Hi. I saw this in Decathlon, and couldn’t believe it could work. Thank you very much for proving that and testing it out. I had a great laugh. As a windsurfing center owner I can’t stress enough how important it is for the beginners to have a good first contact with the sport. Therefore, it’s always better to go on a lesson with a proper equipment. Cheers.

This needs to go viral! The last thing this sport needs is have a beginner having their first experience in windsurf be on one of these POS’s

Thanks for testing this rigg. I also saw the offer of it at some commercial links during surfing in the Internet. But couldnt imagine that i works for a windsurfer very well. And as we see, it didnt work 😂😂😂. Decathlon additionally offers a hydro foil where Front wing and back wing are connected as a framed wing. Also interesting to see how this works, if you need another test object, please test this. Could be funny to see how it works. Great content 👍frohe ostern🐣

Thanks for trying, I suggest you run a test of the JP magic air inflatable. Decathlon has even another product for adults which is Windsurf-Board Freeride 500 aufblasbar.

This is hilarious 😂! It’s quite an experience to see a pro struggle on some weird beginner gear. I guess it was made for children and max 8 knots of wind. But the boards with a fin in front can’t make any sense really.

Could you test their inflatable freeride windsurf board? There is a market for occasional equipment that packs small.

Hi Nico, great to see that test experience. Our kids (3 and 5 years old) are starting with windsurfing. I bought a normal kidrig in 1.0. Good that I didn't try this one. Perhaps the irig would be interesting as well. It looks like a wing but was designed years ago before the wings came up. Jochen

Hi Nico Big thx for all your videos, I enjoyed all of them. But there are also more serious solution’s concerning inflatable rigs and boards and especially for children as the rig can be handled easier. And for parents it helps to save space in the car on the transport to the surfspot. Would be great if you could test some combinations, maybe with support of some beginners.

I think the equipment definitely is a joke for pro windsurfers but actually it's not for them 🙂 I think it is more for kids, for light wind and basically for fun ( especially for those who are watching from the beach 😂). I'm beginner to intermediate and take rent equipment during my summer holidays on the sea coast line. This spring I consider to buy inflatable WindSUP board. Probably you've seen them around. They could be used with standard sail. Of cause they cannot perform as hard boards do but seem to be a good choice for me in terms of storage and logistic. Have you ever tried such iWindSUP board for sailing? It would be really nice to read some feedback from you! 🙂 Enjoy your ride!

This was very entertaining! Decathlon needs your imput! Can you design a windsurf for beginners which would sell for around 400-500 euros. Is this possible? I don't think this rig from Decathlon won't be a big seller.

It seems it was more pleasure to ride my original Windsurfer (with carbon boom for tuning reason) on the Kieler Förde than this? Is it for sale on ebay-Kleinanzeigen?

last year I tried to teach somebody and tried an inflatable board with sail, it was very bad experience and told the guy sell it immediatley and in a windsurfing center take a lessons from professionals, but never use same things again, if you want really enjoy this sport

On top of all of it's flaws, it doesn't even look like you would learn much about actual windsurfing by using it... would be interesting to see how the Duotone iRig + SUP would compare as a platform for beginners.

Isn't this the problem when these kind of stores sell this sort of kit, people possibly think they are buying something that can be fun, but it's dangerous, in the UK, after COVID lockdowns every store was selling sup etc, with no knowledge of what they're selling, and unfortunately some people died using bad equipment in bad situations. Like u say buy from reputable dealers, who have the knowledge of the equipment they are selling.

Even you looked like a WS newbie on this rig. No way a real beginner would give WS another try after 1 session. Wingfoil might still be the best way to get people into Windsports, I’m sure a lot will find their way into WS eventually.

Laughing my ass off seeing the reactions of everyone around 🤣😂 The only question I had... WHY ?? It seems to be capable of degrading a pro to an absolute beginner 😂 This thing is worse than my Dufour 4m+ board I had as a first board in 1982. The designer didn't try his own 'creation' I guess 🤣

I got this kit to teach my kid a year ago, also a friend wanting to learn windsurfing tried it twice. In both case it didn't work well. Yes they can get the rig up, but then it's so hard to set a direction. The board by itself rotates too easily, even when just using it as an SUP, it want to go left and right way too much... Though, I think you might have set the bottom connection wrong, I don't have this problem. In all cases, they should definitely stop selling this. It doesn't perform at all what it advertises, I had only positive opinions on all decathlon products, until this one... It doesn't even make a good backup SUP, don't buy it!

I wouldn't expect this targeted to people that want to do windsurfing... more like towards people that would rather use light summer breeze to cruise instead of their inflatable paddleboard.. I think under those conditions, and without windsurf in mind, its a nice toy.

Tried it today, bought it for the kids to learn but had to try first. So dispointed !!
