I tried a Circle of Colors puzzle for the FIRST TIME! (Rainbow Cake) 

You have to be proud of yourself. As I said in a post in one of your videos that I’m also new to puzzling (still hasn’t been a month yet!) and I’ve done 9 Circle of Colors. Rainbow Cake and Pizza are by FAR the hardest of all 18 puzzle in the series. This one took me 8 hours and Pizza took me almost 9 hours. Both with 0 breaks! These are the hardest because both puzzles have that large blue/green section that goes around the entire circle. All the other puzzles have distinct objects that you can separate and build independently. The reason these two puzzles took the longest is because, unfortunately, the only time I can puzzle regularly is after midnight with one dimly lit source of light. I tell you I could not tell the blues and greens apart! I can in your video though. The puzzle I solved in the fastest time (by far) was completed in a properly lit room during the day. My next two solves with be Circle of Colors Mushrooms and then Insects. In case anyone wonders. I’ve done Mandala, Ocean, Donuts, Candy, Pizza, Rainbow Cake, Astrology, Tropical and Dreams. I bought all 18 in my first month of puzzling 😅

Great to see a fresh start of a speed puzzling. the best part about having a bad time, it has a great potential for improvement. I've only done one circle of colour, and although I didn't time myself, it was harder than I thought. I'm sure if you did this one again, your time would be cut in half for sure.

I have done a lot of puzzles. I did Ravensburger's Poke Bowl (round) 3 times and did not improve much on my time. I opened this Rainbow Cake last night and I stopped timing myself after 3 hours. I went into it, having seen the competitions, having watched many youtubers speed puzzling with it, thinking it wouldn't be too difficult. I pulled the edge pieces and sorted the colours into 4 sections. I started in the middle, like you did, and flipped to the edge, and then back to the middle and while some pieces, you just knew where they went with ease, many of the pieces just seemed so chaotic to me - the whole thing was chaotic to me and when I finally finished, I thought, never doing this one again. But when I woke up this morning, I thought, I wonder if I went at it the wrong way, lol. Okay so I might try it again. Good for you for seeing it through. Hope you let us know if you improve on that particular puzzle!

Hey @Jigsaw Johnnie You're doing great! It takes a lot of practice and working on puzzles to get really fast. But you've already got a lot us puzzlers already beat. Some of us are just happy to puzzle at a slower rate. I'm one of those. 😊 I don't think I've ever done a puzzle in 1 day let alone 4 hours. I enjoy watching speed puzzlers though. I'd say you're well on the way to being a speed puzzler!! 🎉 ❤❤ 😊

These circle of colors puzzles are lovely but not as easy as they look. I've done six of these puzzles and only one has been just under two hours by two minutes. I don't regard myself as a speed puzzler so I don't expect to get any fantastic times doing these puzzles. I'm sure that with time and practise you will get faster times. I shall be on the lookout for your haul video. It always interesting to see what other puzzlers like doing.

I like watching your channel! I have been puzzling longer than you have but I am nowhere near Karen Puzzles or any of the other speed puzzlers. We all have to start somewhere! Right now, I am doing mostly 1000 piecers, but it can take me anywhere from a couple of days to a couple of weeks to finish, depending on the image. I don’t try to hurry, I just chill and listen to podcasts or RU-vid videos and I get done when I get done. Occasionally, I come across a puzzle that is really difficult, like the one I am doing now, and wowza, I feel like a complete beginner. You WILL get better and faster naturally as time goes by. 👍🏼

Hi Johnnie, thanks for great videos. I found you just after a big deception I phased by doing this puzzle because it was really really hard! Fortunately, I did it with my puzzle partner, so we enjoyed so much together. It took us 2h 2 min, and we loved the image. We will go to Spain for WJPC, we are beginners as well in Speedpuzzling, therfore your videos are matching ouf feelings about it. Thanks! Now you got a new follower

I timed myself for the first with this exact puzzle! so fun to see your journey, Im so impressed by ppl who tries speedpuzzling, my nerves desnt work under competition settings but it was still kinda fun to just time the experience. and I need breaks between puzzling sessions so I started and stopped the timer when my body needed a rest. final time 3:18:04! Are you on instagram too? great job on this round one. they do get easier when you are used to the piececuts!

I have been puzzling since my teens n i am 60 now......i enjoy my puzzling from now 1000 pc puzzles to 3000 pcs and getting bigger slowly.......but i dont time myself or speed puzzle as i want to enjoy it and not make it un enjoyable. You are going up agai st people who have been puzzling for years now and do competitions. Gove yourself time.......do gradients, etc and you will get better. Enjoy it though🎉

You're doing great, don't get discouraged! Circles look easy, but once you start it messes with your head.

I think the Rainbow Cake one looks like one of the hardest Circle of Colors. I've only done the Donuts one and while it was very fun, it also took me longer than I expected. So probably some getting used to!

Circle of colours are so deceiving. They are way harder then what they looked. Ive also just started speed puzzling. I tried London postcard, then circle of colours tropical. Circle of colours took me 30 minutes longer!! Keep up the good work you're really quick at flipping the pieces takes me like 10 minutes lol

My grandma used to put the big fantasy circle ones.
