I have an idea for a Rostam/Zoroastrianism run of the new CK3 Expansion. It requires you to do four things as Rostam. The first is give him university visits on Cooldown, and get Strategist + Galant. The second is matrilineal marry all your daughters for either: Inheritable Traits/Legendary Blademaster (then make a Knight Accolade that is a Blademaster + Military Engineer Commander Trait), next Diverge the Daylamite Culture (Don't Reform!!!) to include: Bureaucratic Ethos, Mountain Homes, and Armed Skirmishers (build two stacks of (5) Zupin Spearmen, then build two stacks of (5) Archers to get the Prestige discount on Armed Skirmishers); finally Hybridize with Persian (Swap Zupin Spearmen for Futuwaa and include any traditions you may like) Only THEN. Go for the Iranian Resurgence. 🤙🏿🍻
Rostam should be able to accomplish the task I laid out while he is still "just" the Daylamite King. So there will be plenty of time to end the Intermezzo as one of his Heir's. If the RNG should kill Rostam despite him having Galant + Strategist + High Martial + High Learning + Level 5 Martial Education Trait (achieved by doing maxed out university visits while Scholar Perk is unlocked) + Whole of Body + Scholar 🤙🏿🍻
I probs have 200 hours between civ 3 to 5 and i failed to not know deaert was bad because the recommended aettle area was in the middle of a desert also made the same issue with snow on my very first game of civ6 @sre911
That final reveal was hilarious. Impressive that you could follow instructions while giving conversation to potato and not raising suspicions. Greeat video man!
I don't understand how this only has 17k views after 2 days This is one the best youtube videos i have watched in a long time It has a fun and interesting game, with topnotch story telling and a plot to get invested in, amazing editing, cameos from larger content creators, great humor and comedic moments, AND IT STILL ONLY HAS 17K VIEWS I truly hope this video hits 1 mil views one day
As a French, you can't imagine how good of a surprise it was when you started talking with French people in this video. Thanks for this video, et vivement la prochaine !
Huge shout-out to Michael for recommending this video on the Freritos vs CoC game yesterday, this was a great video. Most importantly, he didn't spoil anything. 10/10 twist.
@@OttawaWelshman Agreed! And since I only even found Michael and CPL through Potato it's only fair to show some appreciation for everything he's done for Civ.
DAMN, I was watching a gazillion of Civ6 youtubers, slowly approaching deity myself, and for some reason I never knew you could stack up production by _doing nothing_ . Ths video was not only entertainment for me, but also educational, thank you OW!
I am film theorist and starting filmmaker and I am amazed how good you are storyteller and how well you framed it. I didnt expect to learn that much about civ VI and be so much amused and pulled in. Well done.
Fun fact with the Dunning Kruger effect, the graph that you use to explain it is actually an exact example of the actual principle. It actually is more linked to imposter syndrome more so than the illogical confidence that some have when learning something new. The actual study has two lines line you demonstrated showing actual skill and perceived abilities but while many start to get a slightly inflated confidence in their abilities after learning the basics the study didn't find them believing they were more intelligent than experts in the field. It also does not have a huge drop off as actual ability grows it will slightly plateau after an initial spike but generally there isn't an overlap point between perceived and actual abilities.
That was a huge amount of fun to watch, great job editing (as many others have said above). Also huge kudos to Potato for his sportsmanship in being had, and just wow, Bartsake is just beyond phenomenal! I looking forward to seeing more or your videos! 👍👍
Dude, I almost never comment on youtube. But just started Civ 6, found this vid, and its amazing. Awesome editing, fun, interesting, good storytelling. Cheers bro, great video you seem like a great guy!
Great video and great editing man. Potato and Bartsake talking at the same time had me in tears lmao. I also love the Canadian touch you put on you videos.
Stumbled across this video, as a caual Civ VI player i found this incredible. Even had me until the final reveal! Brilliantly put together, and a hat tip to you good sir.
Best 49 minute and 59 second I've spent. I've recently started playing CIV 6 again too after abandoning it years ago (just few hours after purchase too). So it was incredibly hilarious to me to see you go down the path of learning the mechanics behind the game as I was doing the same few weeks ago (probably why RU-vid recommend this video and I love it). I haven't tried Diety yet because I'm too chicken out at the prospect but I might try it after being inspired by this video, to at least try to secure one win so I can tell my grandkids about it (I'm 24 and still single). The funniest bit you did that almost make me choke on water was when you told about your WFH where you would move your mouse too look productive (and ChatGPT the tickets) until 5pm. You have no idea how relatable that was for me as I work as programmer too and would WFH frequently. Little things like that honestly made my whole day for some reason. I would praise you more as this episode is freaking gold and rare, but I think you already know how good of a job you did and the comment sections will cover the praises I didn't give. I'm officially a fan and cannot wait for more. Bonus for me if you do EU4 content.
Same exact boat for me even down to EU4, minus the chatGPT (GIS is a great WFH career lmao). I’ve found Japan’s district bonuses are very fun to play around with. Good luck on your challenge!
@@TheRestedOne Dude, that's incredible, you're a certified map men. Working on maps is not enough for you that you decide to play on maps as a hobby too. Insane.
The AI gets unfair bonuses on deity, so playing on that as a total newbie is like fighting a martial arts master with both your arms tied behind your back and chains around your ankles.
They are also incredibly stupid, dont scale at all and barely try to win. They may research modern tanks, but will still fight with cannons and line infantry
AI in Civ 6 is so braindead (it just doesn't understand the district system + it wastes so much time building walls + it can't figure out how to build military units) that it's more like fighting against a toddler with a machine gun. That said if you're fighting against a toddler with a machine gun while chained to the wall (what being new to civ is like) then he'll shoot you eventually.
Loved every part of this. From the day to day work (which shhhhhh they dont need to know so much 😅) to the reveal, man oh man this is fantastic. Excited to see what you make next!
This is the first video I've ever watched of yours--and I don't know where you honed this skill...you are a MASTER STORYTELLER (and helluva editor if you did the editing yourself). SUBSCRIBED!
Love your journey mate. Really shows how you can get better at the game by playing it. And that its ok to lose. You learn the most for your failures right. Also, Civ7 hype!
I fell in love with your recent upload. All the humour, the tutorial, gameplay videos you did really make my day. Here for more quality videos from you.
This was a great video showing how people can get better at anything. Although you basically copy-and-pasted at the end, you understood the concepts and knew exactly the underhanded things you were doing. Nice!
RU-vid algorithm gods brought me here by chance, and thank GOD, 'cause I was stuck to the screen laughing and enjoying every minute until the end! Looking forward to more hilarious and original content like this -- one more sub your way! :)
The fact that you didnt know there were no a league and tournament at the start of the video triggered me so much Relieved to see you corrected that after ^^
This is probably your best video yet. It left me with that same feeing a good book or movie does. That feeling that it’s over before I was ready to move on and kinda lives with you for a bit in your mind.
This was the most beautiful youtube video I've ever seen. The deception, the drama, the knowledge, the laughs. 10/10 should be re-done by Michael Bay for a Holywood movie. Ez sub.
You can delay production?! So many times I've wanted to do that but by default the game forces you to start producing before you end the turn. Really wish the advisor mentioned that at some point
Dude this is the most fun content on civ 6 I watched, it’s a crime it has so little views😢 I was laughing my ass off at the end when u we’re trying to speak to 2 people😂 Also, video with potato feels like a crossover for civ6 players ahah
Ah, this was lots of fun. All the emotions players go through trying to figure out the game, and the humour was great. I did smell a rat, I was thinking no way this guy beats PMW after 7 days lol.
i have 1000hours in Civ 6 won with 25 civs on deity, achieved eevery win condition, did OCCs and peaceful domination but never heard of that district reduction by40%. awesome
2:30 Buda and Pest were 2 completely different cities that just shared the same borders, and throughout history they merged cuz why not. Another fun fact, people in that time, actually called it Pest-Buda, and when said, they were talking about these 2 cities, not one city :D but since they were so close together, saying that you travel to Pest or Buda, basically meant the same place, just one or the other side of Duna (I dunno whats the international name for it)
