Nice torture test! This instills a lot of confidence. Not that anyone wants to crash their drone, but it does instill confidence that it's not a fragile as one might think. Thanks for making this video. Very cool!
Great video with a variety tests, hand down. Last week I take off mine manually from the edge of a roof and it fell down and broke into pieces. Note that!
hope they add collision avoidance for low light because i crashed my mini 4 pro at dusk because sensors does not work if there is not 100% day, but im sure mini 6 will have night mode collision avoidance :D
I noticed that when you hit the tree, the drone (which I own) decided to expose it's belly for the impact. I believe you said you were in sports mode, so I believe the sensors where off... correct me if I'm wrong, actually they had to be off or the drone would've stopped or gone around.... but anyways, seems like it has a critical emergency response that is always ON... not sure... maybe all of it was just a coincident? Am I the only one who noticed that? I know there is no control manoeuvre to accomplish this, like making the drone look upwards the way it did the split second before the impact.
Lmao I just must be ridiculously unlucky, dropped mine from like 40 cm while unfolding it and the gimbal broke ($240 repair), a year later snagged a branch flying backwards fell from like 2m onto tall grass and apparently something in the center of the drone connecting the gimbal to the system broke as well is 4 propellers ($370 CAD repair)
I read that lifespan of dji is about 1-2 years, is this true? i dont understand on what part of the drone they thinking about... baterry, drone itself or somethings else.
It can survive much longer than that, batteries can be replaced if needed and there is alot of spare parts for repairs. I think you’re more likely to destroy it yourself than lose it over time
What I would like to see is how does it record now after those tests? That's were my problems happen. I've crashed 3 drones and each time they will fly but the camera is messed up on all 3 and not wrong filming anymore. Again they fly after crash but most the time the camera gimble is messed up and the vibrations make the filming bad and useless to .... don't crash it or you wouldn't be able to film because the gimble takes the biggest hit and that's why you fly it, to film. Let's see how it films now....
To answer your question, it still records fine. Probably because in sport mode it moves forward because of the speed, so it hit the upper part and not the camera.
Meanwhile, i crash it once after 6days of flying it short flights, falce straight on the top left lens and destroys it, aswell as the Compas. Bad Luck i Guess... Crashed the non pro multiple times without issue, 😢
Would it had succeeded not crashing that tree branch if you hadn't flown so fast to tree on the left? Your other tests seem to indicate it would pass. 😊
Hit a rlly tall tree in the dark, took 30 seconds falling through limbs, lands on top of an apartment building, then slides off and falls 2 1/2 stories onto concrete. Let’s just say mine broke.
