I believe in miracles, where you from, you hot chocolate machine (get it? ok)... this hot chocolate machine costs a third of it's expensive rival but is it worth it and what else can it do? Hint: a lot! More individual gadget videos on this playlist • I tried Onion Goggles!...
You can find 100's of more fun food videos, recipe steps & ingredients, merch like books & t-shirts plus my own kitchen gadgets on my website barrylewis.net/ ... oh & If you'd like to support the channel, consider supporting our / mrbarrylewis
The hot chocolate making machine was from Aldi, I am unsure if it is available in other Countries but similar models will be available. It's essentially a glorified milk frother, but I think it's great and better value (there goes that brand deal!) than the bed and breakfast cocoa / other alternatives! Enjoy folks.

I actually think the original spinner on the axle should have stayed there - that was just the stirrer, but it's essentially the same part and did the job! I was super impressed with this machine and actually warmed up some more soup afterwards for lunch (not frother though!)... for more individual appliance kitchen gadget testing videos like this, check this playlist ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-olFYfhtScR4.html

Ive had one of these a few years, its great. Children really like nesquik milkshakes in them, never put ice cubes in, not sure thats a good idea. Always think would be nice if the heater was a little bit warmer but overall is a great device.

@@radfoo I would check with the manual. Usually it says if it can. I heard stories of people having unpleasant things in drinks after using a machine that wasn't meant to crush or break ice. Not sure how true that is, but better to be safe than sorry.

I got a velvetiser last year for Xmas. It's amazingly good. Not sure what you meant about subscribing for chocolate packet deliveries etc. You can get the hotel chocolate packets from the shops and some supermarkets for it (just their own super high quality choc) but it works with pretty much all of them. (Willy's hot chocolate mix from Waitrose is bomb) I wouldn't put ice in it (prob work) as I'm worried that'd damage the spinner. But you could just pour over ice like professionals do for cold drinks? Spout and handle make it super easy to pour, it's self clean is very useful and it just works. Plus it's by Dualit so it's prob going to last almost forever. You should try one, even as a one off test.

I would use the normal spinner and fill it up to max. Then I would add a small amount of milk with the frothier spinner and pour on top. If that makes sense. So I get a full cup and frothy top 😂

Came close to buying a cheaper one after my Velvetiser broke after many years but went for another on sale, because it makes coffee, matcha, tea, everything bloody else you can think of warm drink wise and it's beyond easy to clean which when you have many disabilities is a pro for sure. This looks canny for sure but without the non stick and the spout it'd be a nightmare for me personally, I'd end off burning myself trying to get the froth out and cleaning looks waaaay more complex with this.

From my understandings, as an at home barista, with my fancy espresso machine, the froth (if done right) brings the sweetness to the top. If you drink it slow, you get a little sweeter taste in each sip. Of course, the one in the kettle, is not a proper one. This is the one in the video. As an added note, the fats in the chocolate is what you most likely frothed.

I also use the frother spinner like you did without the spring (by design - I tried with both) as it’s slightly wider than the original spinner and thus gives a much smoother texture.

Barry, Put the machine away and make some Spanish hot cocoa. Use: 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup sugar, 7 tsp. corn starch, 1/2 cup water, 4 cups milk. In a saucepan mix the cocoa powder and sugar, dissolve the corn starch in the 1/2 cup water, mix it into your cocoa mix, gradually heating up and adding your 4 cups of milk, let it sit for 10 minutes. I have a Velvetiser, however I haven't tried it in the machine. I just like my Spanish chocolate, it's like melted pudding. I use less sugar, but that's just personal preference . I first had it in Madrid, and fell in love with this recipe. In your machine, try mint cocoa powder, it's really good, just another suggestion.

I know you probably won't ever see this message but It'd be really great if you could make it how I make it here in the US. 10 black tea bags, half a gallon of water(2 liter), 3/4 cup (150g) sugar. Boil the water and tea together, let sit for 5 or 10 min. Add sugar. Dilute with another 2 liters of cold water into a 1 gallon container. Server in a glass of ice. This is all we drink. We don't drink water, we don't drink soda.. my entire household drinks Ice Tea, not too sweet though. We actually have 2 gallons made at all times because we usually go through 1 a day.

Oh it's Aldi. I swore you said Audi and was confused why a luxury car brand was making hot chocolate makers. I kinda thought it was how Yamaha makes Bikes, Watercraft and pianos.

You haven’t made cocoa (half water and milk) in it. ‘Find most instant and non instant hot chocolate powered drinks too sweet so add half teaspoon of cocoa creamed with a little milk in mug at beginning. Froth up with whisk if feel like. You could make Vahlrona coffee and ice cream or cream milk shakes with actual raspberries or mashed strawberries and honey maybe or a little sugar over ice.

Ok I am going to close this video and forget I ever saw this...because if I don't 2 things will happen 1) I will buy one and consume way too much hot chocolate which has way too many calories, and 2) I will also use more electricity than normal 🤔

If I have to make hot chocolate with water I usually double up on the mix.

I never heard of a hot chocolate maker before. I put cocoa, sweetener and cream in a cup. Stir. Add hot water. Stir again. My husband uses the packages, but uses hot milk heated in the microwave.

I prefer water with a very thick hot chocolate (So a combination of real chocolate and powder) But with the instant stuff it is absolutely disgusting to me. bland, thin, 'orrible.

So.....if I warm chocolatemilk on the stove and buy a 2 pound frother it does the same? I must be getting old, this seems like such a not needed thing that you will not use and throw away within a year. Is the stove too much work, put it in the microwave and use the frother if you want that. I really dont get this thing.....

Because you put the ice cubes in if you hadn't put the ice cubes and it wouldn't have stuck to them the ice will cause the mix two stick together especially milkshake mix I have one that natural chocolate milkshake it's made with stevia and not sugar and trust me it will stick together come together when ice gets involved it's why using a blender is usually recommended if you're going to put ice in.

you should still get the 'Bed and breakfast coco' velvetiser to see if it is better. you knever know it might be way better. I suspect it might be as it is designed by the UK company Dualit.

No. A budget hot chocolate maker is saucepan. I have clue why people buy these silly machines. And hot chocolate is made with milk, not water and powdered milk. 😂

You find it Bland because milk as a very big depth that you're not used to you'd have to add a bit more cocoa powder to get more of that richness that you were enjoying usually it has to do with quantity to the amount of water sea water is not thick it's not it doesn't have any depth because it's just water it's thin so you need to add more cocoa to get that kind of dip that you get normally with milk take it from somebody who knows I like it both ways when you have a good cocoa powder that you can make I mean a really reach delicious Coco with very little additives and stuff in it but it's rich and delicious trust me it's about the quantity you put in to the quality of what you have in with it so if you're using water you need to add more cocoa powder and if you're using milk you can use a lot less.

The biggest insult you can be given is someone making your hot chocolate with water … My friends mother always used to do it & it upset me deeply … ( To be fair to her I think the instructions said to do it that way & she was a lovely lady )

If you add extra hot chocolate powder in the water it’s not bad. I find going by directions just water is too weak tasting. I find milk in the powder is too rich. The hot chocolate and water got too frothy because of the powder not the water.

Hot chocolate made with water or milk. My vote has been with milk if someone makes it with water i add milk or half and half. Just the water alone Nah. As far as this little machine it was a good demonstration but not into froth that much. Good video though.

Nope, you weren't frothing water. You were frothing milk you made by adding water to the dehydrated milk that was in the powder.

The usual thing though....loads bought by people who just want to sell it for profit. Just like the recent airfryer thing
