I Tried Briogeo on my Type 4 Low Porosity Natural Hair | Briogeo Wash Day | Type 4 Friendly? 🤔🥴 

I haven't seen a honest review like this on a product in a VERY long time. I love how you kept it 💯 and how you wasn't dramatic in the thumbnail making them faces

You adding water and rereading the packaging had me rolling 🤣🤣🤣

I used it as a twisting cream and it was excellent. It left my hair soft but undefined which is fine for me. I would have never used it as a leave-in. Everyone's hair is different so I say instead of people thinking it's going to react the same way to your hair, try it and see how it works on your hair.

My hair is also low porosity. The first time I used the Briogeo curling custard and gel combo my hair turned out a hot mess. Due to the cost of the products I decided to try the curl custard one more time since it is supposed to be for 4 type hair but this time I used Uncle Funky’s Daughter Curly Magic as my finishing gel. I also used a leave-in conditioner, the Briogeo Farewell Frizz Rosario Milk Leave-in on one occasion and Pattern Beauty on another. This combo worked way better and has become one of my favorite combos. I gave the Briogeo gel and leave-in defining creme (this is not a leave-in conditioner but a stying cream) to a girlfriend with 3 type hair, she loves them. I haven’t tried the shampoo but I like both hair mask you mentioned in the video. I will use the Don’t Repair hair mask no more than once a month because of the protein. I agree the directions need to be clearer as to how to use the curl products.

I believe you when you say it doesn't feel right. Sometimes my hair look trash and when I go to take a picture so someone can see, my hair looks perfect. But I'm looking in the mirror like it doesn't look like this person. For those products to be so expensive, your hair should have felt great

Dry, frizzy and tangled is how my hair feels with to much protein. Maybe that is the case.

There’s a whole leave in for the curl charisma line. The custard, is a custard so it is a true styler. I’d definitely try them again with the leave in, but whatever floats your boat.

I think it was the protein I use Briogeo be kind be gentle matcha + apple superfood shampoo and conditioner and I used the same mask but I use the farewell frizz Rosario milk leave in. These are protein free

Wow I feel the same ! If I apply deep conditioner in the shower I feel like I waste it, same with leave in if I add too much so if I add leave in while in the shower I don’t apply too much.

I had a friend who has medium-low ish porosity so I always suggest protein in the shower and never while styling. Medium to high porosity hair (especially damaged hair) loves protein. So a good protein balance for all hair types is a must.

Yeah I've never seen the hype with briogeo - despite the owner being a black woman, I think her products cater towards loose curl patterns/ white women

Great video! The coil custard is useless. I love their gel but it’s way too small and their original deep conditioner is my favourite. And yes, I think your hair looks fantastic but you know your strands best. You should try the new Living Proof curl line if you’re open to new products.

HAIR TWIN! I think I’m going to try the avocado mask. I’m also 4a/4b, low porosity and high density. My hair also loves protein strangely enough. Adding that DC to my cart now since most of my DCs have protein in it. I need something without it.

I kind of want to try this line still... but I’m the total opposite of you (high porosity, color treated) and it needs protein as much as it needs moisture. I’m only really interested in the shampoo and the deep conditioners though... the styling products probably would do nothing to my dense af, 3c/4a hair

I don't mess with protein at all. The one time I used a protein mask my hair was sooo DRY and brittle. Never again.

I love their foundation products but stylers, not so much. But I agree it could be all the protein or needing to clarify.
