What he is saying is true. But to add to what he said, the university to masters / PHD route is an easy way to get a greencard in USA. You get F1 VISA for masters degree. Depending on the time period of your studies, you get a year (for MA PROGRAM) or two years(FOR MS PROGRAM) after your studies to stay in the USA to look for a job. The challenge is the Visa process to come to USA for your degree. But if you have God(only if yóu worship him, pray to Him). That is why as an international student when you get into the US, ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR SCHOOL CAREER CENTER and the international students bodies on campus (mostly free) to help you get a job before graduation and the in summer time to help build your resume (CV) in your first year. These institutions can help you in getting a job with companies that sponsor greencards for international students (HB 1 VISA). Good advice. Please don’t listen to those who will want u to overstay your visa. Start looking for schools to continue your education since you stated u did not graduate from Legon. Time is on your side. U may come across companies that will sponsor u because of your training & skills. If all fails, please please go back to Ghana & then go thru the proper channel. America is not going anywhere. It will be easy to come back with student’s visa or working visa (H-1). U are the architect of our own fortune. Listen to your inner voice. ❤✌🏿 Retired in Texas

In most states you will not have access to amenities like medical care, driving license or sometimes even renting an apartment. Be wise. As the guy said America is not heaven. U may disagree.
