There is also a real village in the center of Warsaw. This place is called Jazdów. It is located near the Ujazdowski Castle and Łazienki Królewskie park.

Hi Nynke. It is worth visiting Chełm and The Chełm Chalk Tunnels (in Polish Chełmskie podziemia kredowe). Chełm is a city in the eastern Poland, close to Lublin and Zamość:)

I like the Wilson Square (Plac Wilsona) area, incidentally I spent many hours there just a few days ago. There's a good Thai restaurant over there, right by the bus stop direction city centre. ;) Speaking of the Warsaw Citadel, the construction of a new really huge Museum of Poland's History is nearing completion at that place, together with a brand new Polish Army Museum (it will move there this August from the buildings of the National Museum, where it has been renting space). Btw, I noticed that the end destination of your train was Olsztyn, the provincial capital of Warmia-Masuria. In addition to being a very nice & friendly city, IMHO Olsztyn has one the most appealing surrounding areas of the country's regional capitals, with lakes, forests and hills. I'd consider living there if I ever move away from Warsaw. ;)

About Wilson Square: "right" Warsaw pronouncation of name of president Wilson is Vilson.😉
@benwars9524
@benwars9524 Год назад
@@monikakacprzak4721 I remember an academic discussion about this pronunciation, it was inconclusive; but you're right, "Plats Vilsona" is the traditional pronunciation by Varsovians from yet the pre-war period.
@monikakacprzak4721
@monikakacprzak4721 Год назад
@@benwars9524 this pronuncation survived forty years, when Plac Wilsona was named "Plac Komuny Paryskiej". BTW: I was shocked, when I realized, that Wilson should be pronounced with English "W", not "V"😂. But ofc : Plac Wilsona should be pronounced "Plats Vilsona".

Hi Nynke, I am absolutley amazed this area exists. Yes outside Lonond centrum we have Dulwich village, Hampstead heath, Putney but they are a poor example in comparison to this a most outstanding area of Warsaw. What a Magic moment.🏡🏫🏠

I think I used to ship things to Hempstead Heath. Back in the '90s for my job. I had no idea where it was other than it's in England.

Your speaker said that "a priest was killed" showing you Św. St. Kostki church , but he didn't say by who, how, where and why, who is this "priest" for Poles now and he even didn't remember the date. Interesting, indeed. Ask him for details and where he was at that time.
@thewritingtraveler

He told me the whole story. I didn't film it all. If I would film everything he tells me my videos would be hours long 😁😁

Was it the famous priest who was murdered? I read the story about that. It was so dreadful. I don't know if it was the same priest. Then again I don't know how many priests they killed. And the book I was reading when we went up to 1986. I wish I had noticed that before I started. So it's still wasn't free from the communists. I wanted to see that happen in a book. But I can't find one like that. I probably can't find one in English. I don't know. I just read a historical novel about multiple generations of women from Odessa through Siberia back to Odessa and then New York. It was from 1931 to 2019. It was really good. Plus I didn't have to deal with any more about the Nazis. Of course I had to deal with the Communists. But I was getting really tired of the Nazis. A couple of decades ago I read a book by a man or dictated by a man who said he escaped the Katyn Forest Massacre. I'm so glad not to live between Germany and Russia! I get very upset when I hear some political people in my country say that it is a waste to help Ukraine. They have no idea. They are too busy being scared of people from Mexico and Central America. They have no clue about Russia apparently.

@@pamelajayeThis priest was Jerzy Popiełuszko. He was buried in this church and his funeral gathered from 5oo -1.000 thousands ppl. All area near church, all streets, nearby park and this Square (Wilson Square) were full of ppl.

a few years ago, a trash container was placed in Żoliborz next to the detached house of Poland's most famous comic book woman-artist, Szarlota Pawel, and her memorabilia, including handwritten drawings, were thrown into it. some of the things were saved thanks to random people. apparently her family wanted to get rid of these "trash" of her deceased mother/grandmother as soon as possible in order to quickly sell the house for several million zł. unfortunately, we are witnessing rising cultural barbarism in Poland.
