They dont eat like that everyday. I think they mostly do it to prepare for a Comeback bc u can actually see some of them gaining a little bit of weight back after a comeback bc their diet isn't that strict anymore. Ofc this can vary from idol to idol and every entertainment handles dieting differently :)
It's really not that common though, especially recently. All the "idols fainting" compilations reuse the same 5 clips lmao. I think it was jyp? But just to give an example, they really prioritise the health of their trainees and they spend so much money to provide organic, healthy meals. They made a statement about it. He talked about feeling guilty that parents were entrusting their sons and daughters to them but some of them not eating properly, and some overworking themselves. So he wanted to change that.
@@fianamodi2751 "they" is way too broad, every company is different and so is every idol. I'm not saying no one goes through this, but it seems SO hard for a lot of people to believe that there ARE idols that care a lot about fitness and health and take good care of themselves. This "idols are manufactured, overworked machines that can't make decisions, so pitiful :(" narrative has really taken off since the west discovered kpop in the last couple of years to the point where every non-kpopper's first introduction to it is some article taking about the infamous "dark side of kpop". They're people too, most of them have family and friends and people to look out for them. I hate when people generalise. Sorry I'm really going off rn but I just read an article on the topic and I'm so frustrated. It's not an attack on you personally
A lot of young girls in Korea diet like this and it’s sad. Korea is experiencing the same thing that American celebrities in the 90s were promoting (so many of them had eating disorders)
@@Sarawarawara- it’s no where near being a lot, berries are quite small and in small amounts, eggs are also in small amounts, everything is in smaller proportions which is why it’s not that much
@@shreklovesmyedits2515 Even so as someone who gets full on just a cheese sandwich or a banana It seems like a lot of food to me even though It’s In smaller amounts
These diets are insane. As a kpop fan, I really hope kpop artists develop a healthy way of eating. I could barely imagine how stressful their work is, such an intense diet would only make things worse. They’re humans too and “fans” should not just judge them on how skinny they look
@@rosianateriitanoa7623 it's actually part fans, antis, standards and the company in total of what makes them to lose weight and if the company isn't that much strict then the idols take a part too in the decision of dieting (from a lot of cases I've seen)
Being a Korean myself I couldn't relate more. I've tried several diets from kpop idols and gave up on A LOT of them because they were all so fricking hard. Being a kpop idol is HELLA. HARD. You have to STARVE YOURSELF to keep yourself thin. When your diet is successful, knetizens praise you. When you carry the diet further, knetizens degrade you for being too thin. On top of that, you're not allowed to talk about your eating disorders because of knetizens. It's gotten a bit better now, but it is still hard. I applaud you for challenging yourself to diet like a kpop idol. Love you so much :)
Thanks, and thanks for sharing in your comment as well. I learnt a lot of the Kpop industry from Korean friends and I think most people outside of Korea don't realise how harsh the environment is over there. Glad to hear it's gotten better over the years but hopefully it keeps getting better.
These 'diets' are one way tickets to eating disorders. I'm glad BTS talk about what they've gone through with body image and dieting. Their stories, especially Jimin's, have helped me a lot. Cutting out food to lose weight is never the solution, it's short term and will only make you gain more weight faster when you go back to eating normally.
Rosé from blackpink eats a lot and she said she didnt refuse salty food everyday. This was confirmed by other blackpink members. They said she eats a lot.. and she exercise a lot as well. Boxing, weight training, pillates and never escape her aerobic exercise everyday. and she was blessed with genes as well. Her mum is skinny and slim according to her high school friend.. They just didnt gain weight easily..
She does not eat "a lot". She eats pretty healthy foods in normal quantities and exercises a lot. Gaining or losing weight is a matter of calories in/calories out and exercise, there's no magical gene that will keep you from gaining weight if you eat calorie heavy food regularly.
Some people are naturally thin though, for example my friend is like 6 inches taller than me, but 15 pounds lighter and she eats snacks all day (ice cream, cookies, doritos, etc)
Not enough information for me to explain, actually height alone adds to her daily calories limit by some! If i were 6inches taller my body would on it's own require ~100 more calories just to function. How active is she? Does she have muscle mass? How does she eat AT HOME as opposed to in social circles? Don't take me as a hater please, when i was really young I had the very same thoughts! I couldn't understand why my best friend, with same school schedule, same school heavy snacking and seemingly general lifestyle had a good 12Kg less than me! I just thought, well .. she has good metabolism and I'm just unlucky. As I got older and actually researched and tried my own weight loss paths I realized things that escaped my young eyes. Yes, she ate quite some snacks with me but when she went home she'd have her mother's home made healthy veggies breakfast/dinners. She also went out to exercise quite regularly by walking her dogs and had a 5km walk between bus and home to do twice a day to and from school. Unless a health condition is ongoing (hopefully not!) then your friend is simply just consuming more than she eats, either by eating little/healthy on the side or by being very active!
OMG FRICKEN SAME MY STEP SIS EATS SO MUCH CRAPPY FOOD (and also healthy, but she excessive sometimes badly tho) AND I LITTERLY TRYNA EAT ONLY 500 CALS AND IM STILL FAT
**DO NOT TRY THE KPOP DIET AS IT CAN BE DANGEROUS** Although I made changes to it, I can't stress enough that you shouldn't follow any diet blindly until you speak to a dietitian. I put together my plan as an experiment, for my body, and everyone's body is different. ❤❤❤❤❤ Also the workout i showed in this video was from this workout: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--q9oe-koIVs.html
Seriously I tried the IU one for 8 days and I literally lost about 3kg ( about 4-5 pounds??? ) I didn’t feel that exhausted and hungry but HOLY JESUS THE CRAVE TO EAT OR JUST MUNCH ON SOMETHING IS INSANEEEEEEEEEEEEE. And I even skipped breakfast because I always over slept my whole summer. Instead, I saved the apple for snacking in between lunch and dinner. That way you will feel less “dying” I guess ? Edit : Idk why I received so many likes for this but just a quick update cuz why not -> I didn’t gain much weight back ( about 0.3kg I think? ) but I suggest working out after this diet to gain some muscle and maintain your weight since you’ll lose muscles because of the diet
Now I understand why idols are so happy w/ the snack prizes they recieve in variety shows. I always thought why they're so ecstatic with those snacks when they can just buy them. THIS EXPLAINS IT.
생각해!!! 박 same :( but I promise I don’t flaunt it or make me seem better because I eat less... I just drink a shit ton of water so hunger isn’t always there. I’m trying to lose weight and I can’t even do step 1 properly 😔 a calorie deficit. But I’ll keep trying!!
When your mom offers you food and tells you to eat, she’s testing you to see if you’ll really eat all of it. That’s why she flips out when you do eat a lot lol.
There is a lot of vids out there trying these kpop “diets” I love how you put your twist on it and actually added your ideal healthier alternative option.
Jimin is so much healthier now. He doesn't care much about diet now. He has struggled the most with body image issues. I am happy that he doesn't care about "abs" anymore
This will be hard for me, because everytime I am on a diet that's when my mom feels like "cooking like a chef a five star michelin" Only stay will understand♡♡
Damn right !!! When I decide I am going on a diet my mom will start cooking my favorite food ... Honestly, I dunno if she is doing it on purpose or not ... So I decided to stop for 2 weeks but then I started again but without saying that I will be on a diet ... And shits she still cooked all of my favorite food The world does not want me to lose weight
Jeez ,with the quality of your videos and content you deserve like 5 million subs ,seriously ,what does youtube think and why are you not trending ?Seriously I am sad and mad at people ,because your vids are so proffecional
That's not a diet. That's anorexia and extremely dangerous. Which is why I have huge issues with people saying body goals every 15 seconds under any kpop video. Edit since y’all are being ridiculous: you do not eat like this voluntarily when you have any sort of non-disordered relationship with food. I’m quite literally anorexic and have been to treatment three times. Using clickbait and before and afters on an extremely dangerous diet is irresponsible and immoral as well as trivializing the literal traumatic experiences that idols go through on this kind of restriction. If you do not know what it’s like to live on that intake I don’t care what you think about it being non-disordered. You physically can’t have your brain function on that intake. The companies that coerce their idols into doing these things are literally putting them at risk of death. I suggest y’all look up the Minnesota Starvation Study. Inadequate intake is directly tied to disordered thoughts and behaviors even in previously healthy and stable people.
She did say she changed her diet to increase the amount itself. If you saw she had like 3 plates in one meal at some point. But it was mostly veg and white meat.
anorexia is a mental illness not a diet, what are u on about? stop calling everyone anorexic just because they're skinny, you can't assume these things, if they were anorexic and they wanted you to know they'd tell u
@@ritaki2758 u still can't assume or label someone with a mental illness without knowing for sure, if they wanted you to know about these things they'd tell you.
Chloe: *I don’t recommend this diet* Me: *no ones gonna sTOP ME* Tomorrow Also me: *nah my body’s fine, I don’t need those diets* edit: HEY GUYS! PLEASE SUBSCRIBE TO MY CHANNEL! THAANKS
I feel horrible for k-pop Idols. I recently saw a video of a girl who entered a trainding as a k-pop idol where they screamed at yelled at her when she did one thing wrong. They also celebrated being under weight. It was so sad to watch.
Im not a kpop fan but PLEASE send all the kpop stars to india....I wanna FEED THEM!! i feel sooo bad for all of them.....like I swear i will feed them a whole thali everyday!😭
Every diet video I watch: *i don't recommend this I'm just doing this for fun and I'm stupid* Me: *imma try it anywaysssss* My mother / family: *EATTT UR FOOD CHILD!*
I tried eating a bit less the past week and my parents were just like „WHY DONT YOU EAT ANYTHING“ 🤡 Before that, it was like I binged everything I could see 😔
I'm trying to loose weight and LOOK skinny before school starts so I'm trying to eat less and healthy So I'm going to try to drink water before eating so I will be too full to eat to much and also drink water after eating so I will be full for a long time And I will just drink water at times when I am in need of a snack 👍 (I know no one really cares but still)💜
Whenever I drink a lot of water without eating anything my stomach feels empty and then it feels hungry. If only I could just sleep all day, then I would not be soooooooooo hungry. 🤪

I’m gonna try the “diets” like you did. I don’t have the exact food they eat but I wanna be smaller than I am right now, in fact I’m on day 9 of the 2 week shred. I’m gonna try these but be EXTREMELY cautious and be careful and not starve myself. Like eat more fruits and vegetable and mixed berries and I’m going to try to be a better version of myself. It really sucks that they have to go through all of this just to be skinny though :(
Hiya! Just wanna let you know you do not need to be ‘skinny’. We’re all different and health is so much more important than physical appearance. I hope you’re doing okay now and have found a healthy alternative to this x
These Kpop stars are so irresponsible talking about their diets. They're essentially promoting starvation diets and then young girls who idolize them try the diets too. Thank goodness you modified it Chloe. These Kpop stars must be soooo depressed on these diets.
@@eViL1686 So true, which is really sad. I don't think they have much of a choice either. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I heard their company micromanages them, so I wouldn't be surprised if that included what they ate as well considering Kpop has such a strong visual aspect to it. Poor kids!
@@ChloeTing Yeah me too. From I've heard about the Kpop industry, I don't think they have much say in it. I have no idea how they have the energy to sing, dance, promote, while eating such little food.
I wasn't over feeding myself. That's just the amount I ate to feel full. I didn't want to restrict quantity since I was already restricting to clean eating.
Same... Meat is super filling- especially if it's for breakfast. But I'm also super short and petite. Not to mention I don't work out that much. It all just depends on your height and activity level.
Super64 When you are eating healthy it doesn’t fill you up!! I swear! You’ll get hungry really fast too because some of the healthy foods doesn’t have grease and all the extra fattening so when you’re eating like her best believe you are going to feel like you haven’t ate enough food.
People should remember that this is probably not what they eat in the long term. Normally they eat this for a week right before a comeback and many idols have mentioned that once they stop dieting they gain it all back, which shows that these diets are not efficient.
When I saw the title i got worried but I'm glad you did some changes because I used to do these too and I'm Happy you're a beautiful healthy role model😍😍
The food you eat everyday actually looks a lot, definitely looks like it'll fill you up for the day. Thanks for sharing your experience with us. Also love the way you edit your videos, thanks for the hard work you put in!
Thanks! yeah it was indeed a lot of food. But even with the larger amount of food I ate without restrictions to quantity, I did lose weight, most of it water weight.
Chloe Ting that’s great actually I love how you took the kpop diet but without so many restrictions coz they really are unhealthy. You eat a lot but really clean, all the veggies hahaha
I recovered from anorexia around 6 years ago, I used to eat 500 calories each day. I lost weight rapidly, in total 21 kg until I was extremely underweight. When I started recovering I started binging on everything I layed eyes on, my body was just out of control and I gained all the weight I had lost in about 1-2 months. A restrictive diet is NOT the key guys.. It will mess you up physically AND mentally and it will take a while for your metabolism to stabilize.
Don’t be ashamed of yourself ! Love yourself, but if your weight is a real struggle and you wanna lose it, you should try to drink more water, it helps a LOT
@@aimee2388 wow your pretty skinny for your age! make sure to be careful with restrictive diets hun :) You do not need to loose weight if you are intending to
I used to weight 55kg and my height is 5’2 or 158cm I’ve followed IU’s diet for a week and lost 4kg with that, after that I maintained my weight for about a week until I began my second diet, the military diet, during that I lost 4kg in a week, I decided to continue following it for the rest of the month and by the end of the month I had already lost 7kg, afterwards I did the 13 day danish diet and lost another 4 kg and I was down to 40kg, mind you I also exercised for three to four hours a day at least, including workouts, dancing and martial arts training along with stretching. I’ve been maintaining my weight of 40kg for almost a year however sometimes due to an eating disorder my weight drops to 37/39 kg sometimes so I have to lose some weight. However I wouldn’t recommend what I did because now I have an eating disorder and face near fatal fatigue every other week. Even though I’m happy with my body I still have to exercise to keep it like that along with take medicines for my health. I hope my story helped you!!
kpop diets are so scary to see in all honesty, the companies of these kpop idols are so strict about their weights, plus if the idol is actually pretty decently sized and healthy looking, the public will find ways to criticize them, yet if they are too skinny, more bashing will just come. It's such a sad and horrible mentality & response, my heart breaks whenever I see kpop idols suffer so much. I feel relieved when I saw you actually adding in more food, even tho it's just a short experiment >.< I wouldn't have the energy to workout without more kcals haha. Love you Chloe~ thank you for always putting out more informative content as always, you're so hardworking ;---; you deserve more love! Stay strong & well queen!
Thanks so much for your comment! Yeah it is hard to please everyone. When i was reading about their diet, I read that they got bashed for being too skinny as well. Damn, that's hard!
Roselyne Mack an example of a decent sized idol is probably Ailee and Hyolyn? They're the thick idols, but Ailee lost some weight in her thighs and then regained them after. Did she get criticized like that?
@@andreatran8176 i'm not exactly sure, but i've come across a few comments defending Ailee from antis about her size. I don't really suggest this, but there are a few videos that talk about this topic, you can search it up if you're *comfortable with it* >.< since it can be a sensitive topic
It's also scary seeing how many fans are so gullible. They say "it's their fast metabolism" or "they lost baby fat" when they're 22 years old, and believe idols when they say they're eating lots _like they don't know lying is a thing..._
Likewise but don’t worry, my mother always says to me that when you grow you gain more weight due to hormones. Gradually you’ll lose the weight until it’s all dropped so yeah just don’t worry as I’m in the same position as you TvT

I'm 12 and I'm 57kg, 5 foot one and it's extremely bad for my height I'm literally trying so hard to lose weight because my family has a history of diabetes and hypertension and I don't want to be unhealthy I literally feel like crying over my weight every day but now I'm motivated and better than crying I should work out. I've managed to pin point that the reason why I'm overweight is that I don't exercise enough so with the help of chloe I hope I can be more fit! Thank you so much chloe and all your kind followers for motivating me.
Wow, I never knew kpop diets were this extreme. That's really sad, and I feel sorry for them. Thanks for bringing light to this. I hope the entertainment industry's expectations of them change for the better.
Just to let the non Kpop fans know. They don't eat like this all the time (some do and some are forced by the company to do so. Example of healthy diet is what the Blackpink girls have), they only do this for a week or two (with cheat days) before comebacks. Other than that, they often eat HEAVY meals 2-3 times a day, snack a lot but of course they exercise a lot, dance, and still maintain.
gaining weight easily doesn't obligate you to do such harmful things to your body, and not only to your physical body but to your emotional health as well. yes i understand most people don't like gaining weight easily, myself included, but it doesnt mean that you have to feel so obligated to please others, while you're depleting yourself in the process. im just there are more healthier ways of losing weight, you know?
The beauty standarts are sooo different from other countries. Koreans say that a korean women should weight under 50kg. No matter how tall she is. Sooo....thats why idols "have to be" skinny. They will get so much hate and their korean "fans" don't support them anymore if they are not how they want them to be. Sad...
Weight management is one of an idol's commitment. And most of them have dance practice throughout the whole day. So if workout isn't sufficient for their weight loss, they'd have to move the weight loss process to their food. Sad but that's just how it is. Kpop artists needs to have that so called "perfect" body shape
Suanne Lim you can still sustain your weight if you base your calories on 1800-2000 calories per day. In other words you can eat normal and not gain weight. The idea is not to over eat🤦🏿♀️
4:55 oh my when she said that her waist was 25 inch. That made me feel so good bc mine is also 25 inch. But I always felt „not skinny“ and I really wanted to be like you god you don’t know how much of a self confidence boost that was 😊(Don’t worry though I’ve never done something like this diet or tried to starve myself I know that a lot of people who are self conscious of their weight do that but again plz don’t worry the furthest thing I’ve done is exercise)
I love chloe ting cuz eventhough she's promoting workouts but still she's not super strict about her diet.. like she still eats the food she likes. Cuz I'm like that as well. From sometimes, I like to eat some sweets and cravings. It's really so stressful and hard to eat really strict. It's not nice to deprive yourself too much as well. What's more important is to eat healthy and exercise regularly. Right now, I'm enjoying Chloe Ting's workouts. 🥰
I was looking for a really good opinion on kpop diets and yours fits perfectly, so I'm gonna try your diet for a modeling event that is coming next month :) thank you for your help!
Talking about your vacation reminds me of when I was in Japan for two weeks. We did NOT watch what we ate, and I still lost 10 lbs. from all the walking we did. Vacations in countries that rely on public transport/urban travel are so nice when you come from a rural area that requires driving everywhere.
I know this was posted a while ago but thank you so much Chloe, the fact that you emphasised the importance of consuming enough calories and nutrients to sustain your body and added food to the diets really pushed an important message that’s missing from a lot of these trends which is that these diets are not idealistic and not sustainable for the long term, especially if you are exercising. As a person who used to watch these “Kpop diet” videos to encourage myself to “push myself” and lose weight in a very unhealthy way, this really warmed my heart to see and I come back to this video when I need any reminders to take care of my body instead of punish it in order to remain healthy and strong. 🖤🖤 Thank you for encouraging people, especially women and young girls, to prioritise their well-being and to love their bodies.
To be honest all the food here looks really good and I wouldn’t mind eating this every day as Long as I don’t get sick of it.i think the food is enough to fill me but it’s probably just because I’m only 12 so I eat less.but seriously the food looks pretty good and decent
ironic i'm literally sitting on my couch and eating ice cream while watching this. Let's be honest, some of us just watch it and don't budge out of the bed as we binge watch netflix lmao
I’m planning to do the iu diet either during christmas holiday or summer 2019. but since i literally cant go a day without snacks, I’m planning to eat fruits like berries, apples etc.
