact isnt great but the number of rounds it fires easily allows it to keep pace with some of the higher impact rifles. Nightfall totally whooped me our first go around but after I put my melee weapon back on it was lights out pretty easily.
TBF, I might just be biased against the assault rifles, on my first playthrough I basically never took the handguns off after I got them because I love them so much.
I did basically the same, mine is a fast biped with the burst ar, plasma launcher, missiles and the songbird. Very much a vanilla flavoured assembly, but I can consistently beat V1 Freud with it
Id do this for the frame Wepons: what ever you want in weight limit Head:shade eye Body:main dish Arms:ve-46A Feet:2s-5000 dessert Booster:ib-c03b: ngi 001 Fcs:what ever you want Generator: vp-20c or anything thats better this one just works for me for the most part (and i cant figure out how coral generates work that much ) Its a bit on the heaver side but it gets the job done and can hit hard
It's also important to remember that the NPC ACs in AC6 all have vastly inflated stats and HP relative to the player. Or so I've observed, at least; I'd be surprised to learn they had parity with us, because they *sponge* like evil loofas.
I wanna do a run with each of the ore made acs at some point and really get a feel for most of the weapons and internals. It would be fun to play the story with a lot of underpowered builds and just get really good.
I really don't like how the ALBA series feels compared to everything else because they're just so good that is makes me want to test out builds a lot less, the legs have decent carry weight, they're light, offer decent defense, and look sick as fuck, even if the hips are wider than the waist like a pixar mom
Honestly, I really feel you, mostly on how they look though since I generally value appearance over stats. The legs especially are really hard to not just throw on by default lol
@@Naisarias I keep trying to work other legs into the set, like HAL, for a proper Gundam look, but HAL are much heavier so I can't use my favourite boosters unless I use Ludlows and 4cell missles
With the new patch, the og raven build really got worse overall, he's essentially running around with 2 finisher weapons, missiles, and a low impact AP ripper. His kit screams "I want to chip away at your AP while chasing you down and then do a bit of burst while you cannot dodge... and then theres just a pilebunker...
They need to make it so that her AC has a special frame that looks like a better version of our original frame. Because let’s be honest. The frame looks sick already especially when you add on the head piece. She deserves more love. Everything about her setup minus the head piece is ass. Her arms need basho arm melee specialization and medium firearm spec. Her legs need much higher load limit because damn Bruv ….. Her Core should just be balanced all around being not too overpowering but horrible. I’m sure if FromSoft did that, we would see players incorporating that core more into their builds more. Just simply balance her parts all around and make it an entirely separate frame option from the starter one and I think everyone would be satisfied. Name it something like CC-3000 Orbiter Nightfall, AC-3000 Combat Arm, 2C-3000 Runner, HC-3000/BC Shade Eye.
Sure, I was having troubles getting the designs right for the cosplay builds I'm working on rn, so a build that I don't have to paint with decals sounds perfect.
Also, which version do you mean? I assume you mean his regular G5 AC, but he also has another one he pilots (wont say more in case that'd be spoilers for you)
@@Naisarias I’ve just recently gotten the true ending and loved every second of it. I think it would be interesting to see an evolution of his build throughout but I realize that could be a lot of work. If I had to choose I would go with the one you fight in the arena since that is the worst.
My first playthrough was done with mostly the handgun, pile bunker and some missile pods actually, I used the laser lance for a bit but went back to the pile bunker after a while.
Though I will admit, if you kind of switch the roles of the songbirds and the pile bunker, its actually a fair bit better. The uncharged pile bunker does a ridiculous amount of impact damage and, while not as much as the pile bunker, the songbirds still do a substantial amount of damage. But, I just can't have a pile bunker on and not want to go for charged direct hits.
@@NaisariasCan you use the Songbird as a finisher? The way the build is equipped, maybe the Songbird serves as either the stagger tool for the pile bunker, or to finish someone off if the pile bunker failed to kill them.
The crater you find his AC in also has the remains of an AC transport helicopter like the one 621 uses as a home base. It's implied he got caught while traveling and had to leave his AC behind when he bailed out of the chopprr.
