Hello Renee, just wanted to say thanks for the daily posts. I live in Australia so your post are available to me when I finish work. Just what I need after a day working from home in the office. Much love to you ♥️
Hi Renee, I would love to see a video on how you clean things up & what they look like after. Especially the clothing. I usually throw things away when I get a stain. I need cleaning lessons!
They had a parakeet at some point, The spring bell, ladder and clear plastic cup are all accessories for a bird cage. Those “bomb like” items are very curious. I look forward to hearing more about them. Thanks for sharing these bags of history with us!
Other comments are correct. The " bombs" are WWII Japanese sub munitions. Cluster bombs. Look up that term. Leave them outside in safe place and call expert or authorities to have them checked to be sure they are inert. These could be very dangerous!!!! Also don't give them away after they are checked and deemed inert and safe. They are very valuable. $300. + each from what I saw online. Best to have military or weapons expert check them out.
Hi Renee. That wooden thing looks like the table part of a childs chair, if it was the back there would be 2 or more hole each side to connect it. To find the correct stopper put one in the bottle and give it a slight twist. With the correct one you should be able to lift the bottle by the stopper but remember to keep one hand underneath just in case.
I hope you checked the bottom of bag real close. I am sure the chipped piece of glass to that one vase is down there. It could be reglued. Great finds. The old electronics are worth something to certain collectors.
@@MimisTreasureCottage Same here. It served me well as a single mother to a son, with no support. I was always employed and made a good living for us and myself for over 40 years until I retired.
Those do look like trench art! I picked up a trench art lighter last year for a dollar. It was made to look like an artillery shell and it had the soldiers initials and the date 1918 engraved on it. That is my most favorite find estate selling. So glad you're saving these treasures from the dump!!
Great radios, happy you saved all that good stuff from the landfills 👏 The perfume bottles are awesome and very deco Glad they did not break Thanks for saving them!!!
The thing you thought might be a chair back was a little step stool like for at the sink, and the back would have been on the floor, then if they wanted to sit on the stool that thing flipped to be a little back for the stool.
Take some hot water and dish detergent to that crystal lamp and it will sparkle like a diamond. It looks like it's got a layer of kitchen grease on it now.
9:18 reminds me of the device that sat on the tv to turn the antenna before cable and satellite. You’d turn the knob the direction of the station you were trying to receive 🤔 and it turned the huge antenna on top of your roof.
Paula, I remember those days, as a lil kid. Turn a little to the left, now to the right a hair, Stop! That's it! Don't move It. I don't miss that at all!! Hee hee.
FOREVER AMBER that is one of my favorite books. But I loved everything by Kathleen Winsor!! Thanks for the MEMORY!! This was a great bag!! It's amazing how with just finding a bit here and there, you can start to put more and more of their lives together!!
Oh yes the small fancy lamps were sold in pairs for bedroom vanity around mid forties. My mother treasured hers that matched the vanity set which had multiple grooming items and containers on a mirrored tray.
I don’t want to burden you by saying this but somehow you always pop up with an interesting video just when I need it. We lost our youngest son a few months ago and going through this traumatic event is as bad as anyone has ever said it is. Today I found a set of his car keys that he and I had looked everywhere for. Why did I have to find them? I’ve just held them and cried until I felt sick. But I picked up my phone a few hours later and there you are. And yes, it’s therapeutic to watch videos-especially yours! Thank you for loading this up today!!
Melody Tumlin, I understand exactly what you're saying. I lost my youngest daughter a few months ago & I've since come across many things that I'd looked everywhere for. I don't know why these things happen, but they do. I've cried rivers of tears, then, am ok for awhile, then memories hit hard again. I hope you've got someone to talk to. That helps a lot. I'm very much alone & love coming here to watch Paper & Moose. She always brightens my day. Take care. I'm so sorry for the loss of your Son. 🙋💖🌹🌹
The clear hobnail lamp has holes to hook prisms around the top part. Prob had a glass globe type shade also. My grandmother had a pair of similar lamps on her dresser in the 60's.
Perhaps the school patch is for Boston Technical College? And I love the perfume bottles and stoppers - I’d even keep the broken one and just turn the chipped part to the back.
Have you seen your porch cat this year? The bags are so much fun to watch. Always look forward to seeing them. I watch my church on RU-vid and you popped up at the end. Thanks for helping us thru these days with such great videos. 💛💛
That was a really interesting bag for sure! LOL a mixed bag! You could write a book on these fine people by the time you’ve gone through all the trash. I loved their sense of humor!
Hi I go looking for stuff on the curb as well I figure it goes from basically from closet or from drawer to trash I have found some phenomenal items from antiques to jewelry to electronics, etc.
That bag was the BEST of ALL of them!!! The noise makers are VERY desireable! I honestly think you would have to pay a lot for those things at auction, I can't even believe they threw this stuff out!! Here in Indiana, trench art sells for A LOT too!! SOooo HAPPY for you!!!
The thing you said maybe a motor or trench art is a desk model of a WW2 torpedo. Most torpedoes had the propeller in the back but some had the propeller in the front. That was a great bag. People in my town are not allowed to leave things out for trash pickup except for what fits in their garbage. So, I will never be able to trash pick. Although, I have found some great stuff in garbage cans outside of garage and estate sales. I enjoy your RU-vid channel.
My dad was a TV man in the forties through the sixties, the brown boxes were added to sets that didn't have UHF and came only with VHF. This allowed you to get local UHF programing by adding one of these for about $10.00.....
Renee-The two metal objects look like military ordnance or munitions. Not knowing “what” exactly they are, I would definitely leave them alone and contact your local police department. They could be foreign war “souvenirs” that were brought home; happens every so often here where live grenades are found in homes, etc. Be careful. Best, Brian
That was fun! Love the perfume bottles...and Forever Amber is a really good book to read. I read it in late 60's...about 10th grade or so. If I remember correctly it was kind of racy for the era it was first published! 🙂..Keep us informed as to what the 2 pieces of war type items are. ....Thanks for sharing! 🙋♀️
Hiya Renee, I’m 🤤 over those perfume bottles & stoppers! The way to find out which stopper goes w/ which bottle is to put the stopper in, give a turn, then hold by the stopper (keep the bottle in your hand, don’t want any breakage). If the bottle doesn’t fall out, that’s the proper stopper. If you decide to sell them, even the broken one will sell if it has a stopper, just turn that side to the back & no one will know! Maybe the piece is in the bottom of the bag & it can be repaired w/ a little E6000? Loved the NYE noisemakers, but those bomb looking things creep me out- I’d try to find out if they were live, in the interim be very careful w/ them! This house is such a treasure trove, I’m happy you’re saving everything even tho some stuff is truly trash, the rest are gems youved saved from the landfills! Be well! Jet 🧡🎸🎶⚡️
Love that glass lamp. So happy you are saving these treasures from the dump. As far as that charming glass bottle- as long as it can be turned and you couldn’t see the break- I’d totally keep it👍
I believe the little screen is actually an old flyswatter. They used to look like that and they were folded in two. Also the shoes are golf shoes with the cleats removed. And I think forever Amber is a well-known soft core book from Way back.
The perfume bottle and the stoppers wonderful find. The papers very interesting staff too. Be careful with the unknown items, hope someone can identify those. I reached 500 subbies and will have a giveaway soon!
Nice glass bottle toppers and other great finds. I'm sure you'll come up with something good, as you always do. Very talented with your true stories of families no longer with us and your slide show video's ♥️
Some of those old speakers can be worth some money depending on condition. I'd definitely check it out a little bit before scrapping. Look for Jensen, western electric etc. Could be nothing special but some are quite collectable. Thanks for sharing!
Those perfume bottle toppers are gorgeous. I would take a piece of stained wood and drill a hole in it for the topper to sit, would be a great display piece! I love trash day!!!
This was a real interesting bag!!! I sell just the stoppers to perfume bottles all the time. Those were gorgeous! I keep being surprised at all the stuff they actually kept.
The bottle and stopped are drop dead georgous !!!!! They alone are worth going through this trash for !! It totally surprised me that these people threw away returned cashed checks. I certainly wouldn't this type of thing in my trash. Not even when/ if I closed a checking account. I would cross cut shred them !!!!! The lamps can be rewired if They don't work now and an antique shade added wow awesome find !!!!
Please let me know what flea market you sell out of my in laws live in pa and have found a great bunch of antiques, I am always looking for some great vintage things and would love to explore a new d fashioned flea market of old time things ty ! keep the videos coming they are awesome!!!
That was a fun bag to watch you go through - so many different and interesting items! Maybe you've mentioned this, but any chance for you to reach out to the homeowners (or clean-out crew) before they toss that stuff in the trash? I bet they would be happy to let you take stuff. They might also be able to provide stories behind the finds.
Renee, you can sell them stoppers on eBay. They can be worth $35 or more. I believe that second bottle might be a ink bottle. That lens can bring good money also. My niece Ashish said the cool things you find in the trash is awesome.
I am totally in love with the lamps and perfume bottles and stoppers. They will all look amazing when cleaned up! Hopefully there will be more parts and pieces to these in another bag Renee!!! I have a pair of lamps in the white hobnail they have tall hobnail chimney type globes on them, they were my grandparents and I think they are from the 40's!
I’m amazed how long it’s taking these folks to clean out that house☺️ Wonder if they noticed you picking up the bags and decided to clean out slow for you😉 Totally love you videos!
First, I love your videos and these very cool bags. That book "Forever Amber" was the naughty book to read in secret when my mom was a teenager. So somewhere between 1945 and 1950. Lol she wouldn't even let me read it when I was a teenager. And I would love to have that typing book. That was awesome.
Your longer hair softens your features. Beautiful. That ladder and some of the other plastic bits a are vintage caged bird toys. The clear plastic thing was a feeder or watered. That spring is a bird swing or perch. They must have owned a bird, most likely a parakeet
Gosh, that bag reminded me of the ones you see on cartoons where they keep pulling things out, on and on, impossibly large and ridiculous; like- a kitchen sink!!! 😳 🤯
What a great bag. While I don't live in a glass house, I have a house full of glass, so the perfume bottles and the lamp were my favorites. Those bomb things were also pretty cool.
As a collector of bottle glass stoppers. That was a pretty great find. It is hard to find the right stopper, than the bottle. Now that you know what to look for, It will not be too hard to spot it one day
Rene I think the spring with the bell is from a bird cage! At the beginning you pulled out a small white, plastic dish from a bird cage. I love the perfume bottles! TFS Hugs!
