Offense eclipsed is one of my favorites just because the dogs and baboon hawks always get into a fight and when that happens usually a hawk will die and repeatedly get trampled making noise letting you do whatever you want without worry
-coilheads are trapped by doors for a moment, they eventually break out so its good to use if youre the only one and need to look away to get out. -if a snare flea gets you, it makes you drop all your items. so if you had a shovel, you can try to pick it back up and just swinging it knocks them off your head
I lowkey fixated on the door being behind me despite my “grab” prompt coming up 😂 would have taken way less damage if I just grabbed the shovel instead lol
if this happened during my actual ironman run on like a later stage moon then I’d probably be a bit upset, but since this was a practice run it was just kinda funny 😂
Technically it shouldnt happen. Landmines arent supposed to blow up when you step on them, but when you step off of them. Theyre just still bugged to sometimes blow up instantly when yoy step on them, otherwise you should be able to exit back out the door in that siuation.
you blow up upon entry because of how you spawn into the interior, your character model basically gets transported down into the map an that transportation can make you crossover the landmine would be cool if it didn’t happen but it’s also funny when it does! got a good laugh out of this one still 😂
Shovel tips i found out after messing around a lot: -Snarefleas are a lot easier to hit while crouching -For Spiders walk backwards and when they come to close tap sprint (is more of a feeling thing than anything) -Hoarding bugs can be killed damageless if they are not enraged by spamming left click after the first hit -Brackens are intimidating, but very weak to strafing in a 45-90° angle -For Thumpers after the first hit, stay still while "charging" the shovel and walk backwards while swinging -For Nutcrackers, get in front of them without them seeing you, crouch and spam leftclick -For Mask walk backwards and sprint when they sprint. Have a mostly empty Inventory or they will get you (i drop all but shovel) -Dogs can either be cheesed by closing ship doors or letting them charge into a wall and constanly make noise so they perma charge -Good Luck with Baboon Hawks, but when you kill one the other ones get scared (at least for some time) I recommend to try some of these thing with the GameMaster or any other enemy spawn mod (especially Brackens and Baboon Hawks). It helped me a lot to try to kill them with Godmode and then without. Love the content and good luck with your Iron Man run
you could do a wiki trivia with your friends, not only to train yourself on spawn rates, power levels, and min item spawns, but for a fun video. either a questionnaire, kahoot, or jeopardy would work really well
I already have a Lethal Company Jeopardy ready to go, just working on scheduling my friends to actually play it :) I’m a big fan of Chimpact’s Pokemon Jeopardy and as soon as I became enough of a Lethal Company nerd to come up with some good questions I started cooking 👀
This video encapsulates why I find myself attracted to 21 Offense so much. It’s dangerous as hell, demanding absolute faith in your head and your shovel, but damn if that loot doesn’t taste sweeter when it’s pried from the jaws of a dead thumper or bunker spider.
Challenge Idea: The Helpless Solo Ironman So basically, its a Solo Eclipsed Ironman challenge, but with a twist - no stun grenades, bottled flashes, shovels, zap guns, stop signs, or even yield signs. So basically, no self-defense is allowed. Let's see just how much you've improved in the past few weeks. Also, wanted to express my appreciation for your content; keep up the excellent work and that spectacular upload schedule!
iron man but you can only buy planets (so no store) all eclipsed you need to do this 2 times in a row with out dying once you have to get at least 4 Pices of loot on each planet so no skipping planets more planets: orion, Aquatis, kast, (kast is now 700 cus 1k is too much) and atlas_abyss and inside monsters can go outside
I wish weather did actually affect the loot spawns so you have a reason to select those moons. As it is, the only reason to pick a moon with weather is if there's somehow *no* options without bad weather or you're on a paid planet and don't want to leave and waste the money.
Same, thankfully the great mod support this game has allows it. A couple mods I’ve tried out have the functionality, and you can even set the modifiers yourself in the config file. Would be great if modifiers were added to vanilla (or at the VERY least have bad weather force loot pools more towards their max table).
I've only just started the video, but closing doors on coilheads is still worth it almost 100% of the time if you can. They can open them, but it takes long enough that you can run for a while without worrying about looking behind you. Since you never know what other monsters will get in your way, the more doors closed between you and the coilhead, the better.
hey! yeah coilheads can open doors! the door will also open faster if there are multiple, ideally in the situation you had where you killed the thumper while the coilhead was trapped you would want to go back to where you trapped it and open and close the door to reset their progress opening it, also keep in mind when you have a coilhead trapped you can use the time to escape their aggro range! and in case you didnt know sand fleas can also open doors! love the videos, ty sm for the frequent content! ❤❤❤
oo I like the idea of resetting the door timer, absolutely keeping that one in mind! thank you for your insight, I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos! 🫡
youve asked about it before on other videos but i really love the longer format personally, i've been working along or falling asleep to them for the past several days/nights and then i wake up and rewatch what i missed
I also prefer making the longer format videos, so I’m glad it’s what people are vibing with! I would do the same with other people’s longer format videos so it’s cool being on the other side nowadays :)
1:07:19 No webcam and yet I can perfectly see your expression right here lmao. That long pause said everything. Sadly that "...are you serious?" moment is all too common with this game.
i've been loving these challenge run videos, it's crazy because i didnt think the game could get this hard, especially within a few months of it releasing
Please keep up the good work man, love the videos and their great to have in the background while I work sometimes. Learning a lot from every one of your runs, and you're absolutely killing it.
Giants on Offense are funny as hell. The Only time I ever got one I tried to bait it away bringing back loot when my teammate thought I was dead because they heard me say giant and left me behind on pipe without checking monitor.. Think it was before the spotting nerf though, I could hardly lose him if I recall so I had to run back and forth trying to bait him near fire. Seems like it'd be a very brutal map for them, unless you can just get someone on the pipe to keep them occupied next to fire exit.
Have you thought about not killing the lower power level enemies like the snare fleas? When you kill them, it frees up power level for other possibly more dangerous enemies to spawn.
yeah and that’s usually why I don’t kill spiders since they take up 3 whole power levels just to chill in a corner somewhere I was killing everything on this run though for practice
25:10 something I've noticed is if you look forward instead of down, you actually drop items further out from yourself, useful for them not getting caught on stuff.
the best part about seeing someone play the same moon over and over is getting to see them encounter the rare events like giant spawns on offense because with a 4% chance most players who play a variety of moons and only play casually don't really see that and wouldn't be prepared for it
Lots of successful pipe jumps! :D Man you really got unlucky with those giant spawns lol (and the fire exit landmine omg), but it was a good chance to practice the worst case scenario, I guess 🤭
i do think its pretty Bs how fast coil heads open doors, in my oppinion they are the most annoying enemy in the game, i think a weeping angel enemy worked on a game like Containemtn breach because doors could stall it for a reasonable amount of time good video anyway! i love your stuff.
One time me and a friend got caught in front of Offense main entrance between a giant outside and a coilhead inside, it was intense, we eventually just decided to book it past the giant and somehow we both lived.
unrelated but im curious, as someone who plays the game a lot, do you think 4 inv slots is the right number? i havent played that much and usually play w mods where i changed it to 5 cuz i feel like 4 is so little, but ig it might just be cuz im inexperianced and dont know how to use them properly, so i wonder what someone more experianced would think
I think 4 inventory slots is fine! I also used to play with 5-6 slots back when mods were new and it was nice while I was still new to the game but after a while I just felt way too strong having that/those extra slot(s) I think the real “right number” though is whatever helps someone enjoy the game better! that’s why there are tens of thousands of mods available for the game, both for increasing and decreasing the difficulty and quality of life for your playing experience. Only reason I play mostly without mods is because I want to show people what’s possible in a mostly vanilla playthrough, but I was an avid mod enjoyer prior to gaining a following on youtube
To clarify, coil heads can always open doors. But it takes them around 17 seconds to do so. However, similar to gestures, they cannot open pressure doors controlled by the terminal. But, and corridors, there's off and a way around pressure doors, and they will find it
do you play with max brightness? no hate just noticed a slight change in this video and wondered if it did really make a difference and if you think it makes the game easier?
No I upped the gamma in post to make things easier to see in the video! A lot of people like playing with max brightness since you can see better without a flashlight, which does make the game easier
Just a quick tip: if you look forward and diagonally upwards you drop your items farther then when looking down so you don't need to get so close to the edge on the pipe
39:02 wow it literally crawled out of the ground like a forest giant i was wondering how the other outdoor entities spawned. do dogs come out of the ground as well?
For the offense jump, try running quickly to on top of the ship via the latter and jumping from there, as long as you don’t waste any time you should almost always make it, it’s easier than the rail
nah it wasn’t a mixup with the security doors, I’ve seen in older Lethal Company guides that you could lock coilheads behind unlocked doors in solo play and every coilhead interaction I’ve had up until this run was consistent with that, so I had no reason to question it until now Never used the security door strats because I’ve never played with a group that actually uses the terminal 😂
I’m convinced the thumper at around 1:13:00 was bugged and he couldn’t be interacted with. That’s why he didn’t attack and didn’t register a single hit.
A challenge that I enjoy doing: The Iron Quota You must play the moons in sequential order, but you must also stay on each moon for a full quota before moving to the next. Experimentation x3, Company, Assurance x3, Company, etc. You are only allowed to buy things from the store while at the company building between quotas (unless you're using the pod as a distraction & not retrieving the items). Finally, an additional goal is to complete the bestiary by scanning all 17 scannable enemies (excluding mimic/girl). If you happen to beat this, you can continue into an NG+ kinda mentality and loop back to Experimentation to see how long you can keep it going. In retrospect, the Iron Quota is on par, albeit a bit easier than Iron Man since you're not rushed to have 550 by the first quota in order to afford Rend. However, it makes up for it by forcing you to survive for 8 quotas. Hardcore Iron Quota is something I would place above Hardcore Iron man b/c at that point, you'll have to survive 24 Eclipses in a row to win vs just 8 with Iron Man.
I do this in my Nuzlocke challenge! or at least try to, lol. The difference being I’m required to bring whatever store item that I rolled with me I actually think the Iron Quota/Nuzlocke is easier than the Ironman because of how much time you have to accumulate loot between moons. That applies to the hardcore variants too, as I’m learning that eclipses aren’t as dangerous as I originally thought. But it does take more time and patience because of how many more days you have to play in order to complete the challenge, and a slip up in these runs hurts more because of how much time was invested into it compared to an Ironman I made it to Titan on my first real go on the Nuzlocke and died on the last day. Which was basically 3+ hours down the drain lol (video coming eventually) I will likely start doing these Iron Quota/Nuzlocke runs once I’ve done all the Ironman ones though! Because they’re fun in a different way and I’ve enjoyed the attempts I’ve done so far. Just have a different plan for how I present them on video which is why I’m doing these runs first
@@sheffaustin Oh no doubt that it is easier given the fact that, like you said, there's much more time to accrue loot. Iron man's difficulty comes from having to gather a bunch of loot out of the gate and maximize efficiency while Iron Quota's comes from the required endurance. Iron quota does ramp up in difficulty fast if you try to continue it into the NG+ territory. Trying to meet a 2k+ quota while being limited to Experimentation + your remaining loot from the final ~1700ish quota. (Haven't been able to do that yet). I'm nowhere near the skill level required to do hardcore yet. Doing Iron Quota is forcing me to become slightly more comfortable with Eclipses though. My first run (which was done yesterday) ended up with 6 Eclipses throughout, and I dislike Rend Eclipsed. Completed my second run about an hour ago and managed land an eclipse on all 3 T3's which the jetpack made more manageable. Given that I haven't tried hardcore on either IM/IQ, I can't say for certain how their difficulties compare to eachother. IM is harder than IQ, but I assumed that the HIQ's 24 Eclipse streak would cause it to become harder than a HIM. If you don't mind me asking though, how do you treat death in an Iron man/quota run? If you die, but are still able to meet the quota in the remaining days, do you allow yourself to save the run, or does death just equal game over? I assume that in hardcore it's 1 life only, but what about normal? Also, could you elaborate a bit more on the whole required to bring item thing?
Offense and Dine are my least favorite maps. I rarely die on most maps, but I feel like I die half the time on Offense. Dine is also just awful on flooded, and it's turret hell.
Idk if anyone else commented this but thumpers are ankle biters so you can avoid all damage by standing on railings or something of similar height and just kill them like that.
Quick tip to counter thumper! (Or so I’ve heard / seen) when you see them, get on a railing!! They’re ankle bitters and can’t get you but you can get them!!
I did an eclisped only iron man with my friends and offense was the worst planet. Out of 5 hours the challange took us, we spent 3 on offense to get a decent run
Heres a tip for hording bugs, justxgive them a key and they will straight up lead you to there nest, so you can wait until your gonna leave so u can kill them and take the loot they collected
Im afraid of the spider coilhead combo after me and my friend locked the coilhead behind a door a spider then hit us both all i heard was him scream then 2 explosions and a dead spider. I totally survived that round
Pretty sure that eclipsed actually increases total power level which is why it is also bad for the inside Edit: One more thing if you get an extension ladder on the pipe you can drop directly onto the ship also if you are allowing this if you place the ladder right you can drop stuff ontop of the ship and then by jumping on the cupboard you can pick stuff up from in the ship :)
eclipse only affects outdoor spawns, in that they can soawn off rip rather than at ~3pm onward. the max indoor and outdoor power levels are unaffected, though I wouldn’t mind if they were (can change this with mods). I would absolutely allow that ship + ladder strat though, so thanks for the tip! 🫡
I know that this won’t come in handy during your challenge, but can you stun forest giants with the flash function of the radar booster if they are eating a player that’s holding it?
A Pokemon like nuzlocke could be interesting if you die with items you cant ever get that item anymore and you cant collect more than one type of item until sold to company and if you die on a moon without items you cant go to that moon again
That landmine was bullshit, I would have promptly rage quit (if I was solo, because rage quitting in multiplayer is cringe). You have more patience than I do.
it was early Lethal Company advice that coilheads wouldn’t open regular unlocked doors in solo, and my solo playthroughs up until this point were consistent with that! The source absolutely meant regular doors and not security ones
sometimes the fire exit is less dangerous than the main entrance, either because of the enemies inside the facility or the ones outside. For Offense and especially during an eclipse, the fire exit is super safe since none of the outdoor monsters can get you. You can also check fire exits if you’re not finding enough loot by the main entrance. Sometimes a look at the interior from a different perspective can be super helpful. I hope you enjoy the game! Being a new player is a fun time :)
