video inspired by Andrew Friedberg: • Is it SWIFT or SHAKESP... -- although now that I've watched his video I realised I actually took a different quiz! main channel: / thejackexperience Instagram: / jackbenedwards
**thinks it’s from some classic book written 400 years ago by someone who dedicated their life to writing** **is from destiel smut written by a 19 year old in pajamas**
The fact that, there are some hidden gems in ff world which r way better than most of the modern physically published book, has me squeezing..i mean I'm a fan of classics bt there ARE some really good ffs which have the ability to surpass real books- as a reader i love both-
i got a hundred percent on this quiz just because i know almost every tswift lyric.....they told me i was a shakespearean scholar but that is so false lmaooo
The fact that Taylor can even be compared to Shakespeare… I love her. 😂 Edit: Don’t go into the replies unless you want to witness a war. Edit 2: children, I’m three seconds away from deleting this comment if you don’t stop fighting. 😂
Literary genius does not have to be complex or involve elitist grammar, syntax and lexicon in order to be good. For instance, “Tell me, what are my words worth”, could be from a song or a play and the way they are written, both lyrically and in iambic pentameter (considering Shakespeare has created many of the words we speak in English today and has his own lyrical rhythm, which can be taken for song, within iambic pentameter).
@@tuqaridha4821 it seems to me like you only heard of her mainstream songs in the recent years and never stopped to listen to her other songs. you say she writes cliche pop songs but this woman didn't even make her debut as a pop artist. pop isn't her main theme either. she is an artist who tries different genres. just bc you only heard of her pop songs doesn't mean that's all there is to her music. go actually listen to her songs, then come here and talk trash.
When you said "what would William Shakespeare's fan club be called" after saying "swifties"... I said "Willies" cause my brain is on 2% right now (I've been writing midterm papers all week)
Please consider doing an analysis of the song "Carolina" by Taylor Swift, based on the book "Where the Crawdads Sing". If you haven't read the book already, it would be a fun idea to share your thoughts about the song before and after reading the book. We all know by now that Taylor is an amazing lyricist but listening to that song after finishing the book blew my mind! It's pure genius! I've never wanted a video to exist so badly!
My college professor literally used “We are never getting back together” to explain Beatrice in “Much Ado About Nothing.” We spent a class pulling up music vids that fit different characters or situations. He was kind of amazing.
Jack: gonna take this quiz to see if my literature degree was worth it Also Jack: bases 90% of his decisions on how well he knows Taylor Swift's lyrics
I always thought Taylor Swift Stans (including myself) were peppy and cute. I didn’t realise that along with these qualities, we’d all be big readers too.
some of these were HAARD!! I thought everyone called Taylor Shakespeare just because she writes well, but I kinda feel like some of the writing has similar vibes - like upholding elegance, grace, and something to do with smooth polished almonds
i played this with my mom and she didn't answer a single one bc she didn't want to say a swift quote was a shakespeare quote and admit that taylor is actually a good lyricist 🤪
dmn thats kinda sad :/ why doesn’t she want to admit shes good? May you should ask her :). Sometimes people need to overcome the tragic things we are all taught as women growing up. I think one day she may even like taytay
Tradition has it that Shakespeare left his wife, Anne Hathaway, and his three children in the care of his parents at Stratford, and he journeyed on foot ninety miles to Londontown, center of the Enlgish Renaissance and home to her first theaters
The way I would ace this challenge not because I know Shakespeare but because my brain has been so brainwashed with Taylor Swift lyrics that I can recognize them in a heartbeat lol
the highlight of the video is jack adding singing shakespeare as if its from look what you made me do...like wow u need to feature on reputation (taylor's version)
Jack Edwards putting his English Degree to the test. We love to see it! P.S. Happy Birthday! I was dealing with my thesis and your channel helped me out. Since then, I love your channel and I’m a fan of ALL KINDS OF WORDPLAY that you make. I hope you have a great day and a great year ahead!
for someone who missed the evermore train, i am so intrigued to listen to ivy now. Wtf are those crazy deep lyrics, literally wouldve guessed shakespeare in any of those
Jack! Will you do a listening reaction to the “MIDNIGHTS” album? I would love to see your reaction to her song writing live on a first listen through! ❤🙏🏼
Hi! Just wanted to say being a swiftie myself, this video was a lot of fun to watch! Thank you! Also ur user name just reminded me of "Jack in the box", an album by J-HOPE of BTS, also suddenly I felt like you would've liked this album, since it has such an unique story to share in an unique way and since it's YOU.
I did the quiz before watching the video. I've only considered myself a Swiftie for 2.5 years and I had British literature classes at uni 5 years ago and I scored 100% at this. I think it's enough to know one or the other's work to be able to score 100% on this.
What a grand video SO FUNN. It would actually be really cool if you concluded with a clip of your food from the doordash delivery to give it that full story moment (altho ik this channel is really informal) either way love your videos king
Taylor didn't ask to be compared to William, swifties didn't ask for Taylor to be compared to William, William obviously didn't ask to be compared to Taylor (I mean, he's dead). This is a freaking Buzzfeed article for god's sake, cashing in on the clickability of both Taylor and Shakespeare. And people are just having fun with it since it already exists. The number of pressed people in the comments replying to everyone who dares show appreciation for Taylor and for daring to be named next to Shakespeare is funny and kind of sad ( because how sour can you be?)
I think this would work better for someone who doesn't listen to Taylor and doesn't really know (the lyrics to) less popular songs. I'm for sure going to make my fiancé take this test tonight! He listens along when I have Tay on sometimes but I'm pretty sure he won't know any of these lyrics so I'm super curious lol
I don't listen to Taylor that much, and haven't read a single Shakespear piece, but got most of them right. I think I'm a fan of them without knowing haha
