You guys are wonderful! I took my nationality more than 20years ago, and there were no tests( thank goodness! I may gave failed) but I did have interview with police and 2 spaniards had to vouch for me. I am so proud to be spanish! Welcome to spanishdom:). Keep up the great videos.

@@jerryholland3127 CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, When people go to other peoples countries be nice, dont try and put their country down, or paint it in a negative light to get views, I watch people go to latin america and africa, and they will specifically show you the worst parts, and block out the good parts.

I had my nationality in 1999. We did not have the test then. Both Lola Flores and Montserrat Caballe did not pay their taxes. Lola famously said that if each Spaniard paid 1 peseta towards her taxes, her debt with hacienda would be paid. I had a cat called hacienda (long story)

I heard that in order to become a Spanish citizen, among other conditions, one has to surrender one's previous citizenship, is that right.? Spain does not allow for dual citizenship.?

@@juanasenjo6627 Yes, Spain allows dual citizenship, but it depends on the country. For example, nationals from many countries in South America can keep their original citizenship and get the Spanish one.

How long did it take? I'm hearing from some that it took 2 yrs and money to travel to Madrid and pay a gestor to help apply, too. I wanted to try particularly cos of Brexit , but was put off by what I heard. I'm married to a Spaniard (16ys) and lived here 21 yrs. Thanks For any advice

That was fun and informative! But to be fair, even though I have been watching you for two years, I got over 60% correct, too. My wife had to take the citizen test for the US and it was similarly easy.

One of the best places in the world if you have regular income. Fantastic healthcare, more affordable childcare than in many other countries, kids have loads of friends and it's a very family oriented place! It obvs depends on what part of Spain but kids are less isolated than in many other countries

I was thinking more along the lines of proctor for someone who monitors an exam. I got the feeling James was asking about the English term for an exam monitor although apparently it's the same term in Espanol probably because it derives from Latin in both languages.

White in tetrabrick should not be underestimated, since it is a really cheap option for a very decent cooking wine. When I was living in the UK, I could not find anything so convinient, only 3€ bottles from East Europe, and they were way worse then the Mercadona Tinto.

Primary English speakers (Brits, Australians, Scandanavians, Americans etc) Must Pass a written, oral and listening exam, also. Only Spanish native speakers (peru, latin America, south, central etc) need not do the test.So they're steps ahead in advantages than us 😣😔

Your video reminded me of a bet that I had with an ex-boyfriend that if I win, he would have to kiss me but if I lost, I would have to kiss him. Either way, there would be kisses !!! Having wine, whether you got answers right or wrong is a win-win in my book. This video has put into focus the fact that I need to start studying for the Spanish citizenship exam already. I got some questions right playing along with you, but if this had been the real test, I would have failed. I am not letting that happen when the real test is given. Okay this is not necessarily related to this particular video but I seen one of your videos on white asparagus, and today's the first time in my life I've seen one at a grocery store. It was not until the second time I lived in Spain that I discovered white asparagus up north. Honestly I think I would’ve never known about them if it wasn’t for the fact that I’m pescatarian (I was not pescatarian the first time I went). I was at a restaurant with some classmates and I was so tired of merluza as an alternative to meat that I picked the salad instead. I was not expecting the white asparagus and didn’t even know what I was eating until my professor said “oh you got a delicacy there” and explained what it was. Now I occasionally splurge on some in the US.

I was lucky enough to apply as a resident when UK was still in EU, so all I had t do was prove I was working, , no questions or tests and I didn't speak any Spanish at the time.

It Takes YEARS...And a couple of thousand euros. Ive lived here 21 yrs. Fluent in spanish and married to a Spaniard 16yrs. Im british and looked into into applying for nationailty. Its not easy, the bureacy. Thats life in Spain! I wish i had applied 10 yrs algo, apparently, it was much faster and easier. Tip- don't let them know your super fluent- then they'll give you an easier language test, but you pass the same. There's no better advantages, whether intermediate or less ! You can buy the actual official study book for the exam

Actually if you had named your daughter the other way around, you would’ve signed the document anyway. A few years ago it changed and there is no longer the presumption that dad’s surname comes first. So both parents have to say that is the order they want because it will be the same for all their children in common.

Those kind of tests shoud not exist. They don't show if someone is actually integrated in the society and the community, and if you make half of the spaniards pass it, they would fail.

yeah you only need to be able to take a siesta. comply with any kind of politic pressure. ignore anything regarding economics and you will pass.

You don't need to speak to him. Yes, there are routes for children of Spaniards.

It depends. If your father is originally Spanish, and he was Spanish when you were born, you can get it. If your father obtained Spanish Nationality after you were born, that is not possible, unless you are a minor

Me gustaría añadir una cosa muy poco apropiada para hacer en un edificio con vecinos-sacudir lo que sea por cualquiera de las ventanas.Tengo unos vecinos que hasta sacuden la porquería de sus zapatos en el patio(sobre las cuerdas de nuestra colada)...No hablamos de los pelos,uñas y todo lo que barren del suelo de su casa.
