How can we petition for Karamo to have hour long segments with the guest because baby 15 min ain’t a lot. I need a whole HOUR of this 😩😩

There ain’t no way she called them boys light skinned… and idk if I’ve ever seen colorism so deeply rooted into someone’s soul

Even if she was not her daughter, she deserved to be respected as a human being.

I still wouldn't want her to be my mom. Baby you made it this far without her.

This lady was truly shocked this was her daughter! This proves how strong the mind is; when you tell a lie long enough, you actually start to believe it.

Oh my god!!!! This was so hard to watch how the daughter was disrespected because of her skin color, the colorism, and everything wow. I feel for her. I feel for the mother too after realizing what happened. Trauma is such a real thing. This was an intense episode.

I strongly believe she knew it was her daughter, but because the child was a product of rape she sent her away so she wouldn’t have to be reminded of the tragedy that occurred that night. I feel for the both of them I pray they get the help they need.

It’s crazy because she kept talking about her daughter being too dark but, her siblings aren’t that much lighter… I feel so sorry for the daughter.

This COLORISM issue has to be CANCELED in OUR COMMUNITY...its SICK!

The way the mom looked at her after hearing the results and said ”omg” was like she seen a ghost or for the first time she actually saw that girl. Its sad.. It all made sense after hearing the full story. She dissociated herself. And so many people in the comments don’t understand trauma and how it shows up and takes it as a joke is what’s even sadder.

If Karamo was South African he would've been Karabo which means "an answer", he heals people by giving them the answers they need, he supports them and shows them grace. Big ups to you Karamo!!

Hi, watching from The Netherlands. Im a social worker and work mainly with clients who have been through severe trauma. The mother dissociated herself from what happened to her at 16. She wasn't faking. The repetitive OMG's, the staring, that's the trauma box opening and flowing out. There is so much healing to be done here. Prayers for them. Hope after the show, they get the help thats needed to find a way to a connection.🙏

You can tell the mother is in shock; they have a lot to process as a family.

Mom’s eyes looked so haunted after she heard the result I could tell the moment the event of the trauma started to replay in her mind 🥺 It almost physically knocked her off balance the moment coming out of a dissociative shock this severe is another form of trauma in itself… there’s so much healing needed for the mom and the rest of them🥺😢

When the Mom said the Police told her "That can't be your baby, she's too dark' ... I've never rolled my eyes so hard in my life. smh

The pain she caused her daughter is crazy

This was a true psychological episode. The mother is in shock. She couldn’t process what was happening and finally she realized her trauma and remembered the cause of it. Recounting the story of the baby being taken away sounds like she wasn’t mentally stable and the woman that raised her daughter stepped in. The mom, being raped, had a mental breakdown Karamo sensed that. Unfortunately, her mind processed her daughter not being hers due to the violent way she was conceived.

The mother looks so shocked. She truly looks like she realizes how much she pain she cause her child!

Mama didn’t shed one tear. My heart goes out to the daughter💜

Dissociative amnesia is definitely a real mental health issue. I wish a professional psychiatrist had been on board to help transition the mom. And to prove or disprove the diagnosis in the first place. I see some people say she’s acting but I don’t feel like she is… And man the daughter has me crying buckets, you can just feel the pain. I pray healing over her 🥺

Postpartum depression on top of that type of SA trauma, getting pregnant by the person that violated you and being still a child herself I can't imagine. I feel so deeply hurt that the daughter had to go through all of this 😢

That mom knew the truth this whole time. She’s embarrassed and only embracing her to not seem evil but she is. She made it all about her in the end. What a piece of work she is. I see her for what she is. Her trauma made a monster out of her.

Its sickening to doubt your own child because she doesn't look how you wish. A DNA test back then would've eliminated years of hurt. That lady is so wrong

I think the mom is definitely suffering from this sort of trauma. The story she created was so real to her that she couldn't find the words to say something to this "biracial daughter" it was like she's been wanting a light skinned baby so long that she invented one. This is so sad and I hope this woman heals from the pain she's endured

The mom looked like me when I lost my brother. I couldn't process anything. All i could do was stare. Shock is something unexplainable. I can't stop crying. May God bless this family.

It's called disassociative amnesia and it's very real. It's also very scary to witness someone you love go through it and take it out on you. ❤

Gonna go out on a limb here for the mother. She GENUINELY seemed shocked, and we not gonna sit here and pretend like crazier things haven't happened before. We've seen the Lifetime movies. We've seen the media coverage. It happens.

Hats off to Karamo for this one! The mother had a mental block due to the trauma of her childhood experience, which caused her to reject her daughter. This is why her daughter never got the attention she craved and wanted because, to the mother, that was not her child.

I hope they can heal things, it seemed like all of those “oh my gods” from the mom was not only her remembering that trauma, but her realizing how she inflicted so much pain on her child, a big step in the right direction but she still has A LOT of work to do.

My heart broke when she stared at Karamo for a moment… she felt safe looking at him and even telling him what really happened once she remembered. Praying for this family.

It was wrong for the Mother to do this but if she really didn’t know or thought her daughter was someone the truth is out now. Her mother was raped and lost her mind and didn’t realize the baby girl she was looking for was right here. 😢😭😢😭

Thank you so much for doing this not only for the daughter, but the mother as well. She probably didn’t even know she needed the help she needed until her daughter brought her on the show. I’m so glad we have different ways to be able to talk about trauma, especially as black people. I pray for healing for everybody. They need it so bad. I hope counseling is in their future. 🤎🙏🏾

Faceing trauma, shocked and denied her child for years, and then it hit her about what happen to her at 16 a flashback, I though she was going to pass out. Kudos to you Karamo you recognize the sign of trauma right away and didn't allow the audience to pass judgment .

This entire segment was very emotional and I wasn't prepared for this. My prayers going up for this family to get therapy and grow closer together.

I think when the mother gave birth mentally, she was ready to love on that baby, but when the hospital gave her her baby back the “UGLY TRUTH” took over her mind so anything associated with the trauma was “UGLY” and she wanted no parts of it. I think if she had a dark skin 6 lb baby even if they would’ve brought her a light skin 9lb baby she would’ve disassociated herself from it. She had a whole mental block, she even contacted someone else telling them she was their mother. I don’t think that was an act. I think that was a mind blowing experience. I think they will heal together because the daughter although she was “unwanted” I think she can now have some answers that can help her heal as well and they can do it together. The mother wasn’t in denial after the results she instantly hugged her even tho she was reliving a traumatic time right before our eyes and the daughter received it with openness.❤️🙏🏾❤️

I thought the mom was really on that bull ESPECIALLY that speech in the camera. But we literally watched her go right into the very moment her daughter was conceived and that broke my heart for her. I thought this was colorism at first, but once they peeled the onion all the way back, it's clear this mother was telling the truth about the events the way she saw them. Her son has the same complexion as her daughter. And she clearly didn't deny him. I don't think this was colorism. She had blocked out the assault, and you can tell the mother realized the assault produced this baby girl, and she can not block the assault out any longer. I was so angry with the mother at first, but this particular story goes deeper than what we see at first glance. This is a sad, sad story.

This lady did not shed a tear even after seeing how much pain her daughter was in... she starts crying when she switched it up to her own "trauma". Her brother actually looked sad for her.

Honestly, Ive been through something similar with my mother to the point where my paternal grandma raised me. I am too dark for her and her immediate family. They freeze me out a lot. My brother gets treated like a king because he's lighter. When i was younger it hurt really bad but as ive grown...i realized what the issue is and i just stay away from them. Nobody deserves to be treated like that. There's no excuse. People know what they're doing , they just lack accountability.

Thank you Karamo for bringing light to trauma based events that can cause a person to disassociate themselves from people, places and things. I don’t think people understand how much the mother and daughter are both victims in this situation!

I cried a lot watching this. My mum got pregnant with me while she had a fling with my dad though she was engaged to be married to someone else. Her fiance found out, the marriage was called off. She couldn't stay with my dad because he was married. She wanted an abortion but didn't realize she was pregnant till she was over 4 months. Her period was still flowing normally. She was 20 years old, from a royal Yoruba family and pregnant for an Ibo doctor. An abomination in the 60's then. Having me ruined her chances of getting a good husband. She never did and she took all her frustrations out on me. My mum hated me with a passion and didn't hide it. She never accepted me as her daughter. I was a constant reminder of her failure in life. She couldn't finish school, had 6 kids from 5 different men and died 10 years ago lonely. My father was my anchor and took responsibility for raising me. It wasn't easy but we coped. I tried connecting with my mum after I finished from the University and got married. It was hell. I was everything she wanted to be and couldn't be because she stupidly had a fling with my dad and lost the love of her life. God has been good to me. I'm an elearning consultant, married with 3 lovely children who have all finished university now. It took me a while to get over my mother's rejection and her maltreatment and abuse. I did because I became a christian at a very young age. I struggled with unforgiveness for the pain her actions brought me for a long time. 3 years before she died, I sent her a letter, telling her I wanted to be close to her. I was tired of the friction between us. My children knew her and always wanted to go visiting with her. We made up but death took her away 3 years after then at the age of 69. I'm just grateful to the Lord for being there for me. My life would have been in pieces if not for God.

I know Undrea personally she is the kindest soul you could ever meet but, you know what they say about kind souls; because of all the hurt and trauma and unkindness she has went through has made her so sweet. The unlearning she is doing and has had to do has not been easy for her but I assure you Pinky baby it’s all gonna be okay, I’m so proud of you keep going your adopted cousin- Andrell❤

@karumo -I automatically wanted to get mad at the mom but her being raped and that girl being the product explained a lot. Explaining the process of trauma and making sure the audience understands is how you change things. I appreciate it! Karamo one thing I was waiting to hear was, "Where are the police reports? Where are the hospital records? Where's the private investigator notes? She's saying all this stuff about people who were saying she had the wrong baby, but no proof. The hospital isn't just gonna be like "Oops Sorry, here's your correct baby. Let me get this baby to the correct parents" and not report that.

This episode.gave me chills. I felt so sad for the daughters pain of rejection. It was so palpable. I just wanted to hug her. Mom was sounding so ridiculous with her colorism and denial. However it all came together and made sense as to why mom treated her that way. Unfaced trauma is REAL. Lots of prayers and treatment are in order. Another great show Karamo .
