Thank you for joining me on this adventure to Shanghai Disneyland! If you're planning a trip, you'll wanna see my travel day video so you don't make some of the mistakes I did: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-aS1FGspvq8w.html
Hey Chris, thanks for this fantastic vlog. SHDL I the last Disney park to check off my bucket list. Serious question...How safe and comfortable do you feel entering SH, and China in general? I hear a lot of conflicting info regarding how foreigners feel when in the country with the new laws recentley implemented
if anyone was wondering about what flash was saying on the phone it's pretty cute! "wei (what you say in chinese when you pick up the phone, sort of like moshimoshi in japanese or yeoboseyo in korean)... hello... good, and you?... mm, that's great! ha, ha, ha, ha... see you later... *hangs up and looks at crowd* ...wrong number"
There are politicians in America that are openly hostile to Disney and Disney’s corporate goals. Why should Disney invest in Florida after the last five years?
Many must remember that Disney Corp. doesn't completely own most of the foreign parks, they are majority owned by the foreign entities which probably has something to do with investing into the park.
Shanghai Disney is always such a fascinating thing to peek into - very familiar but very different. Glad to have you providing such a comprehensive view of the experience.
I love how all of the staff there looked so happy and cheerful for the event! Better yet they had everything translated to English as well! They really thought this place through!
Tron being a walk-on is something that shocked me we will rarely/never have that at WDW. Amazing coverage of Zootopia, definitely showed how detailed it is and of course the snacks!
I recently found your channel and it’s become a comfort for me to watch you explore these theme parks. Your energy is so kind and positive ❤️ thank you for taking us with you on these tours and giving so much insight. I appreciate how thoroughly you show everything, and your food reviews are my absolute favorite!
At 19:58, there is a pillar of portable chargers that you can rent (at the middle of the screen near the bottom). Yes, I said rent, because you can return them into another machine you find of the same brand and you scan a code using your phone and the charger tracks the amount of time it is being used and after you return it you pay accordingly. This is unique to mainland China where there are portable chargers for rent at any mall or big shopping centre. In Zootopia, they made it in 3 different sizes , big, middle and small. The middle sized ones are the real ones and the big and small ones are for decorations. It is really fun how imagineers stayed true to the movie with the theme and then fit it into the Chinese life style. “Authentically Disney, distinctively Chinese.” ---Bob Iger (2011) PS: At 25:58 Flash is saying “wrong number” (indicating the person that called called the wrong number) which is why everyone was laughing.
I am in love with the fact that some of the shows here have puppet animatronics, I haven’t seen Disney do something like that (or at least very often) and I love it!
Great video! It seems like the Asian parks are really upping their game. I always appreciate the details and catching the little details. Don’t know when I’ll get back to HKDL and SHDL but if I watch too many of your videos it will surely be sooner than later.
Thanks for the hard work! The Zootopia area looks awesomely themed! Just in case anyone was wondering, the phone call to Flash in the window was a wrong number. Ha…..ha…….ha……..
It could be as someone mentioned above because they are in partnership with local themepark organizations with additional funding, while the US and Paris are all Disney funded.
thank you SO MUCH for this video. it's so long and you record EVERYTHING! i'm basically living precariously through you because i want to go to shanghai disney SO BAD... i'm a huge pirates fan and am so sad that their version of the pirates ride isn't anywhere else! it's easily the best. and now they have zootopia!!! i want to go so!! bad!!! i live in california so i've been the original Disneyland several times, which i'm thankful for, but the sucky thing is it's small and rarely gets new attractions like the newer parks. i haven't even been to disney world which has Tron and lots of attractions from the newer movies. i hope i can visit the other parks someday!
Man, i really appreciate your content, and the 2 Zootopia videos you've put out so far have to be my favorites yet! Thank you for taking us on a tour of not only Zootopia Land, but Shanghai Disneyland in general, and i look forward to your other videos! And as i said in a previous video, you really rock in that Judy Hopps outfit.
Your videos always make me want to go overseas again! I don't know a lot about the Shanghai park (well, Shanghai in general too) but I'd love to visit after seeing this (especially Pirates)! Can't wait to see your video on Universal Beijing too!!
Thank you for visiting Shanghai Disney. As a frequent visitor at both HKDL and SHDL, I personally prefer SHDL for the better vide there although I admit that the language could be a barrier for foreigners
hi Chris love zootopia is a great addition I also love the version of pirates there is very different from the other parks and as to Tokyo disneyland all the merch is so cute 🦁
this video made me super nostalgic because i lived in shanghai pre covid times. and i was able to go to shanghai disney before it opened to test the rides and the whole park. so seeing how its grown is really nostagic for me :)
Crossing my fingers I can go see all three Disney parks in one trip on my future honeymoon. ❤ Japan is my primary visit but mystic manor convinced my partner to go to HKDL as well for one or two days. Safe travels Chris!
First time viewer but this is an amazing vlog! I watch ordinary adventure & they brought me to your video! Can’t wait to see your japan vlogs since we are going this fall!❤
I would absolutely go to Shanghai just for Pirates. ♥ I think the Zootopia is my favorite land and I haven't even been there yet. lol I definitely love Zootopia and New Orleans Square. I am so happy you shared this with us! The puppet shows are awesome. : )
honestly I cannot wait to experience this land, just the attention to detail alone is amazing! :D so many pictures to be taken, and so much to experience. one day I will be there! thank you for sharing everything with all of us :D wow! that pawsicle alone is soo cool :D honestly I agree that is perfect to have Judy there, what a masterpiece! that snowie display is adorable
Hi Chris sadly I'll never be able to go on hoilday as my government is making it so I lose any benefits I get if I go on hoilday I just want to thank you for making amazing videos so I'm not missing out on seeing what's going on sending lots of love ❤
I just love how happy everyone was there. Reminded me of disney when I first went ohh about27 yrs ago. The American staff at disney were so welcoming first and only time they bothered to turn the frown upside down. Kinda sad to think about
Tribal Table seems astronomically priced for a quick service, especially for Shanghai. I can't believe a rice bowl is $30. The Japanese parks seem so much cheaper even if the yen wasn't so weak.
So glad you're posting these. Shanghai Disneyland looks fantastic but I'm way too nervous of the political climate to go, same with Hong Kong Disneyland.
Some aloofness may be due to a lack of confidence in English and hesitance to communicate with foreign friends, but deep down, they warmly welcome everyone to travel here.❤❤❤❤❤
Thanks you so much for the tour this is awesome :) Mickey' storybook adventure also looks amazing (ive never seen the hong kong one either), thought it was interesting which songs they chose to do in english vs Chinese.
22:23 FYI they are lemmings not hamsters, I would not have known either but one of my grandsons corrected me😅😂 24:09 Flash is my favorite, ha ha ha…😂 32:33 in this picture where The Big Donut is, is that Flash hanging off a can? from Ohio
okay getting one of those paw-psicles really sells the experience for me and i loved your meter maid outfit too it's so cute!. wished they added the different biomes of the city not just on the attraction. not a fan of the jail on the queue though, i don't remember them showing a jail in the movie. perhaps they got ideas from the original script
I was curious and looked up the menu at Tribal Table because the prices you listed for your two dishes seem outrages for a quick service place. So anyway, you listed the beef dish as 320 RMB, and the menu says it's 118. You listed the chicken as 180 RMB and the menu says that one is 98. Who is correct here?
Oh wow. You’re not kidding. I just looked up the weather for next few days. Brrr. Good luck. I had no idea Shanghai got that cold. When I looked up weather I found out there are 5 Shanghais in the United States. They’re probably cold too this week.
Why does Disney put more effort into their Shanghai parks and other foreign parks while the ones in the states are mouldering away? I finally got to go back to Disney World last year (2023) for the first time since 2014 and I was honestly shocked by the steep decline in quality of service and experience. I went to Disney in 2009 and 2005 as well and both of those trips were far and beyond amazing and the difference between early 2000's Disney and modern Disney at American parks is staggering. Everything just feels tired and worn out and overall there's not a lot going on. Very dissapointing, especially for the staggering price they make you pay now when so many things used to be complimentary services or just overall a lot cheaper. Disney World desperately needs this kind of new stuff at Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Animal Kingdom. If they rolled out new stuff at a better pace it might actually justify the price of the tickets. Overall, there's a very good reason why Disney is beginning to lose so much if their market share to competition like Univeral, who are opening up an entire new park next year.
How many days do you recommend to see Disney? Do you think that in one day you can see the exclusive things of Shanghai and another one everything else? Is it worth just one? Are two too few?
