I understand keeping sentimental clothes. I have a sweater my brother bought me for Christmas when he first started working and had a little extra money to spend on family. He passed away 3 years ago, so I will always keep the sweater to hold onto him❤

If you have an extra drawer, put your tanktops in there, I used to hang all mine and then I realized, they go under stuff, so I moved them to a drawer and it's amazing and less messy

It’s not really a ‘hack’ but I took all my sentimental tshirts and made them into a quilt! I didn’t want to get rid of them, but I just didn’t wear them anymore

My favorite way of deciding which clothes to keep is to put all the hangers facing backward, and then after I wear something put it back facing forward. Then after a year or so get rid of anything still facing backwards. Definitely not a quick method but it works for me 😂

haha i really purge every 4 months or so, and then go back through in a month to check the "maybe i'll wear this" that i really don't end up wearing I do a lot of thrift store / facebook used clothes shopping, so get things on the cheap, too :)

A hack i used recently and LOVED was: i went to walmart, i went to the laundry hamper section, to my surprise i found "tie" hangers, a single hanger with many hooks on it....i now have all my tanks tops on one, belts on another, and the husbands ties on another!!! Such an awesome find for my ocd life!!

Me too! Mine is not technically a tie rack, but it's a solid bar with actual hooks that stick out on one side. It works perfectly!

Lady Daniels I love those tie racks too! I have two...one on my closet wall for belts and one on the wall over my drawers for jewelry e.g. necklaces, chains, bracelets etc. I've been using them for 10+ years and I'd be lost without them.

I make pillow backs from my sentimental T-shirt’s. Just a pretty fabric for the front and the sentimental graphic for the back. It always makes me extra comforted to see them.

Your declutter videos are 😍😍😍! The very best closet hack I've ever tried is the 'one in, one out' rule. If you buy one new item, then one unused, old, etc item goes to donation/trash! It works so well for me to keep my closet and drawers manageable.

Recommendation for sentimental pieces - patchwork pillowcases! I had a stack of graphic t-shirts from various events and memories that was getting out of hand, so I cut out the images into squares and sewed them together to make a pillow case. I love it because I actually get to reminisce more because I actually use the pillow case, rather than letting the shirts collect dust and take up space in my drawer.

Tanks on the pullout rod. Those stud seems perfect for it just a thought. U can still hang stuff like an outfit. On a hanger. Yesssss more vids!!!

For tanks, I like to use the scarf hangers, with multiple little hooks. I just hang a tank by both straps on each hook. They also come in black velvet!

I love it! I just recently did this with mine and my boyfriend's closet. It feels SO much better. Now I can easily pick an outfit when I'm in a hurry and I know what I have and where it is. It's wonderful! Also I think maybe getting some bins for your open shelf space would be nice, you can label them for your sweaters, shorts, leggings, etc. And put those things in the bins/ baskets and then it'll look a little more organized and you won't have to look at the items just there on the shelf

These vids are soooooo theraputic....i cannot fathom how hoarders and people who dont clean or care for their things go through life...i refuse to even watch that tv show Hoarders...it is beyond depressing and stressful...my boyfriends mom is a hoarder and very rarely cleans and is a smoker and to be polite i do go there on occasions and such but my OCD alarm is off the charts!!!...as soon as i get home i shower and launder my clothes....i just dont understand how people can live like that...but those people probably feel the same about us OCD people😌

Lisa Hartung. People who are extreme hoarders have a mental illness. It's not funny and most don't want to be like that. I do understand having to shower and wash your clothes if you visit a hoarder. I'm not OCD, but I like myself, pets, bf, and things clean.

I recently decluttered my closet, donated 7 garbage bags full, „donated“ 2 duffle bags to my friend and sold 2 garbage bags full. Feels so good to walk into my closet again and only see my favorite things there plus I have some extra money to spend.

I know i'm a little late to comment, but i'm going through videos for organization... But i just wanted to suggest using a belt hanger for your tank tops. It fits over 20 if you get a large one (2 or 3 shirts per hook) and they are easy to get to. i lived in the Caribbean for 30 years so i practically lived in tank tops. Hope this helps, even if it is a year late

You encouraged me to do a huge declutter! I got rid of a bag full of stuff from my bedroom closets, and organized everything to winter and to be washed piles, and summer to be washed piles lol ( It was a mess) and my linen closet is almost bare but it is nice and tidy now. The rest of my house however, needs a clean due to the mess I made from cleaning my mess! Day 2-to begin tomorrow.

Whenever I try to declutter, my fiance always says for every piece "oh, but you look great in that", or "oh but you will loose that little extra weight, you've only been dieting the last 6 months non stop with no visible results"... 😅 Sure, very efficient for my self-esteem... But not so much for my closet XD

Love love love this! We are currently working on moving into our first home and we have a pretty big master closet that has some seriously weird diy built-ins. So I've been really debating on how to organize our stuff with the terrible layout lol. Your video was inspiring though and I loved the purse idea. I've seen it before but I like the pot and pan holder better than a letter holder.

I use a flip flop organizer/hanger for my tank tops. You could also use that slide out rack for your tanks too.

Random but I find it fascinating how huge your closet is. I watch a lot of Canadian/American room tours and they always seem to have these big inbuilt closets. Here in the UK that's much more unusual. We have to cram free standing wardrobes into our bedrooms. 😓 Anyway I love these decluttering videos. :)

Love this video!! Maybe fold up your clothes that you like when you are pregnant or nursing in a tote and put it on the top shelf of your closet? Also maybe use the rack that comes up with the built in knobs to hang your tank tops? Just a couple extra ideas! Thank you for sharing!

for my tank tops i layer them over on the hook of the hanger, so it hangs down but doesn’t hang low. you do have to take the top ones off and on to get to the one you want to wear, but it’s real fast just hold them all together at the straps and and once you get the one you want, put the others over the hook again fast easy and neat. give it a try

Maybe adding an extra shelf in the sweatpants /hoodie section could help. Higher stacks tend to fall quicklier than smaller ones and you would have more sections to divide your clothes (that worked for me). Also, great idea the one of the pot lids rack.

I have a lot of tank tops too. I have those black hangers too. They make similar ones for tires and scarves. I have a few and hang the tank tops on there. I got mine at Bed, Bath & Beyond. I don't know if you have that in Canada, but hopefully you find something that'll work.

I declutter the closet on a regular basis, but one thing I learned the hard way: declutter the summer clothes in the summer or at the end, and the same with winter. Coming the season I was looking for specific things and then I remembered I had given that away on the opposite season( thinking I wouldn't use it). Lesson learned.

One of those hangers that has 4 bars (I think they are for men's pants) works great for the tank tops. I just throw them to the side when I'm folding clothes and pull out that one hanger and slide them all on.

Hi sweetie for the shower hooks you can use the plastic round one, you open it put the tank top then put it on the hanger then close the circle it will be more secure than the S shape ones ..

Love this video! But can I suggest ways to save even more space?( I just reorganised my wardrobe). Tank tops and tshirts shoudl go in a dawer, I find that hanging them stretches them out weird. I fold mine the Konmari way so they stand up and put them in a drawer. I used to hand my trousers in half like you, but I found they took up sooo much space, and my delicate tousers were a bit worse for wear. Now I hang them unfolded with my dresses using hangers with clips and they are so much happier! This has inspired me to sort out my handbags too! 😂😂😂 Anyways, love you and your videos ❤❤

I use a tie/ belt hanger for my tank tops. There are hooks on both sides of tha hanger and it is super easy to have all of them on.

Rachael, you are going to think this is strange, but I tried the shower curtain ring hack and I was too lazy for the circle-shaped hooks. I ended up finding a hanging belt or necklace organizer and I have my tanks and camis on it. I love this solution.

you probably wont see this and I'm not sure if anyone else suggested it but you should think about framing the t shirt you grandparts bought you that way it's safe, wont get messed up over time and you can display it/ see it more often :)

Not sure if it was mentioned but uf you have a lot of sentimental t shirts you could have a t-shirt quilt made. They take the design part and use it as the quilt squares. My mother had one made for me and my sister.

shoe purge... oh, my god, i hear you! i need a shoe purge... problem is, i love them all so much... also, I use a belt hanger for all my tank tops. It's so much easier than those hangers that are created specifically for hanging multiple tank tops.
